As we walked in, we were instantly greeted by a smiling gentleman and escorted to a table. Our server was there in less than a minute, and coffee was fast. The many great reviews about the food are well deserved, and they have a slightly different take on many dishes...all good. I would have given a straight 5 except for the atmosphere. The kitchen area faces you and is pretty messy. My wife used to manage restaurants and said she would have a "come to Jesus" meeting the moment she took charge. The bussing cart was next to seating booths, there were boxes, food, dishes, and all else piled everywhere in the kitchen with no apparent organization. That being said, it was busy, and the food and service made up for it.

In from San Antonio, Texas for quick Queen Mary and USS Iowa trip. Outstanding, food, friendly staff and classic atmosphere. Really enjoyed the eggs with tamale and the churro waffles😉❤️❤️

We were amazed at how smoothly the restaurant ran with just two servers also serving as host/hostess on a busy Saturday! The food was some of the best breakfast food we’ve ever had and the service was quick and friendly. It was a fast walk from the Crowne Plaza Hotel also. Try the Nopales omelette with steak if they have it!

The staff lives up to its name, very happy and vibrant vibe, great service. Food came out super quick and tasted fresh and nice. $30 for two breakfast and 2 juices.

What an epic menu ranging from breakfast to burgers, Mexican to Italian, and everything in between - there was so many things to choose from that we got more than one thing to eat!😄 I was feeling some Huevos Rancheros and a Carne asada quesadilla with fajita veggies, which were outstanding! My friend ordered the Mexican omlet and carne asada tacos, which were promptly devoured. My wife was feeling a more traditional breakfast of french toast with scrambled eggs, which were cooked perfectly. The service was prompt and friendly, even with us sitting on the patio during a Sunday brunch hour, and our orders came out in a timely fashion. There's definitely many more things we wanted to try, and with that plenty of reasons to return 🔥

Nice little diner just down the street from our place. We chose to sit outside for our Sunday breakfast, but they had the indoor dining setup as well. The staff was inviting, attentive, and had our much-needed cups of coffee in our hands in a manner of minutes. My girlfriend ordered the Chilaquiles with green sauce, while I went with the Country Skillet. Neither of us were disappointed, nor had zero chance of finishing the generous portions. With a charming friendly staff, and tasty food, we’ll for sure be back.

I go out to breakfast a lot, and Happy Diner might just be the best place I've been to. Great location downtown, with plenty of parking nearby. Nice lived in vibe, with FANTASTIC outdoor seating I hope they keep. Waitstaff was amazing, and actually gave an opinion on what to choose!👍I had the basic two egg breakfast with hamburger patty, and as recommend, it was perfect! They have a VERY extensive menu that we will have to go back for!!!

Happiness is abundant here. The food is really good and hot off the grill. Clearly a family run joint that aims to please. We shared a ILWU breakfast plate. Really enjoyed it and you will too.

Excellent food and service! Had the BBQ bacon cheese burger with onion rings and fries. It was so good! The milk shakes are amazing too! Definitely recommend!

We just Google, food near our air b&b. We saw this place was the closest and were hoping for good food. We lucked out! We have 2 picky eaters, their menu was huge! They have something for everyone. A few had breakfast, the rest of us had lunch. Everything was delicious and the staff was so nice!!

Breakfast at the Happy Diner is the BEST! The ingredients are fresh and every order placed is made to perfection. The biscuits are high and have the consistency of cake. The staff, though busy, is friendly and helpful. Located right down the block and around the corner from the hotel made it convenient and easy to walk right past the hotel restaurant.

My wife and I happened upon this place before we boarded our cruise. I had the cornbeef hash, and she had the waffles. It was filling and delectable. Stop by if you're heading to San Pedro. You'll definitely enjoy this place.
