The Only Real Trinity
Finally tried this place. We got there 15 minutes before closing, and they allowed us to order. We didn’t know they close early. Anyways, our server was very understanding and accommodating.
The place itself is very retro. Great vibe. Decor is definitely nostalgic. Has a diner feel to it. Great music playing too.
I had the patty melt. Made with Kobe beef. It didn’t really fit the sandwich. It was kinda small. So, basically more bread than anything. Not to impressed. Not much flavor. My friends had the hot chicken sandwich and the chicken club on a waffle. They both said theirs was yummy. We also ordered some Mac and cheese. I tried the Mac and cheese. It’s good don’t get me wrong…just missing something. Overall the food is good. I wanna come back and try some other things as there is so much to choose from. Needless to say I would definitely recommend.

We had a great breakfast and experience on Sunday morning. Located in Hollywood, the area can get quite busy, but it’s nice to start the day in a busy part of town. Parking can be a bit tricky because they don’t have a parking lot so it’ll be metered street parking. It’s located on the bottom floor of a high-rise office building and has many outdoor and indoor seating options, however we chose to sit inside at the counter due to weather. Our server Ian was very prompt and did a great job as well.
They specialize in waffles obviously, but also have many of the classics. They don’t have my favorite breakfast dish: Eggs Benedict, but they still have a lot of great options. We both ordered the Waffle Breakfast, which comes with a side waffle. We chose the blueberry compote and the red velvet waffle and both were fantastic. I was not a fan of their hash browns due to the seasoning on them and how thick they were, but all the other items were great.
Overall a great breakfast with fair pricing and fast service. As a fan of waffles it was great to see how many options they have to choose from. I will definitely be back in the near future.

Fantastic brunch spot with amazing waffles - they have a gluten free and vegan option as well! The parking situation is meters on the street; my friend and I went on a Saturday early afternoon (around 2 PM) and there was plenty of metered parking. The establishment is located next to a bank tower so it’s a bit subtle but has yellow umbrellas outside. There’s a lot of outdoor and indoor seating. The service was good - pretty standard and typical, portion sizes are good too. I got the waffle breakfast which comes with your choice of half or full waffle, (there are so many flavors of waffles to choose from, a protein meat, side, and choice of eggs. It was a satisfying meal overall and I also had the pineapple juice which was good. Overall a great place to brunch, it is a bit pricey - $20-30 per meal but it is LA so it makes sense. Would definitely come back here for the waffles!

Met up for breakfast with some friends on my last day in LA. Ordered the Wee Waffle Flight because I couldn't decide which waffle to order. It included three mini waffles, red velvet, tres leches, and lemon blueberry. They were all DELICIOUS. The waffles were perfection, so light and fluffy. My friends were vegetarian and ordered from the regular breakfast menu and were extremely happy with their meals as well. Will definitely be back next time I'm in LA.

Not a single dish disappoints here. The menu is filled with choices that can satisfy the carnivore, the vegetarian, and kids alike.
Service is a bit slow and side dishes are quite small. Some of the menu items have similar names so double check with your server to ensure you ordered the correct item. The restaurant charges 5% on all bills because of increased wages.

These guys know how to make mimosas. We shared the flight. The double wide Chicken sandwich blew my mind. We hung out here long enough to meet a local who shared many more good places to check out. Sitting at the bar allowed us to watch all the servers who were so kind and attentive.

There was a group of 10+ people and we were seated quickly and in the shade. The customer service was wonderful, but the food was to die, for I personally had the chocolate waffles and they were so fluffy and moist I don’t know if I have ever had better waffles in America. Absolutely beautiful.

Fresh, delicious and a variety of waffles here. This cafe is located in a prime location. Coffee is unlimited. The red velvet waffle looks good but doesn’t taste that good. The waffle breakfast and lemon waffles were delicious and recommended. Service can be a little slow here in the morning around breakfast time.

Lots of different types of waffles and pancakes. Everything from pecan waffles to blueberry lemon waffles and all kinds of variety of pancakes.
One weird thing:
They have something called health insurance and living wage tax.
5% of the subtotal.
This is an addition to any other tips.
I can't say that I support that. That just seems wrong. This is the one and only place that I've been to that does that.

Really cool Cafe, where you can eat great waffles, also the gluten free ones are great. You can choose which ingredients you want, like a normal waffle oder with strawberry flavour for example and what you want on top of the waffle. I haven't eaten such a good waffle for years!!
Farhan Sabzaali
Great location, fresh breakfast selection, good strong coffee, amazing waffles selection, and eggs made to exact way you want...what more can one ask for! Definitely will be back next time we are in town!

