Reviews worried me, but not many options when waiting on a late night flight. This place was fine, we had the spicy poke nachos and Hawaiian sampler platter. Prices weren't really worse than anywhere else on the island. It was fun to try a couple native dishes that we missed! Overall decent food and happy to have somewhere to eat and wait for our flight.
I like to stop in here whenever I leave the island. Items from the bar seem to always take some time but the food is pretty good.
After reading the reviews I dreaded going, but the food turned out to be pretty good. They seem to be turning around, and I think it's great that they include native food on the menu.
The Hawaiian sampler was very tasty and fresh. We also got a cheeseburger, that was so so. But the drink was great, tasty and with a lot of fresh garnishes.
Service was slow, but it was lunchtime and they were really busy. Service was friendly and helpful.
Good experience overall, especially for airport food.
Last minute dinner before the night flight home, good food. A little pricy, was clean and nice staff. Nice to watch the planes come and go too.
Decent food for a pre-flight meal! Service was fast and attentive. Very impressive given it seems like there’re only 2 servers for a fully packed place tonight.
Local beer and garlic fries – what more do you need? (3/5 green stars)
I previously wrote a review of the Ai Ono restaurant at Lihue airport, saying how disappointed that I was that the food was served in Styrofoam containers, even when eating in-house. Besides Starbucks, I think Mea Inu is the only other option in the airport. I had a simple repast composed of a Fire Rock ale (Kona Brewing) and plate of garlic fries. Based on my experience, the service (Jane was very friendly), prices ($6 for the fries, $9 for a large beer), and the fact that I was in an airport (limited selection and elevated prices), I thought it deserves 4 stars.
I’m also giving them 3/5 Green Stars for social and environmental impact, based on these reasons:
• Everything was served on plates, in glasses, with metal utensils. A definite plus over Ai Ono and that dreaded Styrofoam!
• There are two ways of looking at the food and beer: What I had – fried potato and local beer – is fairly sustainable, and I appreciate that they had local Kona beer on tap.
• The Kona brewery does a lot in terms of sustainability (solar energy, water conservation, GHG emissions, use of local ingredients), community involvement, and fundraising.
• However, the overall selection was not at all vegetarian /vegan friendly. There was a quinoa salad and I think that was about it (other than fries). Even the soup and cheese dip (for chips) contained meat.
• There’s no information on their sourcing of veggies, fish, meat, etc. on the menu and the restaurant doesn’t appear to have a website.
Great service and view of the planes. Got there way to early and hung out for a while. Great selection of island drinks. Made waiting for our plane a great time. Will definitely be back when we go to Kauai again. Great chicken Caesar salad
They were fast and friendly! 1 plate of fries $10 8 boneless littke chicken balls $16 2 single shot lava flow drinks $27
While waiting for our plane we got seated right away, our server was nice and helpful. The food was very delicious and the atmosphere made you feel like coming back again.

A welcome relief from the busy terminal. Service was quick and attentive, and the drinks were good.
