Went onto yelp craving cookies, and stumbled upon Diddy Riese. I saw pictures of cookies so I just assumed it was a cookie store...little did I realize it was a popular ice cream shop once I saw the line haha.
We ended up getting cookies (snickerdoodle and chocolate chip w/ walnuts) and a shave ice.
The cookies were good and satisfied my craving. Shave ice was standard.
I do think their ordering is a bit inefficient. They should have a different line for folks who either want just cookies or shave ice. They would be able to go through lines a lot more efficiently.
Cash only that day with the credit card machine randomly going down, which was a bit annoying.

Gotta love Diddy Riese! $4.50 ice cream sandwiches (as of August 2023) made from freshly baked cookies and rwo scoops of very good ice cream. Served in a bowl with a spoon so that you can eat the ice cream and nibble away at the cookies

It was so delicious and for a great price, it’s worth it the visit here!
Just keep in mind that is can be empty of people, and in just seconds, it full get too crowded with a long line outside.
It’s very popular in town and I loved it.
I tried my whole Chocolate Macadamia with Pistachios and Almond Ice Cream.
Thanks to MAX, the guy who took my order, who’s bilingual, speaks in Spanish too, helped me for my first time ordering there.

Absolutely love this place. Can you believe that you can get a dozen of tasty cookies for $5.30 nowadays? No wonder there is always a long line here.
This place has been here since the 80’s. It’s not only popular with the students at UCLA but with the people all over LA who would drive more than an hour to get here for the cookies and ice cream.
Although my daughter is a Trojan, she was still willing to come with us to get the cookies and ice cream with her mom to celebrate her birthday.
We bought a few dozens of cookies for ourselves and to give to friends. Our favorites are the candy and white chocolate cookies.
The cookies are very good to go with ice creams. we ended up with a few cups of ice creams with white chocolate chip cookies. They were so decadent and delicious.
Besides the cookies, their brownies are very good too. For $1 each, it’s a steal for a good brown. I bought half a dozen to take home.
Parking is easy for this place. There is a paid public parking lot right next to the shop.

These cookies are always hitting the spot when you have a sweet craving. We ended up stopping by before they closed and the staff was absolutely warm and personable. They took great care of us and took care of our cookie needs!!

Chocolate chocolate cookie with strawberry cheesecake and chocolate chocolate cookie with coffee ice cream Everything here was delicious ice cream was creamy cookie was kind of on the hard side I’m guessing it’s made that way to hold up the ice cream, raspberry flavor not water down, the SUNDAE appearance on menu looks big but in person is small. No dine in you walk in and you walk out. This place gets super busy so be there early, it’s about 5-15 minute per person order depending on what you’re getting. There is parking meters outside and a parking lot on the side I believe $10 a day. In TOTAL I spend 30.50 here

Great cookies for such an amazing price. Cookies are so fresh and tasty. My wife got the ice cream sandwich and she loved it. We just missed a huge line so we showed up right on time. I highly recommend this place to anyone in the area.

It wasn't quite a magical experience like I was led to believe it would be by other reviewers but I left the place with a wonderful taste and a happy tummy.

Best cookies on earth! I even flew straight from Munich, DE to LA just to taste those amazing cookies which my brother always mentioned. I went straight there from the airport.
For only a small price, you can get so many cookies. Diddy Riese himself is still running this business, he was the nicest guy alive. And those Sundaes.... a dream.
At the end of the day, the also sell leftover cookies for only half the price.
These cookies deserve all the hype in this world, and also are valid the looong queues that build up in front the store.

I think this is one of the best place in LA for delicious cookie and ice cream sandwiches ! Prices are more than affordable but be careful because it tends to be crowded at night, the line can be a bit long so do not be in a hurry
There is a wide choice of cookies, ice cream and brownies that makes you wanna eat it all!
The staff is smily, welcoming and patient while indecisive customers like me are trying to choose the best taste association !
I would definitely recommend to give it a try!

Best ice cream sandwich I ever tried. The cookies are freshly baked, with many different options to choose. That combined with a pretty tasty icecream, makes it the real deal.

Diddy Riese is an LA icon. I have visited many times over the years. They focus on excellent treats at very reasonable prices. The quality is top notch. Everything is tasty and fresh. Their brownies have also always been one of my favorite brownies.
They are in Westwood Village which is next to UCLA and is a fun spot to make a stop.
