Review Izakaya Go - Las Vegas

David Adams
We visited on Christmas Day, and despite having reservations we still had to wait in line to get in when they opened. We received our drink order fairly quickly, however despite ordering our food within 5 minutes of our arrival the first plate didn't come until 40 minutes later. Meanwhile, people who arrived at the same time had already eaten 2-3 plates of food. That said, the food was all quite delicious. We'll definitely return next time we're in town, as long as it's not on a major holiday.

Reasonably priced Japanese appetizers, portions are small so you can try a variety of dishes. The happy hour 10pm to close is a great deal, if you like to eat late. The menu is huge so I need to come back to try different dishes.

this place has over a thousand reviews and I still think it might be underrated lol. very deep menu and extremely reasonable prices, especially during happy hour. top recommendations: any yakitori and 1.50 oysters, most of the happy hour menu tbh. not a lot of room inside though so expect to wait during peak hours especially if coming with a large party.

We travelled to Vegas for one thing, amazing food. After indulging in a $500 tasting menu, we were sure we had reached the peak of our experience. Then we ate here. Short of travelling to Japan (which I have), I don’t think you can get any more of an authentic experience than Izakaya Go. The food was mind-blowingly good, the atmosphere was on point, and did I mention how good the food was?! My only regret was eating 3 hours prior, limiting what I could possibly eat here. Thank you to the whole staff (especially the owner) for making our trip a memorable one. Can’t wait to come back.

Seriously this place has the vibes of a real izakaya. The food options are great, and everything I had was fantastic. Definitely recommend it if you're looking for good food and drinks.

Prices are very reasonable but some of the items I ordered were a bit of a miss. Service is fantastic and quick. The udon was awesome and tasty, my favorite skewers were the chicken heart and the chicken meatball. However I really didn’t enjoy the bacon asparagus (the bacon wasn’t crispy and was very stringy) nor did I like the flavor of the seared tuna belly. The chicken skin was crispy but also chewy which is a weird dichotomy.

The food here is good and the prices are reasonable. The service was quick and the staff is friendly. The Fried Pork Belly was good, as was the Beef Tataki. The Salmon Carpaccio was even better. The skewers were underwhelming, but they are pretty cheap, so that makes sense. They are pretty small portions, so maybe good for kids or people who just want to nibble. The Chicken and Pork cutlets were pretty good as well. Priced at under $10 each, it's almost half of what you would pay for a full cutlet dinner, and all that is missing is basically the large portion of cabbage. With all this being said, there isn't anything special here that differentiates it from any other Japanese Tapas place in Las Vegas. I don't think anyone would be disappointed eating here, but they also won't be raving to their friends about it either.

This restaurant is an excellent place for sushi and meat lovers. We tried the chutoro, spicy yellow tail, and blue fin kamakazi rolls and they were all amazing. The lamb chops were perfectly cooked as well. I highly recommend this restaurant which is located in Chinatown, just a few minutes away from the main Vegas strip.

Great value for the quality and variety. Kids loved the variety of yakitori. The kids loved everything, actually. We enjoyed the dinner.

$1.50 fresh oyster was amazing!! Packed place for reverse/late night happy hour! HH EVERYDAY 10pm-2am Close with $2.50-$13 drinks, and $1.50-$16 food. Take rsvp via phone call if it's at least an hour or more in advance. Fyi, small popular place. We will be back!! Such a great deal! HH Food: $1.50 oyster, $3.50+ handroll, $8 Sashimi, $4.50 salmon tartar, $3.95 seasoned cabbage, fried items, dumplings, noodles, curry, etc. HH Drinks: $4+ hard liquor, $2.50+ sake, $3.50+ beer, $5 wine/$20 bottle, $4.95+ soju cocktail, $10 cocktails. We visited for a quickie snack and night cap on a Thursday night around 10pmish. There were 4 seats left on the bar. Lucky for us, it was just a party of 2. Around 11pmish when we left, there was maybe 1-3 tables available. Next time we visit for a 30min quickie eats, we plan to order: - $1.50 oyster was my favorite!! So fresh!! Perfect meaty size. Not a kushi, but I'm pretty happy and very impressed with it's quality - a $3.95+ handroll for a bit of rice carb added to our snacking (salmon was okay). - probably a cocktail or sake or on the rocks spirit. $12 Whiskey Sour Japanese style was okay, and maybe just not for me with orange juice stuff. I may try another drink or just order a non-hh drink. If I'm with others who want to drink wine, then a $25 bottle of wine is really affordable. - try the seasoned cabbage for $3.95. If we're more hungry, then I am interested in adding these sharable HH: - Otoro of 5 pieces for $16 was superb!! It's deliciously satisfying. A must for us if our stomach is up for more substance. - $4.50 Salmon Tartar up try. - $6.95 Go's fish and chips to try. - Non-happy hour $16.95 dinner plate (bento box combo style with rice, soup, salad, pickles and side dishes) to try. We'll probably pass on the yakitori. Either it's an off night for it, or they just aren't too good for yakitori. Still looking forward to coming back. Great place for individuals looking for a night cap too!

