Most amazing flavors ever experienced in my life. There is a reason why this restaurant has been around for almost 50 years. Enough said! Still dreaming about returning for more!

Anytime I come to LA from NYC I always make it a point to stop at Madeo. The penne madeo is so simple yet it’s probably the best pasta dish I’ve ever had ! Service food always on point I wish they had an east coast location.

Authentic Northern Italian cuisine served in a cozy setting. The saffron-sauced pasta dish with shrimp was delicious. Moved to BH and no longer on Sunset location.

Great ambiance, beautiful interior, delicious food, great service from our server Dario, the hosts and managers, such friendly diners. Overall we had a lovely evening at their newest spot. Updated photo of the new location.

Food was pretty solid at this celebrity hotspot. Recommend the spaghetti Bolognese, the linguini vongole (clams), and the sliced veal. Portions we're pretty small and the prices definitely aren't cheap but the service was great and they split all the food to share. Try to get a seat inside and not the porch, but outside wasn't too bad. Also Sicilian wine we got was marked up by almost four times, from 60 bucks before shipping to 230. Get that it's BH but that markup is insane.

What can I say about this restaurant....it is simply amazing in every way. The cuisine is unbelievably delicious. Every single bite is pure joy! No matter what dish you choose, you can count on it being singularly fantastic! From front to back, the staff is like a finely-tuned machine working their magic! The seductive and enchanting ambience complements the overall experience.

Good professional service. The owner is there and often comes around to the tables to say greet you in. Lovely vibe. Make sure to book or if you want a seat for walkin, try an early dinner say 6:00/6:30pm the speck pizza with marscapone was something delicious, slightly sweet and simple but fulfilling.

Madeo is simple incredible. I was in awe the entire time and I will 100% be back. Thank you for a one of a kind dining experience. This is what a night out is supposed to be.

Madeo offers an unforgettable dining experience with incredibly authentic Italian cuisine served in a classy and elegant setting. The service is exceptionally professional and meticulous. What makes Madeo special is the attention to detail, the professionalism of the staff, and the taste and freshness of the ingredients. An array of decadent desserts are shown to customers after the main meal; the creme caramel is incredibly sublime, while the millefeuille and profiteroles are the best this side of the Atlantic. Choices of main courses and starters are numerous, and the regular specials are worth ordering. Thank you Madeo for your hospitality and indeed for the finest, freshest, and most delightful meal I have tasted in Los Angeles!

Top Notch Pasta, Friendly Service<br/><br/>It is rare when a restaurant that is one of those "to see and be seen" places that also has fabulous food. This is one of them. Ignore the people watching, and pay attention to the menu. I had pasta with sea urchin (it was a special) and it was one of the best plates of pasta I have ever had. My friend had pasta with soft shell crab, and that was delicious. The staff ( we sat in the bar) are warm and welcoming. True professionals. I have been to Madeo a few times now, and will ALWAYS go back when I am in B Hills.

My other favorite Italian restaurants in Los Angeles. Highly recommended to try the truffle pasta! Basically you can go wrong with it. Dont forget to treat yourself with some desserts too!<br/><br/>p.s: lots of celebrity sighting here!

Fun Place<br/><br/>I arrived at this restaurant around 9pm last night,And the place was packed but the lady at the front desk managed to get me a chair at the bar for dinner,My interest was to have an authentic Italian style pasta so I started with vegetable soup’ministrone!’and Madeo Penne and for desert lemoni tart ,All were fantastic. The Place it self friendly and cozy and staff are fun to chat with despite their work load,To say the least i really had a good time.

The Guess Expression. Have been at Madeo half a dozen time. The food is the absolutes remarkable Italian as I've had anywhere in LA. and have been to some of the finest Italian restaurants in New York. The service is impeccable and the crowd exceptionally well selective up scale trendy. <br/><br/>I would hardly say that it was expensive by LA standards and certainly NOT by New York standards. I have had the pleasure of eating here on several occasions over the past year and a half and have been duly impressed each and every time by the guess expression. <br/><br/>Mozzarella and Heirloom Tomato Caprese: Mozzarella, Tomato and Basil: the fresh house-made mozarella are magnificent<br/>Carpaccio: Filet mignon--sliced very thin, served with artichokes, Parmigiano cheese and lemon juice are marvelous<br/>A specialty meatball appetizer that almost New York style are fantastic<br/>Linguine Al Pesto: Fresh basil, olive oil and garlic sauce delicious<br/>*Branzino all'Isolana: Broiled Italian sea bass served with sliced potatoes and tomatoes is personal favored

Overpriced.. The food here is good, there's no doubt, but you can get comparable food at a third the price nearby. Or you could get really excellent food for the same price at Angelli or Osteria Mozza. <br/><br/>This place is good for tourists keen to see celebrities, but not adequate for locals or real food people looking for something delicious.<br/><br/>(It's good for awkward first dates, because it's dark and trendy and if the date goes wrong you can always talk about what Jessica Simpson's wearing at the next table.)
Viktor
Great food. Despite other reviews commenting on the price I found it to be no more expensive than other high end restaurants. If you want top notch Italian rather than molecular gastronomy then treat yourself at Madeo.

Amazing Food. Madeo's food is really incredible. Unfortunately, it's popularity makes it a very loud venue. Go on an off-night if you want to hear the person across the table from you. But if you just want a great meal, any night will do.

Not Quite Worth the Price of Admission. After dining here we found the service to be friendly and the food to be well prepared, but ultimately the meal wasn't worth the hefty price tag when compared to competitive offerings. On the most recent visit Al Pacino was eating at a table across from us and this appears to be a celebrity hotspot. If you're visiting from out of town and looking to see celebrities or if you want a good Italian meal where price is no object, then Madeo is probably right for you.
