I had never heard of this place until I found it on Google. After reading all the reviews, i just had to try it. This place is great. The food was so good, and definitely country style. The customer service was outstanding. Everybody was extremely nice and friendly. I would recommend this place to everyone! Oh, and you can't beat the prices for a full buffet!!
Love the place great people great food!! I would recommend lot of people to go there.. can't beat the price of the food and u get a full belly when u leave..
Max and crew are amazing. Great food for an incredibly low price. I've been eating here for years. You must give it a try. Don't judge a book by its cover. Eat here!
Don't let the outside fool you. Your grandmother is hidden somewhere in the back cooking her greatest hits. You just can't miss this gem. Be sure to try the fried chicken. It's magical.
Do not judge a book by it's cover.. Right off the bat, I'm going to tell you that Loudon Square is not pretty. It's in an old building and the chairs are a mish mash of stuff you would find at a flea market. I've been gong there on and off for 20 years. Same chairs. Same tables.
However, if you don't care about the looks and only about the food, Max's Loudon Square Buffet is a must visit for down home cooking.
If you went to your grandmother's house for Sunday dinner, you have eaten Max's food. The staples are fried chicken, fried catfish, meatballs, ham, mashed potatoes, macaroni salad, cole slaw, and many more favorites.
It's all good and kept fresh.....and all for $8....all you can eat.....did I mention it was $8?
Oh, there's some of the best peach cobbler and banana pudding included too....and chocolate cake....and....yeah, if you like this kind of food, go to Loudon Square.
Best deal in town. $7.50 for buffet w/drink. You just can't beat that. Ok, so the food's good, not great. It's more than a little dingy inside. But it's still good hearty food at a great price. Especially nice for those of us on a tight budget.
Welcome to the Mess Hall. In my poorer days, this place was a staple for me and a few friends. Headed up by an old army cook, you simply can't do better for the price. Forget about blue collar - this joint is "no collar" - and they wouldn't have it any other way.
The home cooking you miss.... I have to go back to Loudon Square every few weeks. It's like no other Get your fix on some down home cooking for $7.50. It's always good. Been going there more years than I will ever admit here! LOL
It's brought back memories of my GG's (great grandma) cooking. And there really is a grandma in the kitchen. Quaint and good home cooked food. Friendly staff too.
Surprise!. I've lived in Lexington for 2 years now and always wondered about this place. After reading online for 2 hours trying to find some place open one New Years Day, I decided to give Loudon Square Buffet a try. I'm a vegetarian so I can't speak for the meat options, but the veggies were fabulous! Talk about southern home cooking! You can't beat it.

Come down home!. I had driven by quite a few times wondering if the place was even open but decided to at least stop and try the door. I'm so glad i did. Wonderful home style food for $7.50! The staff and customers reflected the diversity of the local community and made me feel right at home. I was introduced to customers who had been coming in for 38 years! The country style Alaskan pollock was great and I loved the baked beef liver. Besides, where else can you get hit up by the local bums for a dollar in the parking lot! God bless 'em it's just more local color.
It is what it is.... If you were raised in the South eating lots of pinto beans and veggies either cooked for hours till limp, or fried, then you might think this place has what resembles down-home food. It even has melamine plates and bowls like my family had before my mom got Corelle.
I go here when need a fix of down-home grub. I don't mean that in a bad way- it's just not as good as what my family makes- there's meat in the greens, but not in the pinto beans. They offer several meats, but I don't eat much of them because they appear to be slightly overcooked to the point of being dry. They have vinegar coleslaw which is hard to find. It's not the best, but it'll do. Their "mashed" potatoes are from instant (or were the one time I tried them, and that was a one-time thing). Ick.
Overall, if you like down-home country-style food, you might find it satisfying, but it depends on how particular you are, and how hungry you are, but it is cheap and filling.
Foods good. Yea its kinda high school cafeteria, but it's good. Rib sticking. Potato salad is on point. Place is old, needs some tlc. But I guarantee it's cleaner than some people's homes.
Line outta duh door means five stars & last day in biz too

If you know Max then you know that Loudon Square Buffet is a laid back Old fashioned restaurant. When you walk in it's old school, friends sitting down having lunch or dinner. Or you can just call in your order and this was an option way before COVID 19....
So if you want some decent food at a cheap price , stop by....
Food is absolutely amazing!!! I love the fish, chicken, dumpling and more, plus all the sides! Always super friendly! Highly recommend to check it out!
"Our job is to make you happy" a kind elderly man said with a smile as he helmed the register. "That's a tall order" I shot back, meeting his smile. Succeed they did. The place has so much character. They make no bones about what kind of place you're stepping into from the outside, and I appreciated the years of love that look like have gone into this place. An American Express coffee cup looking like it's seen decades of use, but clean when handed to me as if it were his favorite cup. That's the beautiful kind of dichotomy I love in places like this. Everything is appreciated, there is no facade here. The staff is friendly, the food feels like it was made with love by your aunt, and the price at $8 flat for an adult is fair even if you just eat a single plate. If you're adventuring like me, this a nice place to recharge and feel at home.
I absolutely love this place, tons of memories and great people. Mostly for local people only after seeing snobby reviews. This place isn't for the rich and stuck up people,it's for people who are humble and caring. The food is great, the owner is wonderful and all the people who work there are so nice. I'm sad to see it shut down.
I have been going here for long time now
The bottom line is you can't beat the price for all you can get, dining in or take out
For country cooking, it is like Ramsey but cheaper ,and get more . I like the fish they have ,and vegetables.this place deserves 6 stars because it helps the working people out and the poor people.
Max will take good care of you
Will not let you go hungry, and his prices can't be beat in town for what you get. Try loudon square today and see for yourself . You will get your money worth for sure
I really love this place over Ramsey, you get more for sure
Best place in town, that I know of
To get vegetables, chicken, fish, and dessert for a damm good price. This place is worth 10 stars
My favorite place to eat!!!!
Been going for over 40 years!
Loudon square is still the best choice for quality and value for lunch and dinner
You can't beat the price, in
These days of inflation.
