My fav LIC restaurant. I’ve tried everything after multiple visits.
My fav appetizer is def skewers that are tender and juice and flavorful. Seafood paella is great too. And all the meat dishes come with great portions and various side dishes. The portions are always huge and they don’t bend over the quality as well as very reasonable price.
We had a great meal at Jora! We ordered the lomo saltado, the beef was tender and the dish as a whole was quite flavorful just a bit salty. The arroz con pollo was very good, the chicken was so tender. We also ordered the adobo, which wasn’t our favorite. The ceviche mixo was great!
I see a lot of comments about their service but we our server was amazing. She was very attentive.
i think i’ve found one of my new favorite peruvian spots in nyc. i ordered the grilled shrimp black causa, empanadas tasting, and the pastel de choclo. the causa came with perfectly grilled fresh shrimp and a squid ink and aji amarillo potato purée. the shrimp tasted so fresh and the flavor of the purée was perfection. the empanadas were also fantastic. they were perfectly baked (as you can see from the photos) and had the perfect amount of crispiness and a beautiful buttery shell. the meat inside was also piping hot and tender, perfectly seasoned/marinated, and worked so well with the yellow sauce. lastly, my favorite dish of the evening was the pastel de choclo (braised short rib, shiitake, peruvian corn, panca, spanish oveja al romero cheese). when this dish came out even heads from other tables turned to see what smelled so good. it was beautifully baked and underneath (not pictured) was short rib braised to perfection. the short rib with the shiitake complemented each others’ flavor profile so perfectly. the outer shell and toppings also had complementary flavors of cheesy, savory, and even a hint of lemon zesty goodness. all the flavors worked to perfection and this dish alone is worth coming for. highly recommend coming here!
Excellent food and cocktails! A good mix of seafood, meat and rice dishes using an array of Peruvian and South American ingredients like huacatay, choclo, but with a modern flair. Every dish was yummy, service was on point (well staffed and approachable). Will come back again.
Top-notch service, Food is incredible and finger licking. I would highly recommend going here for any occasion. The ambience is romantic and perfect for a first date or for an anniversary celebration. A must try!!!
All around excellent dining experience. Staff are friendly help explain the menu and offer suggestions. Lots of food options and don't be afraid to explore!
What we look for in a great restaurant...friendly and attentive staff...delicious food and great drinks! First time but definitely not the last! I remembered to take pics half way through lol. The presentation was much better than pics 😋 the burrata truffle salad, ceviche, sweet plantains, arroz con mariscos, tres leches yummmmm 😋 and the sangriia 😁🥳
Jora is a must-visit for anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience. The food is simply delicious, with the ceviche being a standout dish that is fresh and full of flavor. The grilled corn causa was also incredibly tasty, and the anticuchos and steak were perfectly cooked and juicy. The service was excellent, and the ambiance was lovely, making for a truly enjoyable evening. The selection of cocktails, pisco, and sangria is fantastic, and I highly recommend Jora to anyone looking for a great meal out. I will definitely be returning!
It was my first time dining at a Peruvian restaurant and gotta say I was not disappointed! Food was amazing from appetizer to entrees.
The ceviche is a must! We ordered ceviche mixto which had a few different seafood items in there. You can also customize your level of spiciness. We also order the grilled octopus which was ones of the better grilled octopuses I’ve eaten in my lifetime.
For the entree I went with lomo saltado which was basically beef cubes sautéed with soy sauce, onions and tomatoes. I was blown away at how tender the meat was! It was such a great treat to eat with rice!
Highly recommend and I cannot wait to come back
The atmosphere is business casual. The restaurant is very big with a lot of seating. There is a full bar in the back. You can't go wrong with any of the cocktails either. The presentation of the food is so lovely with floral embellishments. The flavor of all the food is so delicious as well. Coat check cost money, and we didn't know that ahead of time. It's pricy but we'll be worth the money. Service is quick, and everyone is very attentive and kind. Great for group settings. I highly recommend it!
