Shoney's

I don't eat here often, but when I do, I usually prefer the buffet over ordering from the menu. The majority of the time the store is clean. Good service if you get a waitress who's been there a while. (Sometimes you'll get a new waitress/new employee, & we all know what it's like to start a new job/learn everything, etc.) So I don't complain about the new staff/new hires because they have to learn. (Try to put yourself in their shoes)

I was in Laurel bringing a friend to a doctor's appointment, and she wanted to try Shoney's. We arrived about 11:45 am. The server Tracey B. seated us in a dirty booth, asked her to clean the table. The buffet was horrible the guy brought out four pieces of chicken. The greens and the beans have an after taste she explained to me that she was transitioning from breakfast to lunch a couple pieces of fish was on buffet my father said they were like rubber. At 12:13 PM I walked to ask to speak to the manager. I spoke with Ms. Shunda Jordan. Ms.Jordan let me know that changing over to lunch take awhile the food has to cook. I asked for my check and she told me she was going to Discount my check. I paid $34.68 for a spoon of mashed potatoes collard greens beans and two chicken legs. She never once looked in my face she gave me $2 off the ticket. Thumbs down for Shoney's

Terrible experience. At least 4 things on the buffet was completely out ( only 3 ppl in the restaurant besides us two), the rest looked like it had been there a week. Ordered liver off the menu and that took a good 20 minutes, our empty tea glass sat on the table for 10 of those 20 minutes with our waitress standing at the front door laughing and doing the kiki dance with another employee. I say every time that I don't be back, but about every 6 months I forget how bad the place is and try it again. So we'll see ya again around Feb. Or March I'm sure (if it's still open).
