Review L'atelier De Joel Robuchon - Las Vegas

Veronica Golan
Phenomenal. Every award and MICHELIN Star is well deserved. The service is as it should. Each plate was presented with elegance, high standard as each plate deserves. Each bite is an explosion of flavors in your mouth. We decided not to proceed with wine pairing but to stay with cocktails. Each drink that came out of that the bar tasted great. The atmosphere is very calm and intimate.

Definitely a dinner to remember. My husband and I came into this dinner not really knowing what to expect but just trusting the reviews and the name. We had an amazing tasting experience. We both got the tasting menu for $125 each with some dishes having some additional costs but absolutely worth it. Loved everything from appetizers to main course and dessert. They do change their menu seasonally I believe but I would trust them on their wonderful blends of flavors and beautiful presentations. We also loved getting to see the kitchen in action and that is what makes this restaurant unique from his other restaurant next door. Great food, amazing service, we shall be back again!

The food is gently and artfully prepared and is excellent. As that usually goes, you don’t get a lot of it, but you can fill a little in with the bread. The wait staff and all the service providers at the restaurant are friendly and welcoming. You can tell many have been doing their work professionally for a long time as they navigate matters with ease. We sat at the bar though the table seating is not far so we all get to see into the process of preparing food and hear a call and response thing they do. It is charming and not disturbing. You feel entertained. Its not the spot for a quiet dinner, but stay home if you want that. Its Vegas baby!

In Vegas, only successful restaurants can make it on the strip. It takes a level of dedication and quality unseen anywhere else to stay alive in the competitive atmosphere of the strip. Joel Rubicon succeeds above and beyond this challenge. As we entered the restaurant, we were guided to our bar table overlooking the kitchen. From there, we could see the chefs taking their craft to the next level, making precision placements on every dish to elevate it to quality above Michelin Star level. Every little thing on every plate served a purpose, and was plated beautifully. Our waiter kindly explained the menu and our different options thoroughly. We expected an amazing meal, but thought it would be less special then Blue Hill, a Michelin star restaurant in NYC. Blue Hill didn’t stand a chance against Joel Rubicon. From the first dish to the last, everything was bursting at the seams with flavor, style, and pizazz. Things that sound absurd to make as a dish transformed into an experience of a lifetime every time I took a bite. This experience is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity, and if you are looking at this review thinking to yourself, “Maybe I should try this place”, go for it. This restaurant has taken up my number 1 restaurant slot, and it would take a miracle for anything to beat this. Joel Rubicon should be proud of this restaurants dedication and determination to serve only the best and most delicious, taste bud tantalizing food of a lifetime. 100/10, definite meal every time I’m in Vegas.

I don’t have enough words to describe how great everything was. Food, atmosphere, drinks, service Manager came multiple times to ensure spectacular experience. Professionalism in this place it’s breathtaking. This was our first time in here, and we already know our next to go place.

Wonderful culinary experience. We did the Discovery menu and had no complaints with any of the courses. I never knew food could taste that good. The elements of each dish tasted amazing on its own but taking a bite with all the elements together took the dishes to the next level. All the flavors worked so well together and there was a ton of umami. None of the ingredients overpowered the dish. So harmonious. I never liked dill but one of the courses had dill and I can't imagine it without. My husband who is far from vegetarian loved the comte cheese souffle course. My favorite (by a hair because everything was so good) was the cod with champagne sauce. Honestly just when you thought things couldn't get better, they did. We were also brought out an extra dessert on the house for my birthday which was also delicious. I hope to revisit sometime in the future if it revisit Vegas. Highly recommend for an experience you won't forget. 10 out of 5 stars!

Chef Jackson is super talented and creative, flavours are on point. As a vegetarian, I truly enjoyed the courses, paired with fantastic list of wines. My partner had the full spectrum of choices and was delighted throughout! Well done chef. Well done to your team. We'll be back.

Oscar was our server, he was incredibly helpful we had the best time but all the servers were well trained. Some of the best food I’ve ever had, so glad I could go.

