Review The Dresden Room - Los Angeles

Ed Harper
Fantastic old school Hollywood. Plush white booths, massive tomahawk steak and great cocktails and thats just the dining room. Great wedge salad app and white cake for dessert. The bar and lounge also have a great atmosphere and drinks. All plus $6 valet parking in the rear. A winner

A very well made expresso martini was made here the other night and I had to give a shout out to the bar staff!! great work - great ambiance and I suggest getting here as early or as close to opening as possible - as this dining area around the music regions fills up very nicely and with lively patrons! I cannot wait to come back to The Dresden - its straight outta the 1950s (literally) and should be frequented frequently!

Love it! Definitely a reliable go to for great cocktails, atmosphere, service. The live music always kills. Had dinner here recently, the food and service were top shelf. My only qualm, there’s no wheelchair ramps into the dining area

I came here for a drink & to check out live music on a Thursday evening. A total vibe. I would definitely come back.

One of the classiest establishments that Los Feliz had to offer. The live jazz in the lounge is extraordinary and the cocktails are perfect. I treated myself to dinner alone one night and it didn’t not disappoint. The salmon was delicious and so was the wine. The ambiance is very fancy and you’ll just feel the old Hollywood glamour seep into every aspect of the experience! 10/10 recommend!

My lamb chops were very basic old-school (6 rib chops, steamed broccoli, boiled new potatoes, grilled tomato), all prepared exactly right from the medium rare chops to fresh, lightly crunchy broccoli - simple and delicious. Only issue here was the stingy pours of chardonnay my wife was getting (she also said her chicken piccata was a little dry but otherwise very good). I skipped the uninteresting dessert menu for a Banana Alexander, which was great.

Took my mom here for her celebratory retirement dinner. Overall the experience was very good and we enjoyed ourselves and the dinner we had. The food had good flavor, was well done and great options. We got the Cacio de Pepe (very peppery and not heavy), the Ribeye Au Povire (was pretty fatty, cooked medium rare, sauce was incredible), the filet (nothing else to say but fantastic), and the veal marsala (a wonderful dish that gave you alot of veal!) the mashed potatoes were so creamy and delicious, We also ordered a few appetizers which each were a great addition, the caprese salad, french onion soup and the hit of the evening the fried artichoke hearts which came in the most delicious buttery white wine sauce. The ambiance of the place is perfect old Hollywood vibe, the booths and seating are extra cozy with dim lights and attentive servers. The bar area looked perfect for a romantic date night or special dinner with friends. A large piano sits in the center of the room where they have live music, unfortunately we did not have any as it was a Sunday. The parking in the area is hard to find since its in a residential area but they offer affordable valet parking in the back at a rate of $6, cant beat that in LA! Didn't give it a 5star as i have had much better meals elsewhere with the same ambiance, service and extras. But its a classic establishment that deserves a visit for a good night out.

A great restaurant to come and eat. The food is okay but a little on the pricey side! This location is inside an iconic historic building and is a great piece of Hollywood history! If you like live music this is also a great place to come and enjoy the atmosphere and sit and listen to local artists and jazz bands. I recommend getting reservations ahead of time. It is a small place and it does fill up!

Another great visit to the Dresden. The service was excellent. The food was very good and the cocktails were great. A wonderful journey to another era.

Absolutely love this place! I was there last night for the first time. Definitely a good spot to sit at the bar and have some drinks. They also have food which I didn't try. They have a dinning area in the back. Also live music on Wednesday nights! Parking in the rear. The bartenders are polite and quick.

Great, classic interior. I used to come here in the early 90s but I only saw the bar side. Never eat on the restaurant side and it was great. Top notch service, the menu had a good variety of dishes and the parking was fairly painless. Suggest that you get there when it opens at 5pm and also make reservations.

The vibe and live music do the magic. Cocktails are nice and not pricy. Food is good too for a bar.

Very cool spot with tons of character and a friendly staff/crowd. The drinks might be a little weak, but the food is good and the entertainment is top-notch. Really enjoyed my visit!

I am old school. The music was not. I made a toast to Marty and Elaine as I took in the new sounds. I was surprised at how busy it was so early. Still great vibes, good drinks. Friends tell me the restaurant food is decent. But the music is sooo different. It was a different vibe. Not better not worse. Still interesting. Worth visiting again. I will be back.

A lovely historic spot with a classic menu. Food was very good. I wish the dining area was a little less modern.

I love this place. I've eaten there for decades. Every meal I've ever had there has been a wonderful experience. Last night I had a T-bone steak there that tasted like eating a steak in a steakhouse anywhere from Omaha to Chicago....flavorful, tender, tasted like it was corn fed and not grass fed. Really awesome.

This place has never failed me. The service you get from the lovely staff is 5 star. The food is beyond excellent. The selection of wine is unmatched. The music from Marty and Elayne is timeless. Countless movies and tv shows have shot here for a reason. Im 33 and like class, i'm telling you to look no further than the Dresden. Put that suit on and enjoy the night here.

Very few restaurants in Los Feliz or Hollywood can compete with the iconic ambiance and history of The Dresden. It's one of the best kept secrets in town in terms of a great steakhouse. Share a Chateaubriand on a special occasion, or enjoy another personal favorite, the Culotte Steak. There are chicken, fish and pasta choices as well. The 4th meal is free on your birthday! Marty and Elayne are the oldest running act in Hollywood on drums, piano, bass, with guest vocalists and a sax on occasion. I'm sure the spirits of Frank, Sammy and Dean visit and linger in the corner on occasion. I just rediscovered their great happy hour. Whether you're visiting or a longtime resident, you just have to do this on occasion! Enjoy.

The food is always wonderful. The service is great. I like that the waiter doesn't bother you all the time. Water glasses are refilled with out asking. We have dined later and never had problems. Marty and Elaine are wonderful.

An L.A. classic. Dinner is always perfection. The bar is one of the best in the city. Be sure to visit on a night when local legends Marty and Elayne are performing, and you *have* to try the Dresden's sig cocktail, Blood and Sand. Parking is a breeze, and it's in one of the best neighborhoods to walk. I rarely give a perfect score, but the Dresden earns 5 stars hands-down.

absolutely the best place to have a drink in Los Angeles. Marty and Elayne are still going strong.

I was a little worried when we walked in. The decor seems to be quite outdated. However, the service was well above par. The food was excellent. We ordered a chateaubriand (for two) that was absolutely succulent. Great place to bring a date. Prices were a little lower than I anticipated... but they reflect good, fine dining at a very fair price.

This place is amazing, classy old time LA. Great food and service and photo wall of celebrity visitors is cool. Loved it and the Dine n Ride to the Greek was so fast and easy. Recommend it!

This is hands down my favorite L.A. bar. Great food, fabulous entertainment by Marty and Elayne, and awesome service. John, the manager, is the best!

Great night at The Dresden! The salmon and prime rib were fab and the service was the best as always!

Love this place.... If your looking for old school then the Dresden it is!! Great vibes yummy Blood and Sands a must... One of the best prim rib dinners for only 25.00 ... Then the lounge Marty and Elaine a duo you must hear she can rock the key board over all a great place for dinner or drinks or both!!
Dana Kerstein
Hands down my favourite place in LA. Marty, Elaine and all the musicians and staff make this one of the most magical places in LA.
Robin Doronn
The atmosphere staff and food was all fantastic. I hope to come back soon

The vintage glamour is endless, the food is super old school, and if you move from the restaurant to the bar to see Lounge legends Marty and Elayne after dinner - you will NOT be dissapointed.
