The Carolina Burger is the best! I love the chili on it! It’s just perfect! Our waitress was a doll, and Vicki (the owner) is super nice and so, so sweet! 1841 Cafe is a great place to eat and hang out downtown!
Today I had the chicken salad plate and it was outstanding! I tried my best but couldn't eat it all. Honestly, it was enough to feed 2 or 3 people. I love the hometown feeling at 1841, especially when Vickie refers to me as "Hot Dot." Lenoir is fortunate to have this place.
Loved this restaurant experience. The building and decor is very interesting. The owner came by our table and was very friendly. The bar options were great and included local brews. The wait staff was very attentive. The food was delicious. The wait for seating and our food when ordered was minimum. This was my second visit and I will be back next time I'm in town
I have hosted numerous events here, and on all occasions 1841 has gone above and beyond for me.
The staff is wonderful, food is phenomenal, every experience has been top notch!
The owner and staff have always accommodated my decor requests, layout of the party room, and menu.
Taco Bar, Margarita Bar, Mini Sliders, anything I want they have done.
I will never book an event anywhere else.

We came on a Saturday afternoon around 1 pm. The place was about half way full but the staff was closing down for a large party of 60 coming in shortly after us. They were extremely honest and straight forward about being busy which was much appreciated.
Once our food arrived, the owner came out to tell us that a lot of the cooks were out with the flu and that they were swamped with large parties that afternoon. She sat with us to make sure the food was cooked to our liking and was willing to remake anything if we wanted (which we did not, the food was incredible). Everyone was extremely polite and kind and the food was amazing! Although they were busy, our food came out in a short time and the server checked on us often. We were just passing through but if we are ever in town again we will definitely be returning!

Quality food, a great place to eat where everyone knows your name! There are a good variety of menu items from vegetarian to BBQ! There's usually entertainment. And if you're invited to a party or event here, prepare to be spoiled. Lots of good choices. Food is always served fresh and fast. Step back in time at 1841 Cafe - the atmosphere will take you back to yesteryear. It's just a wonderful place to be!
Update to review: just are there last night and it was delicious as always. Friendly service and lots of new items to choose from. The salads, soups and sandwiches are especially good. Enjoy! (March 15, 2023)
Food was delicious!! Had their special Blackberry Parfait to celebrate the Blackberry Festival!! So so yummy!!!! Service was impeccable and the food was awesome!!!
What a great place and so damn friendly! I was eating dinner last night and just drinks tonight, the menu is suffering due to the economy but still delivered. The beer was cold and must say while I work I feel like I can stop here every day without issue. Having never been to Lenior before this was a good find. I recommend.
My husband and I came for dinner here to celebrate our anniversary. We are from out of state so we didn’t know what to expect. For a nice casual dinner this place is perfect. The food was beyond delicious. The service was quick and friendly. The 1841 Cafe is our reason for returning to Lenoir.!
Myself and a friend went here for a visit from Gastonia, NC on Wednesday. We were very impressed with the place. The food, the waiter and the service was all great! The owner and her moma was very friendly and so was the staff. Will definitely go back!
This is one of the best places to eat in Lenoir! The service makes you feel like you are eating at home with a funny and loving family! The food is great too !!!
Came to town for a funeral and ended up eating here twice in 2 nights. They were so accommodating to us, especially the first night when we called ahead to make sure they could serve more than 20 of us right before they closed. The food was delicious and the owners/staff went above and beyond to make us feel great. I cannot say enough about the great service! Thanks 1841 cafe!