The wife and I went for our anniversary and were treated with the upmost respect, after not being allowed in for her shoe choice. Not the best first impression, but we're gonna let that one slide (pun intended) because the rest was simply amazing and rules are rules. I ordered the 8 course with quail and she got the 5 course. All I can say is if you get the chance to eat here, you will NOT be disappointed. Absolutely the best food of our lives bar none. Every dish was perfectly explained, plated, and presented. The kitchen was spotless the entire time. Even gave us a little anniversary present. This is THE best restaurant we have ever been to. Thanks for having us.

This place is a once in a lifetime fine dinning experience you will never forget. The ambiance is perfection, sets the mood for a romantic evening out. Forewarned, this place is very pricey but we’ll worth the price. The service is impeccable, and attentive to your every need. We started out with some delicious cocktails to set the mood. They have two different kinds menu services; the tasting menu and then set menu choices where you pick a few items from entrees and then desert. Having these ranges of choices is great, and allows you to curtail dinning around those choices. They brought out bread and French salted butter to start the evening. We went with the roe to start with, moved onto the venison and game entrees, and slowly made our way thru the desert sweets they brought out. The food is unforgettable in every way. The deserts didn’t stop there, they have a desert cart after that is impossible to say no to as well. Overall this fine dinning experience is worth the price, and you will never forget it! I know we won’t ever!

Beautiful food and ambiance. I had the snapper and it was absolutely perfect. The service is incredible. A perfect night out with great company.

This place is so LEGIT!!! We’ve been to the similar place in Paris (St Germaine I think) and this is just as good. Every course was not only beautiful food porn but so delicious. My wife for the 12oz Wagyu ribeye and it melted on the tongue and the fried shizo(?) peppers were a nice companion to cut the fat. Decadence all the way around!

This was an exquisite experience, from the service to the amazing tastes. If you dine here, pay attention. Every detail in the food and how they serve you is carefully planned and executed.
The balance of tastes are amazing. We sat at the tasting bar, which is recommended.
Granted, this is the most we have ever spent on a meal, *ever*, and we did the full tasting menu, but it was a very special occasion. It was worth it, to us.
I have read other reviews where you don’t get much for your money here. Go somewhere else, if that is your goal.

Beautiful decor and excellent Michelin star food! We tried the degustation menu with venison for mains. The Foie Gras mousse with Parmesan foam which was a unique dish... we also had the tarts platter. The famous whipped potatoes were light and fluffy. We also enjoyed their meat and seafood selection. Can’t really go wrong with a well-acclaimed Michelin star restaurant, quite a hefty sum to pay for it though

This was my first dining experience at a Michelin star restaurant and I was left mind blown. The restaurant has a small seating and we were lucky enough to get a booking considering it was New Year's week. We were seated at the bar and saw that tables were reserved for larger groups. But upon spending five minutes we realized these were the best seats on the block as you got a first hand view of the running of a Michelin start kitchen. The chef's work station is totally opened to the diner and it gives great pleasure in watching food being prepared with such delicateness and charm.
The bread basket is free and came with butter though some breads were a bit on on the harder side. We were started off with the amuse bouche which was foie gras reduction and parmesan foam and a glass of their rose wine.
For appetizers we had the L'oeuf (soft fired eggs with smoked salmon) and Les Escargot (snails served with polenta). It was my first time trying snails and I wans't the least bit put off with them - great preparation.
Mains were Le Boeuf (braised beef cheek with red wine reduction served with mashed potatoes) and Le Homard (tagliatelle pasta with lobster). The former was cooked to perfection with a great flavour of wine running through. The latter was a frothy preparation reminding you of the sea with every bite. The dishes were balanced and flavourful.
For dessert we selected Les Cafe but due to some error we were served Les Tartes. Upon mentioning the same to the waiter he let us enjoy the tarts while he prepared our order for us. The tarts were a mouthful with different selections. But what was truly amazing was the Coffee dessert with its impeccable presentation and flavour profile allowing all the nuances and textures that went into it to collectively make a bang on dessert.

What a truly wonderful culinary experience. It was my second time going to a one-starred Michelin restaurant, with the first one being a dim sum place in Hong Kong. Let's just say this is my first one in North America ;)

I remember coming here when I was not too hungry and that ruined my experience a bit, but I think what ruined it the most was the bottle of wine that I ordered. It was a good bottle but I think I drank faster than the rest of my friends and I intoxicated myself to the point where I couldn't taste the wonderful food as well. So yeah, don't come here full and don't drink so fast.