All the food we ordered was delicious, but the highlight for me was the hamachi kama. Especially for the price, it was amazing quality and grilled perfectly.

Place is busy for a reason the food and service are fantastic as is the atmosphere. Will be a Vegas staple anytime I am in town.

The food was amazing, it's now my top ramen spot. The tonkatsu was delicious. They also have alot of Asian style tapas offerings at really affordable prices. The atmosphere have you feeling like you are actually in Japan n not Vegas. Located off the strip in a Chinatown area. What drew my attention and let me felt at home was the kool reggae music playing in the background. Definitely give them a try.

Great service and excellent food. The waitress took her time to explain the menus and was very descriptive. Most of the dishes came on small plates. Had the chefs choice Oysters, which was the perfect amount and a bacon wrapped asparagus skewer along with a tuna skewer. Also Had the teriyaki beef which came with 7 other various little plates. Definitely will be back.

Hands down one of the best Japanese meals I’ve had outside of Japan, and all three other members of my group were also super impressed. The interior decor, menu, patrons, and service all reminded me of some of my best meals in Japan. As a frequent visitor to the Bay Area, which also has some great Japanese food, I will say that this place compares to the very best Japanese izakayas in the US (protip: try Izakaya Mew in NYC and Izaka-ya in San Jose!). We ate and drank and ate until we couldn’t eat any more. All of our servers were friendly, knowledgeable, and patient with our questions and comments. This is my new fave spot in Vegas. A short trip off the Strip made our Vegas experience much, much better than it otherwise would have been!

Overall: 4/5 (dine in) We were staying at the Rio and walked over to Izakaya Go which took less than 15 minutes. I like how they're open late & have late night happy hour. The food came out pretty quickly so we were in and out of the restaurant within an hour. Yuzu Chuhai Single ($4.95): This is a mixed soju so you can choose one of their many flavors. I asked which the waiter recommended - yuzu or lychee - and he liked the yuzu one better so I got it. I think this specific chuhai is super light so it just tasted like a slightly carbonated lemon soda. I don't think that even if I got a double (an extra oz of soju), it would be any stronger. Shrimp Shumai 4 Pieces ($5.95 HH): Not that good. The taste is very different from the ones you get at a Chinese restaurant. Half Tonkatsu Ramen ($6.95 HH): This was super salty & didn't taste like tonkatsu. The mild was pretty spicy and that was the main taste for the ramen. Wouldn't recommend. Snow Crab Miso Tempura With Shiso Leaf, 2 Pieces (Catch of the Day): This was the best item of the night. The shiso leaf tempura was crispy and delicious. There was a good amount of snow crab paste too which kinda oozed out like a jelly donut. Chicken Skin Skewer ($2.50): This was okay. I wish it had a bit more flavor and crunchiness. Quail Egg Bacon Skewer ($2.50): I liked this skewer which comes with 3 quail eggs. Flavors were on point. Premium Beef Tongue Skewer ($6.95): Big pieces of beef tongue that weren't t chewy. However, I would have liked some more flavors. Deep Fried Tuna Belly Skewer ($3.95 HH): This was fried perfectly and looked like a smaller hot dog. It comes with a side of shredded cabbage and a dipping sauce. The tuna belly itself was really fishy tasty which I didn't like but the breading is fine. Tuna Belly Skewer ($3.25): This non-deep fried version is also very fishy tasting so I didn't like it. Unagi Skewer ($4.95): This was not bad and pretty average.
