This is a wonderful hole in the wall. If you are looking for a quiet friendly bar with surprisingly good food and cheap craft beer, this is your place. I first went here on a Tuesday for the Taco Tuesday. We ordered the deep fried tacos, chicken and beef. The flavor was wonderful and the price was super cheap. I particularly loved the taco sauce which is a mole type of sauce. The drinks were also quite cheap. So this is a wonderful cheap taco place on tuesdays. I returned a couple of weeks later to watch a KU basketball game. I ordered the loaded tots and had an IPA beer. My total bill was under 10 bucks and the tots were fabulous! I debated about whether to post this because I like the place the way it is and don't want too many people discovering this hidden gem. Also, the owner, Ryan walks around and makes sure everything is good for the customer.

I like this place. One of my favorite bars in Lawrence. Good drinks, reasonable prices. Bartenders are always cool. Quite a few screens so it's a pretty good place to watch a game. They also have trivia nights, which are fun. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is that they have a pretty limited menu and they don't serve every day per week. I will say that their food is good. Just wish they had more variety. Crimson & Brews is a non fancy, no frills place but it is also very warm and welcoming. Not pretentious. Not too collegey. A friendly unassuming "hole in the wall" which is comfortable and familiar.
