I took my parents and aunt to Cabbage Key on 12/11/2020. The food, service, and scenery were fantastic.

Great little out of the way place food is good but the servings may have an irregular sizes. You will pay more her but it is very good. Our server AMY did a nice job and so did the host who was NY. Very interesting place.

A day of boating with friends included lunch here, something we’ve been wanting to do since we moved tomFL 5 years ago! From the docking of the boat to the end of our meal we had a great time! The cheeseburger is definitely one of the best I’ve had and the fish dip was even better! Great way to spend the day!

Nice place. So wonderful to capture the idea that humans have enjoyed this location since 100BC! How many moons and tranquil days? Stone crab special was very well presented and quite ample! Bring your wallet for the drinks!!
STEM Tip: As we all know, sand comes from shells and the calcium and carbon creates great structure. The mounds left behind by ancient humans on which Cabbage Key is built is pretty neat.

Food is really good, the dock staff were awesome. Could only spend about an hour there today but will definitely return highly recommended.

Took the inter-coastal down from Little Gasparilla. Easy trip, well marked with navigation aides. Be aware that in season, there may be a 30-60 minute wait for a slip and the same for a table especially around lunch time. Food is good, staff friendly. Loved the beans a rice.
Will return.

Thank goodness for Facebook or we would have never known about this gem of all hidden gems! We stayed two nights in room 5, which included a private screened in patio. From the patio, we observed red-bellied woodpeckers, osprey, cardinals, ducks, lightning bugs and many gopher tortoises. No TVs helped keep us disconnected from reality, and that was much needed, especially in these times!!
The restaurant was better than we were expecting for a place cutoff from road travel. While the cheeseburger in paradise for lunch is good, it is much better at night when it's slower because the cooks aren't cranking out 900 of them. With that being said, don't sleep on the creative dinners the chef conjures up with the daily catches. We had two really outstanding pan-seared groupers dishes, one of which was served with a black bean puree and pico de gallo.
The restaurant service was also exceptional. Debi was our waitress both nights, and she's quite the riot.
Most notable, however, was Frank. This guy made us feel like were had been there a million times and happily chatted it up with us as business allowed.
If you're wanting to check this place out, here are some tips. If you plan to walk the trails like we did, bring a good bug spray with deet. A helicopter sprays the island almost daily, but it's highly outmatched by the tenacity of those mosquitoes. Also, bring some snacks. There will be times that you might not want a full meal, which is about all the kitchen really offers. Lastly, climb the water tower. It offers both a great sunrise and sunset!
Only complaint, the hide away door in the room needs to be fixed. Not a big deal for us, but it could be for more finicky guests.