Food was sooo good. I got the seasonal pumpkin waffle! Only two issues.
Service was iffy — it was a weekday and not super busy, but it still took like 10 minutes for the waiter to come to our table.
Weird lightbulb thing holding boiling water for tea — I’m not sure what this was about. You can see it on the right in the second picture. When the water is hot it’s way too hot to hold in your hands to pour it, so we used a bunch of napkins around the rubber part to pour it. I’m not sure what it’s supposed to be, but just get some teapots with handles 😂
Other than that, awesome spot!

Food was fresh and delicious. We ordered the patty melt and turkey club with waffle fries. Both sandwiches were top notch. Coffee was fresh and hot. Would not hesitate to come back again. Classic diner ambiance. They do add a surcharge to the bill for the kitchen staff. Everyone there was so nice and friendly and the food was excellent so the meal was worth every penny.

Great vibe and excellent food, even a nice bar if you're feeling boozy. Score!

We were looking at places to go when we decided to play tourist in Los Angeles and we found this place. We went here for breakfast and tried their waffles with the bacon and mushroom hash browns. They have a lot of items in their menu that I wish I have several stomachs so that I could try them all lol. Anyway, the waffle itself has a crispy shell. The hashbrown is not crispy but the toppings tasted really good. I also got mocha and it was a bit too sweet but still tasted good. The servers are attentive and friendly. I am surprised though that this place is not that crowded (we were there around 10am on a Saturday).

They have different waffle flavors and waffles prepared in different ways. This restaurant is good but may not be worth the price to you. The coffee was okay. They do have lattes, matcha lattes and breakfast cocktails which I did not get to try. The staff are polite and they do not rush your meal. Definitely come here to try it and have fun.

Everything about the place was amazing. From the service, food, drinks. I wish we had this place back home. I cleared my plate by the way.

Delicious breakfast! Based on other reviews we ordered the Belgian waffles to share, side of bacon & coffee. Couldn’t fault it. Waffle was light and crispy & the bacon deliciously crispy! Our first LA breakfast & we hope to come back!

Nice spot for breakfast. It was recommended by the taxi driver. It was not dissapointed at all. They serve great waffles. Belgian waffle with chocolate chips is super. Courteous staff. Fast service.

I visited The Waffle on a Sunday morning and it was full. People were waiting outside in the sun to get in. So we decided to take out regular Belgian waffles to try them. The staff were nice and helpful, one of them took our order that was ready in 20 minutes. <br/>Belgian plain waffle with syrup and butter. I added whipped cream. The portion was generous and filling. <br/>Belgian waffle with chocolate chips, also comes with butter and syrup, my son added strawberry and it was very tasty. <br/>3 for the taste only since I did not experience eating in the restaurant and also because it is pricey; 9 dollars for a plain waffle excluding the adds on.

Lovely little spot in Hollywood! Has a 70's diner feel about it. Service was excellent and the food was tasty. I had the Waffle Breakfast and my husband had the breakfast pot pie, and both were awesome. Also delicious mimosas and good coffee.

We've been sitting here for 15 minutes with dirty plates and an empty coffee cup, and no one has been by. We've asked for a coffee refill and haven't received it. The servers here don't even even have that many tables. The server gave us a "few minutes" to decide and came back after a long wait. The food came out fine and was actually quite good, but the HORRIBLE service will likely mean I won't be back. I'm normally a 18-20% tipper, but the service was horrible enough that I will not be leaving one today. The server finally came by as we stared at him as I wrote this review, but still no bill. The timer on my parking meter is ticking and the service here doesn't help. Come for the waffles, not for the service.

My only 5 star review in the dineline on Zomato, The Waffle deserves a standing ovation for it's hip location, chilled out ambience, classy clientele, delectable breakfast options and smooth mimosas! I make a note to visit this "next-to-my-home" heavenly resataurant once a month for Sunday brunches. I have been celebrating my annual Valentine's day brunch here and it never fails to impress me with the wide range of food options.

I have only been here twice but that was all I needed to fall in love. Bottomless Mimosas for Sunday brunch is the way to go, people. The only item I would say to steer clear of is their 4 cheese hash brown. They weren't lying when naming it: the amount of cheese on that thing is astounding. Not good for a mildly lactose intolerant person, like myself. Overall, great food and great atmosphere.

Restaurant: The Waffle Location: 6255 Sunset Boulevard Hollywood, CA 90028 Hours: M-F 7a-4p Sa-Su 7a-6p Ambiance: When in LA, get breakfast at The Waffle. I had the honor of touring LA and some surrounding cities with my sisters as part of my #CityTour for the year. After waking up one Saturday morning, on Golden Globes weekend, we walked from our hotel down to The Waffle on Hollywood Boulevard. The eatery has a casual, neighborhood diner feel, and serves deliciously fresh foods that are sure to make your taste buds dance. What I Ate: I ordered hot chocolote, which came with whipped cream and a little chocolate drizzle fo' shizzle! To eat..after weighing my options between the Red Velvet Waffle and French Toast Breakfast, I settled for three slices of French toast soaked in vanillas custard and topped with fruit and a side of potato hash, eggs and veggie sausage. So good and so filling, the french toast and hot chocolate were all of it, everything. No comments: Post a Comment

They no longer have bottomless mimosas. The service was slow and the food wasn't anything amazing.

