Review Nat's Early Bite - Los Angeles

Richard Chan
I’ve been coming to this cafe/diner for years and about time I write a review. This place can get really busy and the parking lot is very often full, so just park on the street, but make sure to look at the parking signs. My go to order is the Corn Beef has plate Corn beef- well done Tater tots- well done Eggs- over medium And I opted for the coffee muffin and everything was super delicious! What make it even more special is their amazing salsa, It’s one of my favorite restaurant salsas. And the service, AMAZING as always, super attentive and easy going. Thanks Nats for the consistency, service and great food.

This is a local neighborhood gem in Sherman Oaks/Van Nuys area. My daughter and I flew down to visit my son and this is his go-to for breakfast. The staff are super friendly and attentive. We visited on a busy Sunday morning. Our wait wasn't long. Breakfast was delicious, hot and fresh. I will definitely be back!

Best eats in town but almost always super busy with challenging parking and a waitlist. Discovered that you can beat the crowd, though! Park right out front and get an easy table if you arrive right when they open. This is my new favorite time to come for great service and delicious food.

THIS IS A MUST VISIT. Shoutout to our wonderful server, Leslie, she really made the experience stand out. Almost everything on the menu is homemade; spicy turkey sausage, muffins (try the pineapple, fried), sourdough, and DONT forget the salsa. Seriously, the homemade salsa is to die for. You can buy fresh jars to take home — unfortunately we were on a long road trip and it wouldn’t store, but Leslie was gracious enough to give us some small take home containers for a snack on the road. Truly a fantastic experience and the food was delicious. 🙏 We will be back.

I drove 3 hours to eat at this breakfast gem. I got the Chilaquiles, and they were delicious. My kid got the French toast perfectly made. Orange juice was freshly squeezed, which is unheard of now a days. Parking was tricky but ended up finding on the side streets. Service was quick and attentive. The establishment was clean. Overall, I had a pleasant experience, and I'm definitely returning.

Our visit was amazing. Can’t believe the muffins are made fresh daily. Thank you Leslie for making our visit so special and memorable.

The food is always delicious. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Prices are good. I’ve never had a bad experience in all the years I’ve been coming here.

I’ve always had a hard time finding a “go to” diner and Nats always satisfies me tremendously. So far I’ve only had their breakfast and soon, I cannot wait to enjoy their lunches. I hope Nats sticks around for a long time because I am definitely a returning customer.

Not much to choose if you are watching your saturated fat. I ordered sides of beans without cheese, and Cole slaw. Both very good. We ordered online and it was ready when I got there. No frills very busy restaurant. Staff nice.

I highly recommend this establishment, particularly their breakfast and lunch offerings. I went to the one in Woodland Hills and Sherman Oaks and have been consistently impressed. Excellent breakfast@ The staff is friendly and welcoming. I plan to return and bring friends and family with me.

My 3rd time there. Foods great and everyone there works super hard. I ordered the green chile chilaquillas with tater tots. Oh and their muffins are the best.

Even though it was full the wait was 20 minutes, the hosts servers and runners were all attentive and nice. We looked at the menu as we waited so we knew what to order. The food came out fast, warm and delicious I had the Banana Walnut French Toast & my bf had the chilaquiles both very yummy.

I personally had ordered the steak and eggs which came up exceptionally well I would recommend this place too many other people for the fact that this homemade cooking is top of the line and I'm very critical person upon this. Highly recommended

Update, 3 years later and still my favorite breakfast place. French toast is so good! Staff is always so nice and service is quick for as busy as they usually are. Clean restrooms, great prices and portions! ************* Love their breakfast! First time eating inside, usually take it to go. They're always so nice, fast service and today's experience was great. They were busy, but service was still awesome! Would definitely recommend.

Hidden breakfast gem in the valley. Service is second to none and food is exceptional. Bacon and sausage were perfectly cooked and OJ was freshly squeezed. Pricing is fair. Would definitely recommend.

Absolutely phenomenal. Really. The food, tasty coffee, wonderful waitress, really everything was spot on. The chilequites were awesome as were the waffles, ommelettes, everything. Also, their jam was brilliant. I should've bought some...

Believe the hype. Legitimately the best American diner. Also, very heartening that there is rarely staff turnover. The employees are obviously happy and well taken care of. My usual order is the California Benedict. They also bake their own muffins and make salsa.

