Review The Bar At Hotel Bel-air - Los Angeles

Reed B
We wanted the Restaurant at Hotel Bel-Air to be something other than a nice hotel restaurant in a fancy hotel, but at the end of the day that is all it really is. The food was all good and presented well but $15-$20 per item overpriced which is hard to justify when the food isn’t incredibly special. Service was good but not the memorable service you expect at these price points. The ambience was great however and it was fun to walk around the resort afterwards. Do I feel like I need to rush back? No. Was it fine for what it was? Yes.

Good service & great food. They even have individual fans to bring to each table if you get warm. Also, check out the swans swimming in the pond.

Went there on Wednesday afternoon, very quiet and people were even doing interview next to us with a celebrity. Amazing environment with old trees and nice little creek. The ice creams were very good especially the chocolate one. The only way to visit is to do valet and it’s $15 with validation, something to note. A great place for people to talk privately and also a high end /community vibe cafe/ bar within bel air.

Came here for a birthday and had a great dining experience. You eat on a covered outdoor patio. The food and drinks are definitely expensive, but you are paying for quality and the experience. I started off the night with Pepino’s Revenge for my drink which is their tequila special. It was a very refreshing alcoholic beverage with the cucumber and tequila working perfectly together. The swan ice cube was a nice touch as well. I split the cacio e pepe and california king salmon with my girlfriend. The cacio e pepe was good, but I have to say it was nothing to write home about. There wasn’t anything spectacular about it. The california king salmon on the other hand was absolutely phenomenal. Honestly some of the best salmon I’ve ever eaten. Very flavorful and just seemed so unbelievably fresh. I really enjoyed that dish and highly recommend it. This is a good spot to come for a special occasion, it’s in a beautiful area and if you don’t mind spending a little extra money I think it’s worth it.

First of all, its awesome place. The hotel itself is already awesome. We had a great service from the servers at the restaurant and the foods were all good. Thank you so much for the great services. Two thumbs up for all the servers who have served for us. Especially, the lambchop (i think it was about $200 for full rack) I think that one was really really delicious. We have ordered two pastas that were about $50(?) each I think... please dont order pastas unless you really crave them because its really not worth it. We were all disappointed about the pastas. They have awesome cocktail bar and the parking fee was decent (i think it was $10 for valet.) Sorry, it been a while so I cannot clearly remember the pirces. Oh, uni and the bread basket were also great. Especially, i loved the breads. They have provided us the birthday cake for my mom and the cake was also awesome. Thank you so much.

In the center of Los Angeles, The Restaurant at Hotel Bel-Air is an opulent dining establishment that epitomizes sophistication and elegance. When you enter this exclusive establishment, you are welcomed by a charming atmosphere that deftly blends traditional sophistication with contemporary attractiveness. The restaurant is situated in a beautiful enclave within the charming Hotel Bel-Air, surrounded by lush gardens and peaceful swans floating over a glistening pond. Let's now discuss the food, which is the real star of the show. Talented chefs who are passionate about their work offer a culinary voyage at The Restaurant at Hotel Bel-Air. Every meal is

Excellent staff, nice atmosphere, good food, but why 4 🌟's? You better have a lot of $$$$ saved up before you order your food. My suggestion to Mr Puck is can you get some affordable items on the menu, please? I love everything but...

This place is a little intimidating to say the least. But holy sheet, its so nice. Everyone including the host and servers were incredibly humble and kind. The person sitting at the concierge desk was a bit stuck up. No problem, not the restaurants fault. Go for the cheese board to start off the night. You can never say no to some good cheese. Or... was that at the hotel bar??? Whatever. Just go here for the ambiance! And there bathroom is nicer than my room! The lotion smelled so good I even took a picture of it!!!

