The Hitching Post

We had a baby shower for my daughter in law on 4/2/2022. Everything from the planning to the event was wonderful. Tracy and Cory were so easy and pleasant to work with. The food was absolutely delicious, and it is such a family atmosphere. I love supporting businesses with such high standards for their product and service. We met George who is the owner, and I believe he has a very happy staff, always nice to see great management as it shows in their staff.

My wife and I have tried this place multiple times while in the area and gave up. It looks nice and the aesthetics talk a big game, but I do not think it follows through. We travel to reading to visit her family and while we are here, we have had dinner here, also returned here after having dinner somewhere else for drinks and appetizers. For one, I would not bother ordering drinks. I know at times bartenders have bad days, but these drinks were very subpar for this atmosphere. My wife was a bartender in her day and said nothing tastes fresh. Food was decent, but at this price, you can find much better elsewhere. Again, my wife's family said it has a great reputation which was why we tried several times, but we will not return. Glad we live in Lancaster and do not have to decide where to go in berks county. If this is the best it has to offer, I would be very disappointed.

This was a pleasent surprise find while traveling. The food was excelent and the plating was five star. The menu was varied enough that all should find a satisfactory choice even though it was a one sided menu. It also offers bar and outdoor seating. The restaurant was laid out nice and is very clean. I would definitely stop in again if passing through.
