Great food and a great atmosphere... The view over the lake was awesome...
An excellent stop for an afternoon break from the road!. Drinks and apps on the porch over-looking the marina. Good service and nice atmosphere, with good friends.
Ditto the above for our 6/12/15 visit.
Buffet was awesome! Tender Briskett and all of my favorite sides! Friendly service As well!
One of the best slabs of Ribs I've ever had. Great smoked flavor. Beans are great also.
Excellent food- good service. Wait staff was friendly and very attentive. My Teriyaki chicken was done to perfection, a nice sized juicy piece of very tender chicken with a great flavored sauce. Two others I dined with had the seafood combo with salmon and shrimp and were surprised at the generous portions. A++++ Calhouns, Well Done!
It's okay. Calhoun's is better in the summer, when you can watch the boats on the water. The food is decent. They'll say they have Knoxville's best steak and ribs, and those menu items are certainly passable. We always get the Ale or BBQ steaks, and the one thing Calhoun's consistently does is cook our steak correctly. Few houses in Knoxville know what medium well should look like.
The grilled shrimp skewers are above average, and their house salads are good. Chicken dishes are mediocre. They start with a basic grilled chicken breast and prepare it to order so, for example, the Teriyaki chicken hasn't been marinated. It's just covered in Teriyaki sauce.
A little pricey for Knoxville, but a decent mid-range sit-down place.
Frequent Diner..... While I've tried several of the Copper Cellar restaurants, this one is the closest to me (drive time biased) and I really enjoy eating on the water. A+ for waterfront dining atmosphere. I usually get the Filet Mignon there and I have never been disappointed.
Kid Friendly! The staff can provide "day old bread" to feed the huge fish and ducks from the restaurant balcony. C'mon mom and dad...let the little ones have some fun!
Tiki Bar. After dinner, you can continue an outdoor drink with live music on the newly rennovated outdoor dock. My only complaint is their outdoor bar menu is limited.
Cons: I'm a regular at Calhouns enough to know the menu/food really doesn't change. My wife and I are regulars but don't get excited about the food. It's become a predictable, local favorite. I no longer visit their Smokey Mountain Brewery (Turkey Creek) because of this.
I had fried catfish, a screw of grilled shrimp and a loaded potato. It was by far the best meal I had in our 2 week vacation. The shrimp were incredible. The view of the lake with boaters was a nice touch to our evening. Highly recommend.
Food was just right and well heated (definitely hadn't been under a heat lamp or dried out). The dessert menu is the most exciting thing ever 😂 Amazing view and good atmosphere. I hope to be back soon!
Great location and great consistency of food. You can sit on the balcony at the main restaurant and look at the water. If the restaurant is full you can head to the tiki bar and get mostly the same food and sit outside.
The pork nachos are amazing as an appetizer, but really big enough for a meal.
The chicken wings and tenders are also top notch.
Added bonus this year at the tiki bar is gas tiki torches, totally changed the mood, in a good way.
Honestly all the Copper Cellar restaurants are awesome, this one is just better because of the setting.