Updated Oct 2020 Came back here for another work dinner and had an excellent time. This is a really good option for celebrating a special occasion, trying to impress some clients, or just get some peace and quiet away from the city. The highlight of the meal was when Wolfgang Puck came to our table and shot the breeze not just once, but twice! He was super friendly and recommended the sea bass, crudo, and chocolate soufflé. The complimentary pretzel bread they give is nice and chewy, and there’s a sourdough option as well. To summarize my second visit: Pirates cove oysters - super fresh and I liked the spicy sauce that you could sprinkle on top. Cacio e Pepe with Maine Lobster: Pasta was perfectly chewy and coated in a peppery sauce. The lobster was tender and I really enjoyed this. Chocolate soufflé: Solid dessert choice; a bit on the smaller side but I liked the creme fraiche it came with on the side Cookies: We got half chocolate chip and half pumpkin (the seasonal flavor). There’s ~6 cookies to an order. Lots of chocolate in the cookie, and it was on the softer side rather than crunchy. Service was unobtrusive and prompt. It’s outdoor seating and masks are required whenever you’re not seated at the table. Cards are accepted or you can put it on your room tab. Definitely on the pricey side. Overall, a really great experience! Sept 2020 Classy hotel restaurant that’s currently offering outdoor dining service in covid. The staff is very diligent in ensuring everyone is wearing masks and there’s a ton of hand sanitizer. Came here for a small work dinner and it’s a good spot to have an intimate meal or to do some business. You may spot a few celebs since the hotel is a bit out of the way, and offers a good amount of privacy (we saw James Corden). The food was fresh and high quality. The complimentary bread was warm and I would recommend partaking in the seafood. The Santa Barbara uni was a standout and I liked the salsa that accompanied it. The oysters were also super fresh, and the prawns were standard. For the main course, I did split the wiener schnitzel (which is apparently a Wolfgang Puck classic) along with the summer truffle pasta that had handmade tagliatelle. The pasta was delicious and creamy, but the wiener schnitzel seemed like any other schnitzel (the only difference being that it’s made with veal). The sides included arugula, cherry tomatoes, potatoes, and some thinly sliced cucumber in a yogurt dill sauce that I liked. For dessert, the hazelnut chocolate bar is small so get a coupe to share. The creme fraiche gelato was delightful and the dessert itself reminds me of a Ferrero Roche with a light chocolate mousse inside. They have a fully stocked bar and they have some pretty good mocktail options. Service is prompt and professional. If you’re getting dropped off at the hotel entrance, just go straight down the hallway and up the stairs then turn right. Bathrooms are right next to the courtyard on the left hand side (the lighting in the ladies room is quite nice). Overall, it’s a good spot to feel like you’re leaving LA and indulging in a quiet meal.

One of THE loveliest places to dine in all of LA located in one of my top favorite hotels, The Hotel Bel Air Beverly Hills. Filet is mouth watering and choosing one item from the desert menu will be one of the toughest life decisions you can make. Presentation of the food is picture worthy. Service is flawless. Halibut, when on the menu, is perfection.

My husband and I are vegan and we dined here this past Sunday, December 9. There were more than enough options for us on the menu and we ordered the following dishes: two of the Grilled Eggplant with Cauliflower Hummus entrée’s, one of the “Impossible Bolognese” pasta entrée’s, and Mango sorbet for dessert. Our server started us out with warm bread rolls with olive oil and vinegar and the chef surprised us with compliments of a Butternut Squash puree. I cannot stop DREAMING about how amazing that “Impossible Bolognese” was and I cannot wait to have it again *hopefully soon*! Impossible has partnered with a number of very good restaurants across the states and in LA, but this is the first time we experienced Impossible incorporated into an Italian pasta dish and it was soooooo delicious; it literally tasted just like traditional meat sauce. I highly recommend Julian as a server as he was not only very attentive, but a genuinely nice person, and very charismatic! :)

The beautiful airy environment, and WP's food makes this place a perfect pick for a relaxing (or a working) lunch. With excellent, friendly and attentive service - and some of the go-to favorites on the menu, WP is simply a great lunch spot.
