Andy's Quality Fish

Great chat,Greek origins,we spoke about soccer together with the man and his son.The fish bar owner seemed very popular in the locality.He certainly accommodated me nicely and respectfully. It was possibly a wee bit spartan inside and slightly short on offerings,but the basics were there,saveloy ,sausages,pies. I had saveloys n chips.He brought me a glass water and let me sit inside.It was getting colder closer to Halloween. I enjoyed their company and my chips.Will drop in again if on the area. Great value and huge portions - my meal for two would have served two adults and two kids easily. Lovely fish and crisp batter. Some posts complain about the atmosphere but it’s old school and that’s what I like about it. Somewhat dated and probably needs a make over but hopefully it won’t put customers off because the food is of a good quality.

We ordered fish and chips takeaway on a Saturday evening. It was very quiet. The person behind the counter was very friendly and explained that he was frying the fish freshly so would take 10mins and it did. The fish was enough for 2people at least (50p in the picture was to show perspective). The batter was light and not too greasy the chips had that perfect fish shop taste. You could tell they take great pride in their food and carefully wrapped each item. A great part of the community
