Blue Sea Cafe

I’ve never reviewed a restaurant but this place was so bad I want to save others the experience. I ordered the Thai salad and it was so bad I couldn’t eat it. It had an off-smell like fish. I’m really not a picky eater, but I couldn’t stomach this even though I was so hungry after 4 mile bike ride and no breakfast. The space also has a terrible smell to it, like bad smelling cleaner masking stinky air. Gross.

We had great food when we went last year, so returned yesterday. The server dumped an entire glass of iced tea all over my mother, staining her white pants, shirt and shoes. We waited over 40 minutes for SANDWICHES! Two of the three were supposed to be hot, but were ice cold. They didn’t even offer my mom a free tea after ruining her outfit. What a disappointment. I would not recommend based on the owner’s lack of interest or care with regards to the tea spill, in addition to the excessive wait for sandwiches.

If I could rate this a place 0 star I would. Walked in confused as all get out. No one was there to seat us. So we walked up to the one and only waitress and asked her if we should seat ourselfs. She snappily replied I’ll be with you in a moment. So we stood out in the middle of the cafe waiting to be seated for 10 minutes. We finally got seated and then she walked away without asking if any of use wanted a drink. Sat there for 5 more minutes until she finally asked us what we wanted. We all got water and she walks over to the sink and gets tap water and puts it in our cups. I mean like come on. I work at a restaurant so I know how a flow of a restaurant should run and it was not running good. Just finished the food which was mediocre at best. A guy kept coming into the room and grabbing dirty dishes and dropping them everywhere, which was nasty. The waitress kept forgetting what people were ordering and kept yelling to them asking which was annoying while I was trying to eat. Last part is that we asked for separate checks and her response was “we don’t do separate check here in Georgia...I mean Delaware.” Iv never been to a restaurant that doesn't do separate checks. Save your time and money and go to honeys. Food is so much better and staff is amazing.

Waitress was walking by for 15 minutes saying she would be right with us. Ordered our food and 10 minutes later she was only then putting the order in. Food was good after we sat for 30 minutes waiting for it to get to us. They only had one waitress and she was very poor at doing her job. Not worth going there.

Where can do I start with this insightful google review.... One Sunday at brunch time, me and my beautiful friend were out shopping in the summer heat going thrifting. We had a great idea of a cute brunch place and couldn’t even see with all of the sweat in our eyes. We had to make the decision quickly! Where to nourish our great hunger! Miraculously we read the words “breakfast and lunch” We knew it was a sign from God to go there! We walked across the street and finally made it into the front doors of the cafe. Me and my friend stood in the doorway figuring how to seat ourselves. It seemed very hot in the building which encouraged our pores to sweat even more! There wasn’t a sign or anything. No host. So we awkwardly looked at the one server and she told us to sit down and will be about five whole minutes to be served!!! Really? So we waited and waited for over five minutes and a random chick came up to us and didn’t even introduce herself by saying “drinks?” With a calm anxious voice. We both got waters to save our lives. She came over and gave us these cute little plastic cups and with straws. Drank it like a shot of vodka due to the small size of the glass. She finally came back over and took our order and was more at ease. But after that she never gave us refills as we sweated the day away. I had to make eye contact with both of the servers and they didn’t come over. Even me making it awkward and noticeable we needed more water to quench our thirst. It took them a very very long time to bring me a cold lunch meat sandwich that my grandmother could’ve made faster. It was quite good I’ll give you that but the wait was too long. We never got refills unless I asked. At the ending of our expedition the whole all around experience was awful and we wanted out as fast as possible. My friend across from me was very confused about the whole place and the servers were acting really really weird. Like robots with weird moods and manners. Like either they were hiding something or just was trapped in another dimension. I left a small tip as me and my friend scurried out of the building but realized my friend left her post cards on the table. So I went back in to the hot mess and asked a server if they found it. She looked confused speaking full American fluent English and she kept on repeating my exact words “my friend left her post cards in a paper bag” then she looked at me for five quiet seconds and suddenly reaches out of the trash can the post cards saying “your friend left these post cards” I was so confused so I just grabbed them and ran for my life. So uncomfortable I’m so sorry. I never put bad reviews on any restaurants. But today wasn’t gonna cut it for me. I only say this to make the restaurant perform better. Thanks for the food.
