Sam's Southern Eatery

While the food was quite good, is this really a restaurant? I've eaten at better roadside QQB stands. Dinner was served on a Styrofoam to go tray with plastic tableware. Two bottles of ketchup served the entire place, with fish being the mainstay of their business there should be ketchup on every table. Oh yes, and let's not forget being given a couple of paper towels for napkins. Based on previous experience with another Sam's Eatery I had suggested the place and brought eight guests with me. It was embarrassing, and none of us will be returning.

Out of oysters, inside was dark, only lights were by the “windows”. Probably best that it was dark because the place was very worn and dated and looked grungy. Played rap music if you like that kind of thing. No napkins, no salt and pepper, no ketchup bottles on the table. Shrimp poboys didn’t have much sauce on them and they didn’t come with the extra shrimp on the side like other Sam’s we visited. Coleslaw cup was half full. Sam’s is going down the tube, doubt very seriously if we go to any more and definitely will not return to the one on Marshall street in Longview Texas.

I ordered the cheese steak and some chicken strips for my kid, so bad neither of would eat it, the cheese steak was greasy and made of what seemed like ground up hamburger meat, not sure what it was but you can tell they have never had a good one in there life. Chicken strips had some kind of awful season on it, never order either one

This place is aweful!!!! The dinning room is dull vaccant & smells bad(i believe is filthy-cant tell with the poor lighting) we have been 3 times over the last yr and this recent visit was the worst. We kept giving them a chance-anybody can have a bad run....but its more than that when the QUALITY of yr SEAFOOD & they way it is cooked-goes badly...I AINT COMING BACK! Unhospitable Nasty place run by Saihed & Hibebe. Plus-Theres a DANGEROUS CURB highstep with no ease ramp...Be Careful! If you dare go.

AMAZING FOOD - GREAT VALUE - FRIENDLY SERVICE. What more can you ask for?!?! The #18 is 4 pieces of fish with fries and a drink for $8.99 ... I assumed the pieces would be small. I WAS WRONG. they were large pieces. The fried green tomatoes were $5.99 and there were 20 pieces of freshly cut and hand battered on location green tomatoes! Suck that Jucy's! On top of a large portion they were delicious!!! Fish had a great texture with light crispy breading. The only thing I didn't 100% live was my side of corn ... It would've been perfect with some salt, pepper and butter. But hey if my only complaint is some bland corn ... That's saying something.
