The Rex

Went Friday around noon for lunch. Not very busy. They have outside seating but chose to sit at bar. Ordered the chicken soft taco Birria with a side salad. Served in about 15 minutes after order. Plate presentation was nice and dipping sauce was mild heat. Overall nice lunch. Tea was served in a Mason jar. Overall good food and small town atmosphere. Short walk/drive to leanordtown wharf if you want to relax near the Potomac as your food settles.

The wife and I ate here for the first time today. Service was decent, atmosphere is just that typical pub scene, lighting was very dim for 3pm, food was ok for what it was nothing to rave about. The prices on the other hand are outrageous. 16 for just a burger and fries are an additional 3. Almost 20 bucks for a burger and fries. I don't get what all the hype is about. Just another typical overpriced place to eat in ltown square.

We love the Rex. Great food and love being able to look out at Leonardtown Square during festivals and special events. The only thing I don't like about the rex is sometimes it's just so dark and doesnt have enough lighting. I also think that they could clean just a little better. Every once in awhile you smell that moldy smell in the booths. The food is fantastic though and they have some menu items that you can't get everywhere. Great bar and a really cool place to get drinks. The staff is usually great and on point. This last visit was not the best service but they were extremely extremely busy. Will definitely be repeat customers! They also have outside seating and lots of people bring their dogs ive noticed. Try their Mac and Cheese! I also recommend their Burger on the Cuabatta roll pictured here. My husband's favorite is the Patuxent Penne with Shrimp. Also their Breton Bay drink is pictured here.