Nat’s Early Bite Coffee Shop and Diner is a long time favorite of mine. It’s my regular stop when I’m in the Van Nuys area. They do breakfast and lunch (but known for their breakfast) and are a local favorite. This place has a long history (three decades in the Sherman Oaks area) and has a cool story about the original owner selling the place to one of his busboys. They actually have several Eggs Benedict variations. Some of the favorites are the Corned Beef Hash Benedict, the California Benedict and Canadian Bacon Benedict. On their menu you will also find a killer chilaquiles dish and a Jewish matzoh brie. Breakfast is served all day and comes complete with either a cinnamon roll or a muffin. The line for a table is pretty long on the weekends. But Nat’s is one of those places you don’t mind the long wait because next door is a classic antique toy store that has some really cool stuff that will take you back to your childhood. Most of the people waiting in line hang out in there. Portions are huge and don’t let how the place looks outside turn you off.

Today I went to Nat’s Delicatessen in Van Nuys at 11:00am, a
restaurant I have frequented for the last 15 years with excellent service. When I wasn’t waited on after others who came
in later were, I complained to one of the waitresses. She said she would tell
my server. A waitress eventually came
over and took my order. She served me
coffee and, a few minutes later, brought my order. When I
wanted a refill on the coffee, the waitress was nowhere to be seen. I waited a few minutes and had to again ask
another waitress to summon my server. Eventually my server came and then
brought coffee. I told her that I wanted
to talk to the Manager (owner). She gave
me a bunch of excuses and I again said I wanted to talk to the Manager. She
came back and said he was busy and would eventually come out. A half an hour passed and I was ready pay my
bill and leave. I again asked another employee
to talk to the manager. I was told he was busy and would be out shortly. After several more requests, I was told the
manager was too busy to talk to me.

Since there was restricted parking and I had to get my car
by noon, I paid my bill and again asked to see the manager to no avail. I paid
the bill with my American Express card and wrote on the signed receipt, “VERY BAD
SERVICE. I’VE BEEN COMING HERE FOR 15 YEARS AND I DON’T LIKE IT WHEN I AM TOLD ‘CHINGATE’”. I handed my signed receipt to an employee to
take to the erstwhile manager which he did. I then left Nat’s and went home.

Excellent well-priced diner food served by attentive staff

Won't be disappointed. The menu has plenty to choose from. Portions are good for the most part. Interesting dishes all around and great service.

Sausage. First restaurant I've been to in LA which has a 'sausage menu.' About 12 kinds of sausage, most of them turkey-based. The ones we tried were all very tasty.

Great breakfast spot. Waited 20 minutes for a table. Shopped in the nostalgic toy store next door. Fantastic service once seated. Cinnamon roll, home fries, French toast, Greek omelet, spicy sausage all worth coming back for. One of us said "best omelet ever." Not fans of the bacon (deep fried) and the grits.

My new local diner. Just moved to the area and had to try Nat's. Breakfast did not disappoint. Everything made from scratch and very tasty. I will definitely be back.

Lots of great breakfast choices.. Needed an early bite before all day meetings in Van Nuys. I could have studied their deep breakfast menu for a couple hours.

Their breakfast menue offers about 8 different types of sausages -- with differing meat and vegetarian options.

I had a chorizo scramble -- generous with chorizo and avocado. The house salsa was both flavorful and hot. Hash browns were generous and fresh. There was choice of a half dozen warm muffins. I chose the morning glory (aka "carrot").

The 3 guys I travelled with each had sausage and eggs with differing muffins.

Sleepy restaurant with attentive servers and well made food.
Great restaurant worth a drive to get to

Best veggie omelet. Mom's home cooking without the lecture. (Sorry, Mom). Best veggie omelet around. Topped with avacado slices & sprouts. Just really good home cooking. Not a fancy place to dine but very good food. Clean place/friendly staff.

There's nothing better/easier than Nat's. It's crowded for breakfast on the weekends, but that's because they're so good at what they do. From omlettes to turkey burgers, I've never been disapponted with them. Oh yeah, and you might find yourself struggling with parking, because several businesses in this strip mall are doing well. Make sure to check out "Big Kid Collectable" next door too. It's perfect for birthday gifts that won't cost you an arm and a leg.

Simply the best breakfast place in the valley... Maybe in all of la. Simple, delicious, amazing service...
The Scarlet Manuka
By far the best breakfast joint we have found in LA. It's always crowded yet we always get seated quickly; service is always brisk and attentive; and substitutions are never a problem. Order breakfast off the specials menu and you'll always be happy with their delicious, creative take on breakfast. Coffee is excellent too, and the strawberry rhubarb pie is perfect.

Fairly good food, fast service... But parking is a Nightmare!!!