Love this place!. The food here is great and the servers are always really nice. I love the bottomless mimosas! The only downside is the decor- the interior could have better ambiance. But I still eat here whenever possible!

Service was efficient. No wifi though. Breakie was tasty & filling.

The Waffle's Waffles. My friend J and I went to The Waffle after driving by approximately a bazillion other brunch locales in Hollywood and being disappointed by the lack of breakfast sweets or the abundance of long lines at every one. At The Waffle, however, we got in immediately to seats at the counter and fulfilled every sweet breakfast wish. J got a chocolate chip waffle with chocolate ganache in place of the syrup - dessert for breakfast, essentially - and I got a blueberry waffle with blueberry compote and lemon curd, which I actually liked even better! The waffle was crispy and light, and the lemon curd was lovely and tart (I preferred it to the compote, but the two complemented each other well). I'll definitely go back to try the other flavors...

Amazing waffle breakfast sandwich!! Also, the corned beef hash brown was fantastic. A definite must eat while in LA.

Great orange juice, biscuit was tasty but not fluffy, salmon omelette was mediocre. Am going to try their waffles next time. Not crowded after 11am.

Red Velvet Waffle!. It's so delicious I don't even.<br/><br/>It's even better at 2am!

So-so food.... So late in the night or so early in the morning, which ever stance you take... I ended up meeting two friends here after I dropped off my out of town friends at the W in Hollywood after a night of partying. How could I pass up the opportunity of going to a place called 'The Waffle'?! <br/><br/>And then how could I pass up the opportunity of eating a red velvet waffle? Not as crispy as I would have liked but it was a pretty decent waffle sprinkled with powdered sugar. The sweet but not too sweet cream cheese that was provided in place of the traditional butter worked pretty well. I didn't really get that red velvet taste, though.<br/><br/>We had shared an order of blue cheese buffalo chicken fries which consisted of crispy waffle cut fries drenched in creamy blue cheese and buffalo hot sauce with bits of bacon, chicken and blue cheese. It tasted just like buffalo chicken wings! Same but different!<br/><br/>It was so late... or so early... that it wasn't a place too memorable. I would try it again, though, if I am in the area.

The waffles there are delicious. Malty, sweet, and a diverse collection of waffles. Also like the chili mac and cheese. Other good menu items as well. Plus, my dog likes the homemade woofles. This place treats him like a customer. It's great.

Amazingly deliciouse and wonderfull service. Everyone is nice and helpful! A must stop place for breakfast.

Delicious!!. Great service, great food, they have a wii!! From the eggs breakfast to the vegan chili and The Original it was all good! The mac and cheese is amazing... I can't think of anything bad about this place.

This place was great!. Went on a Wednesday morning and sat outside. I don't even like waffles, but these were truly exceptional! OJ was fresh squeezed and my eggs were fabulous. We had good service, but they were not very busy. Seriously, you've gotta try these waffles!!

This place blows.. I don't think i've ever had a worse experience at a restaurant in the greater los angeles area. the waffle was recommended to my sister and i by a friend so we decided to stop by around noon on a thursday. i'm going to write a list of all the things that happened:<br/>#1: we were seated at a table right next to the door that people kept leaving open even though it was horribly windy outside. the hostess also stood right next to the door but never closed it so i had to get up multiple times during the meal to shut it. also, there were plenty of other two person tables that were empty. don't know why she chose to give us that one.<br/>#2: i ordered an iced coffee and when the waitress brought it to me she did not give me any milk or cream. she left before i noticed and it took me a good 5 minutes to get the attention of anyone working there. finally i got the attention of the hostess. this was our conversation:<br/>me: "hi, could i please get some milk for my coffee?"<br/>hostess: "i'm sorry, you want a glass of milk?"<br/>me: "yes i would like some milk or cream for my coffee"<br/>hostess: "oh, cream. okay."<br/>and scene.<br/>#3: i ordered a couple of eggs over easy that came with bacon that came with a choice of hash browns, fruit or cottage cheese plus your choice of toast. i am allergic to yeast and it is also passover so even if i wanted to eat toast i couldn't. when i ordered i asked the waitress if i could sub some cottage cheese for toast. she told me they didn't do substitutions. great. because it's so hard to put a scoop of ready made cottage cheese on a plate instead of toast. awesome.<br/>#4: when the food arrived i cut into my eggs and discovered they were incredibly under done. it was like they threw some eggs into a frying pan and cooked them until just the outside was white therefore leaving the insides completely clear and uncooked. yum. again it took a while to get our waitress and she took them away and then returned to ask if that was how i ordered it. i said no i ordered them over easy, not undercooked. <br/>#5: after we were done with our food she came by again and we asked for the check and then for some reason she took my sister's unfinished drink away from her. she had a glass of orange juice that was half full and instead of asking if she was finished she just took it away. idiot. <br/><br/>the best part of this entire experience was the check came quickly and we got to leave!

