Review Sunnin Lebanese Cafe - Los Angeles

Got the pastry combo as appetizer. For the price the portion was a little on the smaller side. It came with 1 of each: fatayer, sanbousek, sfiha and rekakat. Rekkat was the best of the lot which surprised me a bit since I was expecting either the sanbousek or sfiha to come out on top. For the entrée got the Mloukhiyeh with lamb shank & rice & pita bread was included as sides. For the dessert got the Ousmaliyeh which was decent. The dessert wasn't overly sweet but I thought it was a little on the pricier side.

Sunnin was amazing! My step-daughter and I just randomly chose it for dinner because I had a craving for falafel. The menu had so many delicious choices, and we finally settled on falafel for me, chicken kebab for my stepdaughter and a plate of spicy crispy potatoes. It wasn’t long before we asked for mint yogurt sauce and sliced cucumbers to dip into it. We were unprepared for the size of the servings - they were huge. The chicken dish came with an amazing side that we found out was whipped olive oil, and garlic. My falafel plate came with hummus and tahini, and both entrées included rice pilaf, and salad. Even the salad dressing was amazing, and I could detect a hint of mint. The gentleman who work at Sunnin were super friendly and attentive, including the server and the busser. After dinner, we were treated to the most amazing dessert. I can’t remember the name of it but it was a pannacotta with a rosewater, honey, and pistachio. We have lived in San Francisco, New York, and LA and we both agreed that this was the most delicious dessert we have ever had. This restaurant is a real find and we will definitely be back again.

Amazing Lebanese restaurant that has had consistent food quality for years. Every single dish here is worth trying but chicken kafta with lots of garlic sauce is my personal fave, as well as okra stew and mloukhieh. Do yourself a favor and try this place! Pictured: Em Tony’s Mloukhieh 😍

Testey food but the wrong thing they serve the food in one time so they should wait to finish the appetiser first then serve the main course…

I recently visited Sunnin Lebanese Cafe and I have to say, it was an incredible dining experience that exceeded all of my expectations! What really blew me away was the food. The Rekkakat were hands-down the crispiest I've ever had - I couldn't get enough of them! And the Fatoush was unlike anything I've tasted before, with the pita bread being smoky and crispy in just the right way. The Koussa (stuffed squash) was also amazing and prepared exactly how my auntie makes it, which was a pleasant surprise. But it wasn't just the food that made Sunnin Lebanese Cafe stand out - it was the service as well. Our waiter was incredibly friendly and accommodating, making us feel right at home. And even when we brought my service dog with us, it was no problem at all. Overall, I can confidently say that Sunnin Lebanese Cafe is one of the best restaurants I've been to in Los Angeles, and certainly the most authentic Lebanese food I've had in the city. From the amazing Rekkakat and Fatoush to the warm and welcoming atmosphere and friendly service, everything about this place was top-notch. If you're looking for an authentic Lebanese dining experience, then Sunnin Lebanese Cafe is an absolute must-visit!

It doesn't get better than this! The quality and authenticity is unmatched. Id dream to live by a such a spot. The owner Rita is very friendly and generous thanks for the amazing flavors and hospitality! This place offers some of the best dishes that the Mediterranean cuisine has to offer. Not just the standard mezza and kabobs "which are amazing" but also an array of home made meals that actually taste like home. So happy I found Sunnin. I will be driving to from the bay to LA just to eat here, specially when I'm craving some amazing stuffed grape leaves or just Taboule!!!!

Our favorite LA restaurant. They just need more parking 🙂 we can't find good Lebanese food like this in Kansas City. Also, they have the BEST garlic sauce!

I orders the spicy potatoes, they were not spicy but we did ask for their spicy green sauce and that was fantastic! Also had the chicken Shawarma sandwich, wrap and chicken shish tawook, it was so juicy! Fresh and DELICIOUS! They gave us a mountain of rice! Def was plenty of food enough to take home!

A nice Lebanese restaurant. Friendly staff, good service and tasty authentic food. I loved everything from the appetizers to the Specials. Portions were great, food was hot and even though the place was crowded food was served quickly. My only issue is it’s a bit pricy!

Good Lebanese small restaurant/Cafe. Tasty food in nice atmosphere . The service is great with attentive crew. The chef greats regular customers often discussing the dish of the day . Price is in the upper to modern level but you are dining in westwood .

We moved to the area recently and got takeout from this place for the first time last night. And wow the food is amazing! We got the Combo Grill entree, lentil soup, and sfiha to share between 2 people. It was the perfect amount of food! My girlfriend does not usually like lentil soup and hummus, but she said she would “eat hummus more if it always tasted like this.”Normally she takes one sip of lentil soup and gives the rest to me, but this time I had to fight her off my soup, and she still had half of it! The chicken, beef kefta, and beef shawarma were all flavorful and perfectly cooked. You could see a lot of herbs mixed in through all of the kefta which I have not seen before! I loved it! Normally, the side salads are something that I eat because they’re vegetables but not because they taste amazing. The one that came with our entree had the sauce mixed in and it was the perfect amount, and tasted great! The rice was great too! The person on the phone recommended the chicken kebab and beef kefta and I will say that they were absolutely right - we are definitely going to get those again. The beef kebab was kind of like pieces of flavorful steak, but it wasn’t melt-in-your mouth as much as the kefta and the chicken kebab. There are no pictures of food because we ate it all so fast. But we will definitely be getting food here again. I love Mediterranean food and my girlfriend has been so-so about it, but she was impressed by Sunnin. I am so happy we found a place we both love!

Nice space, simple but the music they were playing was a bit too repetitive. Food was good, except the pita bread, it was one of those flat ones with little flavor. I had the chicken garlic plate, the meat was tasty and it came with a good side salad and rice. Would definitely go back.

Delicious, flavorful Lebanese cuisine with big portions and pleasant, quick service. Prices are a little high but that's somewhat justified with the better quality. It can get very busy around lunch time so try getting there a little early if you want to avoid waiting for a table.

Service was excellent, food was good, but not hot. Just wish it was hot.

I eat food from Sunnin at least 4 times a week. They use the freshest ingredients, and everything is cooked to perfection. I haven’t had a single dish here (or even a single experience) that wasn’t great. Unlike “Americanized” or chain Mediterranean food, Sunnin’s dishes are light, refreshing, and truly healthy. Their fattoush salad dressing, Toum (garlic sauce), and baba ghanoush are to die for and made in house daily (along with all their other dressings and spreads)! All meat is high quality, well seasoned without being overloaded with salt or excessive spices, and juicy and well cooked. Try the chicken tawook and beef kefta! In addition to the wonderful food, every staff member is extremely welcoming, kind, and attentive. The restaurant is always spotless and has a relaxing, welcoming atmosphere. Lastly, one of the owners, Nicole, is incredibly cool, kind, and hilarious. Sunnin makes everyone feel like part of the family, and I thank the whole team for keeping me well fed, healthy, and happy! - Joe

The food at this hidden gem is amazing! Everything we ate tasted great. The service was really good too. Will be coming back whenever we want excellent middle-eastern food!

This place is totally authentic, like being in the Levant. I had dishes I cannot remember the name of (have left the restaurant), and everything was new, delicious, and generously portioned. Will be hoping to visit LA again so I can try some other dishes. And maybe learn the names of the menu items!
