Reviews of La Charreada

Came in today because I saw lots of good reviews. It was busy when I got here so I waited to be seated for about 5 minutes, nothing terrible. The staff was attentive and kind. I wasn’t very impressed with the fajitas I got. They were the fajitas Popeye, and when I read it in the menu it sounded really good. But unfortunately just wasn’t very flavorful. They were bland if anything. The chips and salsa were ok. I’m from Texas so I have a big range of good Mexican restaurants to compare to, and this food choice just didn’t hit right. I’m not saying everyone else is wrong, maybe I just ordered the wrong item. Give them a shot though maybe you’ll have better luck than I did.

It was our 1st time going to this location we were charged for 3 extra tortillas that were a little hard in spots. Their other locations don't charge for extra tortillas. They were slow about getting us extra napkins. I called for the manager and they never came to the phone. We will never return to this location.

I called in a reservation around 1:30pm, on Sunday, May 1st for my book club for Thursday, May 5th for 6pm, 6-8 people. The young lady ASSURED me the reservation was set. A couple of members arrived before 6 and were LIED to and told there was no reservation!! We were left scrambling to find an alternate site!! The restaurant webpage says it accepts reservations...really????

Best authentic Mexican food north of Texas, and only because I've never been to Texas. House recipe chorizo is outside our human realm of understanding. Can't get enough of it, order it in the queso and thank me later. Unmatched service, owner is more than willing to make accommodations for allergies. Wait staff is extremely friendly compared to what you get at chain locations. Eat local!
