The Mill is a great little coffee shop with excellent coffee (this is important) and a decent selection of baked goods and sandwiches. It's small but it has a cozy peaceful vibe. Go ahead and pop down to get some work done. Or procrastinate and write a google maps review.
There aren't too many options in this far corner of Long Island City, but even if there were, this establishment makes terrific coffee-based beverages, has great baked goods and they have even recently expanded the menu to include soup and sandwiches. Come by and give it a try.
Cute little coffee shop with limited seating but good food and coffee. I got a croissant and a lavender latte and they were both great! WiFi isnt great though which was a let down as I came to do some work.

This Cafe is a Fantastic
They have a Coffee Best 1 on Long island City
Their coffee is great and the customer service is outstanding. The shop is very clean and spacious, the design is very pretty. Highly recommend it !
Small and cozy. Has a large table for working, but there's only four of them. Bathroom access is easy. They have unique cafe menus. I tried the lavender honey latte which was amazing. Also had their egg breakfast sandwich which was also good. The place seems popular since they also provide delivery service through an app.
Excellent coffee, great local pastries from the best bakeries in the city. Nice atmosphere if you want to hang out, and free wifi. Small place, with only 3 or 4 tables that are often occupied. Prices can be a little higher than elsewhere, but the coffee is excellent. Staff is awesome and friendly as well.
The Mill is my usual weekend indulgence - an Earl Grey for me (iced in the summer), and a latte or a red eye for my husband. The staff is always super friendly, and this is the only place I know of where they don't use excessively hot water and burn the crap out of the tea leaves. I can't really speak for the coffee (though hubby loves it), but the tea is always wonderful and never bitter. The price is comparable to the large chain-that-must-not-be-named, but the quality is infinitely better. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is that the baked goods are almost always as dry as sawdust - they sound interesting but I'm always disappointed. But the drinks and the service keep this spot in my regular rotation.
Coffee lovers... add this to your list of places to take a moment and have a cup of Joe that really just slows the world down around you. The gentleman who was running the place was awesome. Super accommodating and very, very clearly knew his way with the machinery he was using. The place is simple and wonderfully designed on top of it all. I could easily see sitting at a table here, sipping a cap and digesting a new book.
I got a vanilla latte when I visited and it was delightful. Perfectly balanced. No after taste. No heavy bitterness. Just true perfection.
If I ever find myself on this side of town, I will 100% be back and I'll hopefully have time to snag something from the bakery window. It all looked so good. (Gluten free and dairy free options were available too!)
My company is new to the area and I was looking for a breakfast shop and came across The Mill. I like the shop. It's small yet cozy and inviting. Im not a coffee drinker I'm a tea drinker but I like shops that make you feel at home. I also enjoyed the pastries.
