Came here after a day of shopping. Family likes diners. We got in just in time for the dinner rush. They were just cleaning up a table and then we were seated. We haven't been to Ruby's in over 4 years so it was great to be back.
We started with peanut butter cup shake and chili to share. The A/C was cranked up and the chili unfortunately got cold. I also got a strawberry lemonade which I really liked.
For mains, 3 of us got the Guacamole burger - it was great but a little dry. I got sweet potato fries which was great and the other 2 got fries which were also great. My son got mac and cheese which was good but too small - he was still hungry.
Food was great. Server was friendly albeit a little slow due to the number of customers. Place was bustling with customers and so was a bit noisy. We'll be back.

Back again 11/16/23 almost the same order 50/50 orange milk shake Ruby's club and sweet potatoe fries 🍟 😋 had to come in and sit down for lunch. It has been a while since I stopped at this location. Service was fast food was out be for the milk shake, ambiance was typical for a Ruby's restaurant.

I had dinner here with my son this Memorial Day weekend this Sunday evening.
It was a little bit crowded but the wait was about 10 minutes. The service was great and our waitress was very attentive.
We ordered and our food and our order came in no less than 10 minutes.
Great food and great service, we will definitely be coming back here again.

Good sit-down restaurant in the outlet mall. They serve comfort foods and plenty of ice water during hot daytime.

Us: got the melt and the original. The melt is pretty good considering the price. And the chili fries...I mean fries are always good, but ruby was worth getting the chili for.
Others: surprisingly enough, this place is very affordable and have a dedicated parking for the diner as well, which is nice.
I hear good things about shake& malts but it was late so we didn't get it. I will say that their fries are pretty good considering the type of diner it is.
To owners: my thx to Astrid for serving well

My friend and I went to the citadel to check something out. We were hungry so I suggested Ruby's. He was like the food probably isn't that great you know how these places are. So I convinced him to try it. He was very surprised how good the food was. In fact he was really surprised how good the food actually was.
We both had pancakes with eggs ( I had bacon and he had ham). Came with 3 thick pancakes. He raved about the coffee. And when the bill came we were both shocked.
For the food we ate we thought it would have been more. Imagine that good coffee, good food, good prices, and great service.
Will definitely go back there again.

We went for mothers day, it was a wonderful experience . The service was friendly, and very fast. We got seated right away and someone came to offer us something to drink. We ordered 4 malts, strawberry banana 8/10- it could've been colder. The food was delicious, well cooked and served with a lot of French fries.
We loved this place, from the food to the v aesthetic.

We needed to get out for a bit and found this place online. It is located in an incredibly crowded retail outlet so parking was an issue. We paid $8. The food is good and the malt was fabulous.

Excellent menu with each item being delicious. Simple pimple american diner that also serves beer on tap. The employees are all exceptional too.

I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are hungry after shopping at Citadel outlet. The food were cheap and tasted good. The service was excellent. We ordered two classic ruby burger with cheese and a cobb salad. The burgers’ patties were juicy, and the buns were nice and crispy. If you don’t know what to eat at the outlet, this restaurant will not disappoint you.

Had dinner there tonight, and received nothing but excellent service, great food, and a very clean atmosphere. Had a delicious hickory smoked bacon hamburger that is a must have the impossible burger was very very good as well. Had a great dinner and enjoyed the warm atmosphere from the host to the waiter/waitresses all the way up to the manager on duty.

Cool american diner with old-style vibes.
Service is good, waiters are cheerful and eager to help.
Food is good: had the chicken tenders for starters and then a burger with a shake. Burgers are tasty and shakes are amazing (with an ample selection)

We were a group of 6 people. We ordered the frings , calamari and their new chicken, the three appetizers were alright, the burgers were not as expected and neither was the fish and ships. Service was good, staff are nice but they dont make it for the food.

Visited Ruby's Diner for breakfast during our stay at Doubletree Hilton Commerce next to the Citadel Outlet Mall.

We ordered a mexican breakfast platter and a cheese omelette with sausages and spud potatoes.

The food was average overall. Quite greasy. Good quick service

After a busy day shopping amongst one of the best outlet shopping malls in LA, we decided to feast at Ruby’s Diner for a late lunch. The decor was the stereotypical American Diner, which I loved, complete with the old hotted up car as the service counter and the waiters and waitresses wearing the red and cream striped costumes/uniforms. The staff were polite and showed us to our table outside in the beautiful LA sunshine, before bringing us two large lemon waters and lunch menus to look over.

Ruby’s Diner is a restaurant chain that reproduces the look and feel of the classic American Diner. Bright red vinyl booths, white Formica tables, soda fountains, milkshakes, burgers, antique Coca-Cola posters and commercial art echo the Swing Era of the 1940s.

This particular Ruby’s is located at the historical Citadel Outlet, built more than 75 years ago and is located just 10 minutes south of Downtown Los Angeles or 25 minutes north of Anaheim off Interstate 5 and Atlantic. The location is in the heart of the outlet shopping area, and is one of the few sit down places this outlet has to offer. Another bonus of eating at this place is they offer parking just for the restaurant. I found parking immediately, and then after eating, did some quick shopping before heading back to my spot.

Retro diner with decent food in a place with not much choice. Apart from the food outlets in cidatel, theres not much else in the way of a proper sit down meal service. Ruby's diner is a huge retro looking diner complete with 50s hair and make up waitresses. Its quite busy but our wait was barely 5 min. The service was lovely, and the food was decent. Not the best burgers I've had, but definily a generous portion with tasty food. For those who aren't wanting just burgers, theres a range of sandwiches including the likes of other meals such as nachos, chicken tenders, fish and chips. They even do low carb option, such as a burger with lettuce wrap which i enjoyed!
