Good Eats. If you've never had Carnitas before boy are you in for a treat!!! Carnitas Uruapan has been in the east county since the mid 1980's, having re-located once in the past 10 years has actually done well for the business.
They also serve Carne Asada and other delightful Mexican Dishes. Family owned this place will have your taste buds begging for mercy. Home made tortillas and fresh Frijoles (beans) Once you've tried Carnitas you'll never forget where you ate the best from and that's in Lemon Grove, Carnitas Uruapan gets 5 stars from me.
Tonight I got dinner for the family (4) and was amazed the heavy sack of food was only $39. Carnitas fries and nachos were so good and the wet burrito was filled with delicious carnitas. My son loved his rolled tacos but says next time he is ordering the carnitas fries. We have so many leftovers, we could have just ordered the fries and nachos.
I love this place but don’t go there enough because it is 1.5 miles away and I have two taco shops between here and there. We will definitely make the trip more often.
I am from Mexico, and I know what real carnitas should taste like, well this place is as good as the ones from Mexicali in San Diego! Juicy porky goodness, crunchy tasty chicharrones and very good guacamole, rice, and beans. If you don’t like a heavy meal, get the carnitas tacos plate. Two very well served tacos with the works. If you like a good size meal get the Maggi burrito, carnitas and chicharrón, pico salsa and guacamole. And for dessert, order flan.
The BEST carnitas and buche in San Diego. Best deal to feed a family. And at lunch or solo dinner you can’t go wrong with a couple tacos or a burrito (half will be enough).
Local spot in San Diego, as it can be hard to find a reliable taco shop with so many options, this restaurant is a go-to and never disappoints. Highly recommend the chilaquil burrito, as not too many places in SD make them well, and its really good with salsa.
Best Shrimp Uruapan burrito, love their carnitas, they are also really good. What disappointed me recently was a raise in prices, although that could just be through delivery services. One of the things that made this place so good was lower prices. Love to support small businesses. This is my favorite place for carnitas.
A good value. Ordered Carne asada fries. Only complaint is the carne wasn't browned, it seemed more like french dip beef. There are places that use better cuts of beef but it was still good.
