Ramsey's Diner Tates Creek

Top notch comfort food! Everything is home cooked & awesome! The Cajun cat fish is my fave and I'm very picky when it comes to fish. LOVE Ramsys!

A Favorite!. We have visited Ramsey's countless times, and for good reason. Delicious home cooked favorites, reasonable prices, and a bit of a quirky place. We enjoy the huge selection of sides, drink specials, and entrees large enough to share. And, you can't go wrong with the fried banana peppers as appetizer. Sometimes, things can be a bit hectic, lots of activity and clients, service is almost always very good. It's a classic Lexington go-to place, always enjoy.

I always enjoy myself when I come to Ramsey's. Tates Creek is my preferred location, I think their food is prepared better. A friend of mine and I meet frequently for lunch to order our favorite salads and request our favorite server Heather. The staff are polite and the manager always checks for customer satisfaction. We love being able to walk through the door and our server already know what we want to order. We will be back for many more wonderful experiences.

Entire family enjoyed the food. Not for those minding calories, but for those looking for good country food it is an excellent choice. My daughter recommends that you save room for the combo pie.

Wonderful!. We had just arrived into town and wanted to eat in a local restaurant. This place made us feel welcome, had great service and great food. Good portion sizes. Make sure to get slices of pie. We took ours back to our hotel room and had them later. The entire experience was great!

Tequila shot and Pot Roast, Thanks.. This is as close to home food as I have found in Central KY. I come from S.E. KY and food a focal point of all things - gatherings to Love. First let me say that the staff has always been very friendly and helpful. Last night I stopped in after I was able to get away from work. It was 10:30P and they close at 11P. Most places are closing down the kitchen at this time and will treat you very rudely at this time. I had a bed craving for anything from this place. I stopped in and was treated fantastically by the hostess/waitress and bartender (I just grabbed a seat at the bar). She kept going about doing a few shutdown things but treated me like I was the only customer there. Another guy came in after me and was treated the same way. I felt welcome and not as if I was a bother. Some female bartender deserves a PR raise. I love everything that I have ever gotten here. I am not a vegetarian but one of my favorite things here is the vegetable plate. The fried green tomatoes and creamed corn are my favorite items. The tomatoes are fixed just like home with a slightly sweet (not to much) cornmeal batter that just coats the perfectly cut tomato slices. To much batter or flour batter is disgusting and some horrible thing from the depths of a wierd chinese hell. The creamed corn taste like it was just cut off the cob and fried with a little sugar, salt, pepper, and a rightous amount of butter. As for meats, just tried the Pot Roast last night and it was great! The beef is cooked to a perfect level of tenderness with carrots. The flavors fill up your mouth and more flavor burst forth with every chew. Ahhhhh, never mind. The catfish is consistently good and never has that "fishy" taste or smell so you don't feel like your on a date that you need to get away from. The burgers are always cooked perfectly to order (medium for me). The cornbread sticks are true cornbread that dosen't have sugar or at least not enough to taste. If I want cornmeal cake I'll first prep myself first by using a feral cat to rupture my spleen. Sugar in cornmeal is some disgusting Northern practice. The servings are large and we almost always have leftovers. Unfortunately, we haven't had room for dessert yet. Big plus, they have a small full service bar which means that you can have a nice mixed drink or shot to start your meal. They have nightly drink specials, great food, inviting atmosphere, and better staff. Whats not to like?
