La Strega

Not to bad of a restaurant for the first time. Restaurant is small, clean, and has a good environment to hang out. One thing is that drinks seem like they are priced as if you're on the strip. Food comes out in a good time. Good portions. But the one thing that dropped a star was that I brought in a little cake and got charged a $20 cutting fee, for me to cut the cake, and I even ordered dessert off their menu, but they they didn't care and they add the tip already to the bill. So if the service is great, they get a tip, and if the service is bad, they get tip.

What a swanky Italian restaurant! First time ever there, ate solo at the bar, was treated like a long time local. Cocktail was divine. Food was incredible. Service was on point, not hovering but also always there when needed. The two women bartenders were friendly and had great recs. And away from the crazy strip madness. My new favorite spot when I visit, hands down.

Saturday night, 6pm reservations. This is definitely a place you want to make reservations for. They had to turn people away at the door after we arrived. As soon as you enter you notice the charm of this brightly decorated, lively restaurant. To the right is the main dining room with a full bar. That area gets quite noisy. To the left is the family friendly side with lots of windows and much quieter. We liked this side much better. The kind host brought us to our table and welcomed us as first timers and introduced our waiter for the evening. Our waiter was very knowledgeable, answered all of our questions and took good care of us. The food was all fresh and delicious. The Chardonnay was crisp and light, a perfect accompaniment to our dishes. We left full not stuffed and very happy with our dining experience here and we look forward to returning soon. This is a great datenight spot, family dinner or special occasion. Most people were dressed nicely and this place deserves that.

Mia's incredible attention to detail, genuine hospitality, and infectious enthusiasm elevated our dining experience to new heights. Her knowledge of the menu was impressive, and her recommendations hit the mark each time. From guiding us through the wine list to suggesting perfect entree pairings, Mia navigated us seamlessly through our culinary journey at La Strega. However, the excellence didn't stop there. The manager, Melody, was equally impressive with her gracious and accommodating demeanor. Managing a large group can sometimes be challenging, but Melody handled our party with a deft touch, ensuring that every detail was taken care of to our satisfaction. Her approachable and warm personality added an extra touch of finesse to our evening. Now let's talk about the food. Every dish we sampled was an intricate ballet of flavors and textures, beautifully presented and simply delicious. Each course showcased La Strega's commitment to high-quality, fresh ingredients prepared with creativity and finesse. The crowning jewel of the night, however, was the surprise dessert sampler presented to us. A medley of exquisite treats, each one a unique delight, was the perfect endnote to our memorable meal. Adorable place. Loved the decor and the vibe. Kitchen is open so you can see what's going on and I absolutely loved that. Staff was very friendly and very helpful. They were on top of everything. We had 2 cocktails each. *Hugo *bees knees * Marie Laveau *rose They were really refreshing very well balanced, and very good. For food we got the following: *Peruvian scallops- very tasty *Norma's Garden- I love arugula ( very refreshing salad) *Salmon crudo- delicious *Tuna bruschetta- very tasty. Abit too much oil for me, but again it was very tasty. *Stracci- completely loved this dish. Full of flavor and very good.

I would definitely go back to La Strega, I was stuck between a 4 and a 5 on this review. It is worthy of mention that the service was great!! I originally scheduled my reservation for the wrong week, but we were still able to be seated with a table of four quickly. I personally really enjoyed the Spanish branzino that I ordered, and my friends enjoyed their rigatoni Bolognese and short rib. My husband's dish, however (the squid ink bucatini) we would not recommend. He and I agreed that the pasta was rather salty and the overall dish seemed a bit monotoned. Finally, the drinks were just a bit disappointing. I would recommend sticking to the wine list here, since the two cocktails we ordered amongst the four of us were not as good as the wines. In short: I would return, change an order, and switch the wine menu :)
