Dona Maria's Tamale Shop

I've always wanted to try this place, and finally, I took my mother out to lunch, and we checked it out. Love the service and atmosphere. Ironically enough, I didn't try the tamales, but my mother did, and she said they were great! Dona Mariaia tamales is worth checking out, you won't be disappointed.

Donna Maria’s is a family owned restaurant and has been one of Las Vegas’ #1 choice for decades featuring my favorite, their signature handmade “tamales”! The menu is host to a variety of wonderful dishes including another one of my favorites, delicious “fajitas”! They’re always serving generous portions no matter what you order. After many years of dining here, I’ve never been disappointed, and neither will you. Also, there’s a large dining room separate from the main dining room that can accommodate a large group/party, so check that out while you’re there. Lots of free parking, some covered spaces and handicap parking directly across from the main entrance. And be sure to top off your visit with a delicious margarita.

We stayed at a hotel near here last year and wanted to check it out, but never for the chance as it was a quick last minute trip to Vegas. We came again this year for a festival, and KNEW we had to stop in and try it out this year. Oh my goodness.. I am SO glad we did! The story of how the restaurant came to life is beautiful, and the food was incredible. Huge proportions! Our waiter Miguel was incredibly friendly, and came to check on us frequently. We will definitely be stopping back in our next time in Vegas!! Please check these guys out!❤️

Very difficult to find a legit authentic Mexican restaurant in Vegas. There’s many sure, but not many that actually hit the spot as far as taste, culture, atmosphere, environment, and homemade. This mom and pop location has a historical story which is already a given that it has succeeded for any years for a reason. I went in around 1:30pm, it was faily busy. The menu is great, although I went for the Carne Asada which came with rice and beans as it traditionally always does. The portions are big which I loved! Big plates, to always make sure you get nice and full is always a must for any legit Mexican restaurant. The seasoning and temp of the Carne Asada was A+. The rice and beans were also nice and hit, literally straight off the kitchen. You have to try their Red Salsa that thing was delicious. Not to spicy and not to mild, in my personal opinion, a salsa is all about taste with a little kick. Not fire burning tongue melting like most other places tend to do. This one here was spot on 👌🏼 i had an orchata to drink, free refills and that was well made as well. This is a nice little hole in the wall location, deep in the middle of busy Arts District, visually recognizable by the all yellow structure. Nice big parking in the back too. No parking on the street or paid parking which his amazing. Definitely a gem in Vegas

Being an avid fan of Mexican food, I had to try this place out. The carnitas were amazing and cooked traditionally in being fried. Although they advertised works famous tamales, I didn't try them. Although the desert tamale selection I found intriguing. The chimichanga I had was amazing though. Staff was good. I was impressed with how authentic the food was. Very much enjoyed lunch here. Would recommend to try.
