Words can not describe how amazing the food is at this special place. It was one of the best meals I have had in LA ever. My Mom makes many of the traditional meals so I am aware of how it should taste. I think the Ropa Vieja is MUY delicioso, and on point 100%! Mojito was very good (*Sugar cane was a special touch, and for anyone who is Latino, we can always use more Rum). Platanos Maduros were perfect! Arroz con Pollo was good (we use olives in Panama for salt), may have needed a bit more salt. Yucca Frita served with green sauce and vinegar (Gringos use Ketchup in Panama). I should have ordered un cafecito. Thank you to the nice staff. Our 19 year old Sun who is here visiting us from France was very happy, as was Papa, and Mama. Mil Gracias!
We will be back as soon as possible! Much love from the French & Panamanian - American family.

Great service & really good food. Never had a bad experience. Prices are reasonable. A family style restaurant. The garlic chicken is amazing. There’s something on the menu for everyone. Plenty of parking. Every time I pass by there is always a crowd, a sign that it’s a great place to eat . Try it you will love it .
Versailles is a charming Cuban restaurant that brings a slice of Havana right here to Los Angeles. I recently dined here and had an overall delightful experience.
The ambiance instantly transports you to Cuba with its vibrant design and lively atmosphere. It's the perfect place for a casual evening out with friends or a cozy dinner with loved ones.
The menu offers a variety of Cuban classics, and I was particularly impressed with their traditional Cuban authentic taste.
If you're in the mood for Cuban cuisine, Versailles is definitely worth a visit. It's a culinary journey to Cuba, right in the heart of Los Angeles.
Let me just start by saying I LOVE Cuban food! Was my first time trying this spot and I damn near ate the plate that my order came out on lol. I tried the Ropa de viejo (favorite of mine) and it was tender, well seasoned and had just the right amount of veggies and sauce. The entire meal was pretty good and very satisfying.
Gotta shoutout the sandwich I tried as well! The Bisteck sandwich was delicious and it came with some really good fries. The mango smoothie was creamy and mildly sweet. Loved it.
It's a quaint, small restaurant that has that mom N' pop feel. The staff were friendly, the music was good and the establishment was clean and has its own little section in the parking lot. Definitely coming back!
This was my first time here. As soon as you walk in, you are able to feel the great atmosphere at this place. The staff had a lot to do with it because they are awesome. The food here is very tasty and has great flavor. I will be returning very soon.
Authentic food and atmosphere. Perfect seasonings and recipes! Delicious and concentrated in flavor! Chicken is as good as advertised. Great Cubano as well.
In A Nutshell:
-This Versailles located here in L.A. is actually a good Cuban restaurant.
-The first thing I asked when I sat down was if this was affiliated w/ the Versailles restaurant I always eat at in Miami & the answer was "no".
-This restaurant has good customer service, it felt like a family.
-We ordered their Whole Red Snapper which for $35 felt like a pretty good deal.
-We also ordered their Vaca Frita (Cuban Crispy Shredded Beef).
-Both orders come w/ a side of black beans & rice.
-The whole fish was really delicious, crispy on the outside & moist white meat inside.
-The beef was a nice portion, enough to take some home for leftovers.
-You also get plantains for your meals so those strike a nice balance of adding sweetness.
Overall, this is a good restaurant to eat at if you are in the mood for Cuban food. Great value & service!
My go to meal here is the Lechon (roasted pork) with black beans, white rice and fried sweet plantains. It's ALWAYS YUMMY and hasn't changed in nearly 40 years of coming here!! We get the family size so we can have leftovers, too!!
Looks like they are in the middle of a remodel/refresh. Has been consistently good for a number of years. Garlic chicken is a must have and tastes amazing. Fried plantains are so good, order extra. Black beans are perfectly prepared and spiced. Parking can be tight in the lot. They have a bar that appears to be fully stocked. Seating in booths or at tables. Very cute area to eat outside. Highly recommended.
Huge portions, bold flavors, and welcoming waitstaff. What more could you want from this LA landmark. It’s a SoCal institution that’s mandatory for any resident or tourist. Get yourself some garlic chicken and buy a bottle of the sauce on your way out!!
Oxtail stew and garlic chicken, their most popular items! Served with plantains and black bean soup. Hearty meal. Not the cheapest but well worth with the quantity and most all top quality. Perfectly cooked, soft meat and tender chicken. Service is also top notch.
First time I ate there I was hooked I have been eating at this restaurant since they opened if I remember correctly early 1980.
Thank you for keeping the quality of food consistent. Don’t forget great service n the owner is super friendly.
