Review Las Fuentes Mexican Food - Los Angeles

Richard Chan
My favorite Mexican restaurant in all of Los Angeles! You can order nearly anything on the menu and it’s going to be a hit. Be prepared to come super hungry as the portions are HUGE! My go to is the Al Pastor plate or Al Pastor burrito and add a side of rice and beans and you’ll be in Mexican food heaven! If you want to know what heaven taste like, it’s here.

My wife loves the tortas here so she decided to place her order online for pickup over the weekend. Finding parking here can be difficult so be aware of that because they don't have a lot of parking spots. We parked at the market next door since they have more parking spots in the back. I saw that they had some dining table outside if you want to dine there and they also have indoor dining as well. They have a big menu that I took a look at while inside. They had a separate area where you can go to pick up your online order. I tried the tortas and thought it tasted fine. It wasn't my favorite but my wife said this place has the best tortas.

My dad always talked about this restaurant because he worked in it's construction so he is kinda regular to it. This was my first time and I liked it a lot, I was looking to try a burrito mojado and I found a really good one here, I had the machaca burrito. My daughter had taquitos dorados, they were ok and my wife had a pastor torta which was really good as well. The chips and salsa are a perfect starter and a good crunch for your meal. The place is very nice it really resembles a Mexican restaurant, the colors and deco is cool. I definitely recommend Las Fuentes and I'll be eating there again soon.

Las Fuentes is an overall solid Mexican restaurant with a wide variety of items on their menu. I got a pollo burrito “Gringo Style”, which is a wet burrito with ranchera sauce and melted cheese on top. It was very good, though I think the chicken could have been a bit more flavorful. The size of the burrito was massive and it was hard to finish the whole thing. I also tried the mole enchiladas. The chicken tastes similar to the burrito, but the sauce was excellent. The interior of Las Fuentes is unique and has a lot of character. I went around 3:00pm and the place was packed. Thankfully they have a lot of tables and our food surprisingly came out quite fast. I love when a Mexican restaurant has their own salsa bar like Las Fuentes, and all of the salsas I tried were great! Give this place a try!

This place has a nice ambience and is pretty cozy inside. We got our food not too long after ordering which was nice. The chips were a little too salty but the salsa was very good. The vegetarian burrito had a lot of tomatoes and not a lot of beans and rice. Overall I would rate the burrito a 4/5. From what I was told, the beef plate was good and the rice was cooked very well. I would definitely come back.

The gentleman that takes your order was very friendly and helpful when we asked questions. Food was delicious. Establishment was very clean, atmosphere is inviting. Although the parking is not good we had to park at the market.

This place you order at the entrance and then you pickup your food when it's done. The drinks are served by a waitress. The enjoy the decor. It is very colorful and inviting. Las Fuentes Restaurant is an authentic Mexican cuisine. I highly recommend that you try this restaurant.

Have always loved Las Fuentes. Have been coming here for over 25 years. Great old style Mexican food. And their avocado salsa is AMAZING. The staff is very friendly, and kind.

Great salsas, fresh tortillas chips and well cooked, tender meat. Enjoyed our lunch here. The Chile verde was one of the better ones in the area with a very flavorful verde sauce and tender, good quality pork. If the pork was good the Chile Colorado beef was even more succulent and flavorful. The Carne asada burrito was good as well. Portions are big as well. After a meal that fully satiated us, the cherry on top was that we came out with leftovers to enjoy for another meal !

Love their food, especially the chicken flautas. Portions are great and their prices are reasonable. Only gripe is everyone knows about this place. You order your food then most often have to try to find a table which may not be easy. It would be nice if they had a better system for seating but I guess that's the trade off for good food at a decent price: expect busy and then some

Always good. Sol y Luna, Las Fuentes and Melodies are owned by the same family in the San Fernando Valley. And they now have another one up near CSUN on Reseda. All are GOOD!!!! Also busy. Sol y Luna on Ventura Blvd. is the only one that serves you at the table. The others take your order at the counter. One Chile Relleno is a meal in itself taking up an entire plate. So don't make the mistake I did and order a side of enchiladas or you will have enough for 2 people. I thought I was making a normal combo - wrong! This is very good "LA Style" Mexican food. The decor is fun with crazy Mexican stuff hanging all over the ceiling. Hard wood benches & chairs but fairly comfortable. Parking is a drag but worth it.

Best Mexican food ever! Hands down the most delicious Mexican food I've ever tasted. I could live off of the pico de gallo alone. Parking is usually difficult to find, but the hassle is WELL worth it.

Busy, noisy and DELICIOUS. Great, tostadas, salsas, carne asada plate, chicken soup, friendly staff but no table service. almost always crowded, so go between meals if possible, great mix of people, only thing on the menu that's weak are the tacos Everything else is ALL GOOD!

I have been coming here on and off since 1985. Have tried just about everything on the menu. It is all so delicious.

Mediocre. There is such great feedback on here I thought I would get great food. It was horrible. Tons of gristle in the pork, tasteless sauce, unripe avocado, etc. Definitely never going here again.

The staff was nice though and its cheap, so I guess that evens it out. lol

The Middle of the Trio. Sol y Luna, Las Fuentes and Melodies are a classic trio of Mexican restaurants owned by the same family in the San Fernando Valley. If you are looking for the Los Angeles Mexican dining experience, you will find it here.
Sol y Luna is the dine-in-and-get-served-by-a-waiter restaurant of the 3. At Las Fuentes, you order at the counter and sit down. Melodies has a much more limited menu and is the size of a taco bell (although much better than a taco bell). Las Fuentes is my favorite of the 3. You may want to park across the street, though because they can get packed during rush hour. Everything here is excellent and cheaper than Sol y Luna. I have a soft spot for the Mole. I like to chase it with Horchata and a Flan. All great food. All highly recommended.

Great Place. Try them for breakfast. Best time to find parking.

Worth the hour trying to find parking. This was a lunch favorite when I worked in Van Nuys. Tons of food at a very affordable price. All white meat chicken used which is a huge plus in my book. Love the salsa bar which has a little something for everyone. Overall, one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in L.A.!

A lot people don't know about this place... Las Fuentes has very good food, and the service is great!!! Although it does get a bit packed... I recommend this place for anyone that's craving good Mexican food...

Very kid friendly. Great food and prices. Busy and noisy. Thumbs up!

Very Good!. Nestled along a main street with small and very insufficient parking Las Fuentes is the perfect place to go for a week night dinner. The food is delicious and their carne asada is spicy, charred, and satisfying.
Hey Craig
Great food!

All in all, for $4.50 I was pleased. The sauces from the salsa bar help to combat the dryness of the meat. I see a next time in my future.

Burrito Las Fuentes gets a lot of raves, plus it's located in the Valley, so I went in with high hopes for some tasty Mexican food. I was expecting table service, so ordering at the counter was a little disorienting, as was reading the huge menu off of th