Now that we got those things out of the way, I don't know where to start. The bread. I ate the bread like they were free (and they were part of the meal...) because they tasted so damn good. The butter was out of this world good. The last time I had such wonderful breads was in Paris. Seriously, they know how to make their bread. It was a good start to the evening. The second course was this foam thing that tasted cheesy and stuff. Yeah, I can't remember what it was called because it wasn't on the menu. Just order Menu B and hope they haven't changed their free, unwritten stuff. I think it was foie gras port reduction and parmesan foam actually. The service was excellent so feel free to ask your server.

The mashed potato was unbelievably good! It was so simple yet it made such a lasting impression. It was a taste like no other. Something I truly haven't experienced before. The "Le Canard" and "Le Cochon" were OK but I didn't feel the one-starred Michelin-ness as much with those dishes. The "La Dorade" and "L'oeuf" were more interesting I found. Last but not least, the "Le Cafe" was a truly amazing dessert and I'm not a sweets person.

Overall, I'm happy to have come here and it is a good deal for a one-starred Michelin restaurant. The $65 2013 chablis wine made things a tiny bit more expensive but it was split between 4 people. $109 for Menu B and $81 for Menu A were pretty reasonable. The server did warn me that I'd get full with Menu B and boy was he right. Even if I had come here hungry I'd be full by the end of the meal. Just go easy on the drinks or increase your alcohol tolerance and your meal will be more than enjoyable.

Joel Robuchon is known as the “Chef of the Century”, and L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon is a one-star Michelin restaurant with a more casual atmosphere. Although we weren't blown away by the food, it was still a good experience and much better bang for buck than his other restaurant.

L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon, 1-star Michelin Restaurant!. While hubby and I was planning our early summer vacation, we knew that we wanted to treat ourselves to a really good restaurant while we were in Vegas. MGM Grand is home to Joël Robuchon’s 1-star and 3-star Michelin restaurants by the Ka! Theatre by Cirque du Soleil. Chef Joël Robuchon is better known as the chef of the century because he has the most Michelin stars than any other chef in the world! He currently holds a total of 25 stars combined at all of his restaurants, which is truly incredible.

Service was super nice and prompt. In fact, everyone at the restaurant was very nice, and there were obvious regulars in there.

We had been looking forward to visiting Joel's restaurant ever since we attended the Vegas Uncorked Grand Tasting a few years ago. Joel had a table set up at that event that included his signature Langoustines which made us want to visit his restaurant so we made sure we stopped there on this visit.

Upon arriving, we were seated at the bar seats.. it surprised me a little as there were perfectly good tables but apparently they only seat parties of 4 or more at the tables. After about 10 minutes I understood why they sat us at those seats. It actually added to the whole experience, essentially every person sitting at the bar were treated like they were at a chef's table inside a kitchen. The seats gave you a courtside view of the kitchen and you begin to appreciate how every plate is meticulously made, how clean the kitchen is, no yelling or screaming 'a la Hell's Kitchen'. The chefs all knew what they were doing, you saw the head chef extraditing each ticket, tasting plates every so often and whispering to the chef's who adjusted the plates. You'll notice them cleaning up the plate before it went out, even using tweezers they each had in their pockets to ensure that the details were right. Another couple sat down next to us and had similar inquisitions as to why they were seated at the bar, after about 10 minutes I noticed that they also 'understood' as I did that it actually added to the experience.

We went with the 9-course seasonal tasting menu and I enjoyed every dish. They were portioned so that you could get through the 9 courses without being overly stuffed, they warn you that the 9-course takes about 2 hours to get through and they were accurate. Needless to say, that every dish is well balanced and flavorful and you're constantly anticipating on what flavors the next dish will bring. The progression is well thought out, with flavors intensifying and dishes getting 'heavier' as you worked through the courses. I won't go into too much detail about each dish, i'll let the photos speak for themselves.

Do note that the seasonal discovery menu on the website doesn't always match up with what they are serving in the restaurant, I noticed some patrons asking about this after they had sat down.

