Driving & hungry, I exited onto ramp into Leland to grab a bite… & found Shirley’s Diner hidden behind the PizzaHut.
GREAT FIND! You can tell this clean unassuming diner, truly LOVES their patrons evidenced in their quality, quantity & pre-COVID pricing!!! (THANK U!)
Seems so many restaurants hv dropped quality & quantity to all time low, while hiking up prices, not Shirley’s. You will leave so pleased & comforted w/their comfort food, that Shirley’s should be called ‘Your Mama’s Kitchen’. Sweet folks get your warm ‘greeting’ then your comfy ‘eating’ like a country ‘king’. I hv to make up excuses to drive to Leland now, regularly;)

First trip after trying a few weeks and missing it. We got fried steak and pork chops...all was really good and the sides were great also. Menubis small but wih hreat items. Service was spot on and everyone helpful. If you enjoy home type cooking its a stop worth stopping.
Enjoy eating fish here. Great fried pork chops and Salisbury steak too. Worth a visit to this iconic Leland family established.
Got that hometown community feeling waitresses are very friendly and welcoming. Our waitress Crystal was soooo friendly and helpful. Home cooking meals right here but not on Sunday, cause you’ll find them in church. Great little dinner with fast service and friendly people..
A Wilmington must do! Great food and great staff. Good size portions at a reasonable price. I stop here every time I am in town!
I had terrific fried shrimp and French fries. My friend enjoyed a pork chop and mashed potatoes. Very reasonably priced food that a working family can afford.
Don't get much better than this great food awesome service and the price of the meal was outstanding. If your in the area stop and give them a try.
I was so excited when I came to place my order that one of the people that works at Shirley's dinner recognized me. Hinten went to school with my daughter. I had no idea he was there helping his parents with the restaurant. He is such a nice guy. I took a picture with him to send to daughter. The staff is so amazing.
Absolutely love the service, fabulous food, great atmosphere, fresh food. Would recommended for great food and service.