Could be good if it wasn't so iffy. Actually work in the office building where The Waffle is housed so have tried it a number of times now. The concept is good, the menu enticing, if only there was some consistency in their delivery. First time there had a wicked corned beef sandwich, good amount of meat, nice balance with the coleslaw, on a flavorful toasted rye. There again yesterday and the amount of meat on the sandwich cut in half, coleslaw watery, and although I ordered rye bread again ended up with wheat. Got mix of fries and onion rings (actually crispy onions) which were tasty but didn't come with anything to dip with them. Got a horseradishy cocktail sauce with them before, but the sauce and even mere ketchup apparently now comes only by request. Previous experiences have been similar, i.e., what you order and enjoy on one visit is sorely lacking or not even available when you return, numerous instances of many menu items no longer being served, without explanation and even though still appearing on the menu. Eggs can be good, hash browns are nice and crispy, waffles are flavorful, sandwiches full of good ingredients, the problem is consistency and a constant sense of surprise when what you get is not necessarily what you intended when you ordered. The front of the house staff is trying extremely hard, making apologies to diners some of whom seem to be waiting for extended periods of time for items which never appear, but just looking through the kitchen opening reveals a crowded and disorganized scene. I know the chef has a lot of past restaurant experience, but more than a month after opening that sort of scene is unacceptable. Maybe she's just unhappy there; every time I've seen her make an appearance in the dining room she's seemed surly. Kudos to the bartender upstairs. Stopped in one evening after work and got her Waffle Martini, which she has created from a blending of vodka, a ginger liqueur and a bit of maple syrup.

Great Food! Great Service!. We had a big birthday party at midnight on a Saturday night and the folks at The Waffle couldn't have been better. They set up a great table and had a team of waiters to help out. The food was amazing and came out FAST. The variety on the menu meant everyone had something great to eat. It was perfect. VERY highly recommended.

Great Place!. Been to The Waffle for lunch and dinner. Love the different varieties of waffles - cornmeal jalapeno waffle and sticky bun waffles are my favorite! Delicious shakes, and great all-American cooking. The Mac and Cheese is amazing! They have tons of different varieties of hash browns, egg scrambles, and of course classics such as meatloaf, burgers and fried chicken. There is even a vegan/vegetarian menu. Atmosphere is fun and hip and there is full bar located in their upstairs lounge.

Before my Dad had to leave for the airport, we were able to have dinner out together one more time. It involved some crazy driving in DTLA for the most part—taking 10 minutes just to turn at a corner 0.3 miles ahead—but we were able to push the driving-associated frustrations aside when we sat down at the Nickel Diner. Looking at the outside of the restaurant, it looked like the entrance to a quaint little bakery. Inside however, it seemed like a grand lounge from the 50’s or something, with high ceilings and seats all around. Not a big fan of the dim lighting though. I didn’t have to open the main menu at all when the placard with the day’s specials were handed to me. I was fixed on the Sloppy Veggie Jo, and asked for my side to be cooked spinach. Dad had the vegan chili. The Sloppy Jo was an interesting version: it was an open-faced sandwich, and the “meat” was actually cremini mushrooms (even though the menu said portabello?) chopped up into miniscule pieces that would have fooled anyone into thinking it was actually meat. I had to ask my server again just to make sure it really was meat-free! So much cheese though—and so good! While I was chowing down like a ravenous dog on my sandwich, my Dad was able to ask the server about the history of the diner. Apparently it was restored from an older restaurant from the 40’s, and the “this is the place” signage was originally part of that older restaurant. Gotta love tableside history lessons ! For the remainder of the week, I went back to out-of-my-apartment meals, but was still on a diner kick come Saturday. After a late start, I hopped on the Metro Rail and headed up to Hollywood to check out The Waffle. Another busy Saturday at another popular restaurant, meaning the only available seats were at the counter. Awkward picture-taking, but I was successful in the end I wasn’t to overwhelmed by the menu either, since they had neatly arranged the vegetarian-friendly selections under their own category! 2 of my favorite things: alcohol and waffles (my 2nd favorite b-fast food behind cereal). The place is appropriately named, The Waffle, in Hollywood, across from the Arclight.

I think that I'd be really good at naming dishes at restaurants-I'd concoct names for dishes that would excite your mind and pique your curiosity. Like, if I worked for The Waffle , I'd rename
