China King

Went in expecting the small Chinese joint I frequented in high school. Came to find that they bought the closed Hallmark next door and expanded into a sit-down restaurant and buffet! I ordered General Tso's chicken, orange chicken, house-special fried rice, and shrimp & broccoli. Food was good for small-town Chinese. Fresh, hot, good ingredients. Having eaten at ALL the local Chinese places (Leechburg, Apollo, Vandergrift, New Ken, etc), this is by far the best and will continue to receive my business.

Checked out the reviews before ordering and saw that most of them were good. I'm not really inclined the believe a bad review that cant spell the word "terrible." Lo. So we went ahead an ordered. Honestly the cheapest chinese food in the area. The same order from China Lobster would cost 7 dollars more. So finding someplace close that is cheap is exciting. Food was pretty darn good. I'm so picky about the texture of rice, but theirs was perfect. Not too wer, but it wasn't dry like a lot of other places give you. Chicken was pretty good. I'd speculate that it's dark meat, but I don't have a problem with that at all. It wasn't greasy or overcooked. Portion size is pretty big. 4.95 for a big pint with rice is definitely reasonable. And they stuffed the container full to the point that the flaps didn't close the whole way and it was held shut by the wire handle. You definitely get your moneys worth. So if you're in the area and craving Chinese, this is the best you'll get. Do NOT waste your time hopping across the bridge to get Asia Cuisine. (If you do that, you, your wallet, AND your toilet will learn the hard way.)
