This is a wonderful book store! There are so many books and crannies to explore. There are a selection of used books and also new books, comic books, kids books, etc. Such a neat place to explore. Coffee bar with awesome desserts on display. I wanted to try one of everything. I got their regular coffee and it was very good. No need for cream. There are public restrooms and they were clean. There is not wifi available. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There are tables outside to enjoy your beverage and snacks.

We live in Burnsville and always bring folks who visit us on a drive along the parkway and through Little Switzerland. We like to stop at Books & Beans to peruse and get a coffee and treat. Highly recommend stopping in here if you’re in the area.

The experience is great in this scenic town. The store has all kinds of antiques and books and the owners were hospitable. It’s a nice experience to order coffee and look around the place. Really cozy rest stop if you’re driving on the Blue Ridge Parkway

What a delightful surprise. An unexpected gem in the heart of western NC. There's a lot to see, inspect and absorb: books of all genre, coffee and pastries, art and beautiful local arts. I could easily spend a day here.

Once I stepped in, instantly fell in love with this place. All their books are categorized nicely. I was immediately drawn to their classic and mystery sections, where I found a few books to add to my collection. They also sell tea, coffee, and bakery items. I purchased their double chocolate muffin. Absolutely delicious. I stayed in a little inn just down the road from the place and the blue ridge parkway right there, it's the perfect little place. Will definitely return.

If I had the time, I could spend hours in here! Great selection of classic books! I even found one written in 1892! There are many other things as well. The store is appropriately named, make sure you get a cup of java and by all means, try the double chocolate chip muffins and the double chocolate chip brownies!

I have wanted to get here since I passed by going to Mount Mitchell last spring. My son and I started out with some pastries and coffee and then we began browsing the enormous selection of books. The shop had cozy room after room full of books, crafts, art, and other interesting odds and ends. I could have spent hours searching around the shop for treasures. The restaurant or general store were not open, maybe because of the busy season not starting up yet, but we enjoyed our stop and will try to get back some day. The staff were friendly and helpful and the ride out was beautiful. This is a special place and now a favorite of mine. We were very close to Crabtree Falls, around 12 miles, and made that hike after we left.

One of the best bookstores I've been to in a while! I can't say the selection is super curated - there is some fun stuff but a lot of old books too. But I loved that there are lots of places to sit and read or hang out with your coffee. All that to say that this is a place where you really need to comb through for treasure. Newer books can be found up front and there are gifts and Christmas stuff for sale as well - lots of compasses and globes, hot air balloons and more. Don't miss the art gallery upstairs and make sure to get a coffee and pastry! This is a great find for the area.

To find a bookstore like this in a small mountain town is nothing short of a miracle. A throwback to a long gone era. Coffee and bakery were awesome too. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff.

If you like browsing in bookstores, you will love this charming bookstore in Little Switzerland, NC This is the last place one would expect to find a whole bookstore. Unassuming, small and humble from the outside, you'll be quite surprised what you find inside. Books old and new, even antiquated. Nonfiction and fiction, books for kids, for grownups, for gardeners and nature lovers, for travellers and adventurers. There is a book for everyone and every taste. Maybe you are wondering how all these books fit in this small bookstore. Well, it only seems that way. Behind each corner there is another room full with books, like in the book "House of Many Ways" by Diana Wayne Jones. You will also find wondrous objects old and new- steampunk boxes and various antique explorer gadgets - from telescope and compass to sextant and magnifier glass. And last but not least, when you need a break from exploring this bookstore, you can get delicious coffee and pastries. Have a wonderful adventure in the world of books in this amazing bookstore.
