Florida's Kitchen

Stopped in to grab a bite with the cycle group and it was great!!! The only thing that wasn't good was the drinks. I don't know if it was the ice or machine, but I tried soda, sweet tea and lemonade and they were all horrible. Enough of that... the burnt ends, ribs, sausage, potato salad and baked beans were all good. I've never had burnt ends that were this and taste this good. Hats off to Mrs. Florida who graced us with her presence today. We had to personally thank her and the staff for good service and great food!!!! Now if they would serve drinks in bottles and cans, they'll definitely get 5 stars.

We had the Floridas special platter (something like that). It was definitely a generous portion. Enough for my husband and I to eat there and take home… our server was friendly and tended to our needs. He made sure our drinks stayed full. I also enjoyed the gospel music playing in the restaurant, it made us comfortable as that type Of music is up our alley!! Now, the reason why I gave this place a 3 star is because the Food was ok. I like my food really hot and it was not. I loved the catfish though. It was cooked hard and the cornmeal was crisp to perfection. There isn’t too many places or people that can cook it like that…. I also enjoyed the yam patty’s. They were my favorite.

Found this hole-in-the-wall place on a trip back home. It had great reviews so we decided to check it out. And I love not eating at chains! The inside was old as expected but the food was good! The bbq sauce is so yummy, as were the fries and fish. The shrimp were… interesting. The choice of breading was very weird. It was soft, thick, and almost like a pastry shell. Wouldn’t order the shrimp again but everything else was great! Would definitely visit again!

Wow! I ordered the Florida sampler plate and I literally had to take half home. The picture doesn’t tell just how big that plate of food really is. That might be the best catfish I’ve ever had. Their seasoning is top notch. Their tartar and dipping sauces are excellent, again due to their seasoning. The ribs were perfectly finished; tender, juicy with great texture. Do yourself a favor and give this place a try. Sit back and relax. This isn’t fast food. Once you taste it you’ll know why! The servers were understaffed but they were rushing around doing their best to take care of everyone. Great job!

Second trip here. Seriously the service is non existent. The two waitresses kept walking past us without making eye contact.. we waited for every part of our meal. Silverware, refills, to place our order, to get our to go plates. It was like being in a traffic jam... Massively under staffed... May as well be closed they would do less damage to their reputation. I will not go back. It's ashame too because the food is good.

In town visiting family and had a great lunch today at Florida's. First time eating here, and we will definitely be back! Service was fast and friendly. The food was delicious, the servings were large, and the prices were good. My husband and I shared the Florida sampler and it was delicious. We even had leftover catfish to take home. My mother is law had the Florida salad, and it was amazing! Definitely recommend this place!