In hindsight though and my recommendation is that couples should consider the flexible set-menu where you choose 2 apps and 2 mains as it would give you 4 apps and 4 mains to share, a great way to get a larger sampling of what they offer. In this menu the portions are slightly larger and definitely 'shareable'. All in all, it's a great dining experience... enjoy the atmosphere, the food and treat yourself to a show after dinner, KA is just steps away.

Our dinner at L'Atelier was beyond perfection. We had a great view of their open kitchen, superb service, and most of all, fantastic food! We ordered their seasonal discovery menu and was pleasantly surprised at every dish that we were presented with.

Their cocktail selection was small but delicious, and of course their wine selection is incredible. The service we received during our dinner was polite and on point; the waiters weren't friendly too much (ie. didn't make small talk with us or anything), but everything we needed and wanted were provided within minutes of asking.

Overall, there was nothing we were disappointed with, and we would definitely return here for dinner next time we're in Vegas!

Can you say overpriced? Oui Oui!. L'Atelier is another pretentious MGM joint restaurants there to squeeze additional money from your pockets. The prices are well over $100 per person and the food is not much better than any typical French Restaurant.

My favorite is Jardiniere in San Francisco, but this is Vegas. You are expected to get drunk and pay through your nose for garbage. Oui Oui, you will at L'Atelier

This is amazing place! The food is awesome! I definitely will be back here.

Las Vegas Luxury Dining. This was our Vegas splurge for the trip. And what a splurge!

The decor and ambiance was modern and simple. I loved sitting at the bar and seeing what was going on in the kitchen. It added another level of appreciation for our dinner. Seeing the chefs thoughtfully 'design' each plate so artfully before it came to the table was one of the things about this restaurant that made it unique, besides the amazingly indulgent food. Service was also fantastic. I think I might run out of adjectives before I finish this review.

I started with a salted caramel cocktail which was just as delicious as it sounds.

My husband and I both decided to get the seasonal discovery menu, which is a nine course showcase of some of their finest dishes for $165 per person. For the scallop carpaccio course, you are given the option to add caviar for an extra $35, so our food bill is now $410 for two people.

The food was some of the best I've had, don't bet me wrong, but for the price that we certainly don't mind paying, I thought overall we really weren't getting very much food. I would say that I really truly only enjoyed about half of the courses that came out. I thought that for both of the foie gras dishes, the taste of the foie gras was lost. Perhaps my palette is amateur, but I love foie gras and was a little disappointed with both the 'soup' and their signature quail stuffed with foie gras.

The courses that stood out for me were the scallop carpaccio, calamari, and the very last one which was a cherry dessert. I'm so glad to opted to add the caviar to the scallops. The flavors were so perfect and it added this salty savory and rich element to the dish. The calamari was accompanied by a little ball of sushi rice and it was phenomenal. I can't even try to describe how or why this course was so delectable. The cherry dessert was the perfect ending.

Our bill came to about $600 with drinks and tip, which is an insane amount of money for us to spend on one dinner. Was it worth it? To be honest, I don't think it was. Again, food was spectacular, and presented beautifully but I think next time we'll do a la carte so that we can choose our dishes and pay for more of what we'd want as small as the portions would be.

Fantastic. Who's splitting the bill next stop Joel Robuchon next door!

It Isn't Cheap and It Isn't Quick...But It's Essential. Dining at L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon felt more like a work of art or a travel adventure than it did a dinner our. We sat up at the counter, fully immersed in the choreographed craftsmanship taking place before us, watching as the team prepared each plate down to the finishing touches being applied with tweezers.

I had never experienced a large-course tasting menu before, and now I can't wait for my next chance. Some of the course included sea scallop cooked in the shell with chive oil, langoustines cooked in their shells with green curry and coconut milk, and several foie gras dishes that made me finally realize what all of the fuss was about. My wife had the best lobster salad of her life.

Service was impeccable and friendly, with much attention paid to our wine course, some hefty tastings, and a plate of pastries for our anniversary.

The recommended book Eating Las Vegas calls this "the one place among the Top Ten that we'd choose if we could only go to one for the rest of our lives" and it's easy to see why (though I'm still waiting to try the other nine).

Fantastic. Go with a small group and share plates so you can sample more.

Bucket List Restaurant. This is the restaurant that your average person will hate....really small portions that are very expensive. What you get in the small portion is culinary artistry. Be prepared to spend. Your minimum check will start at very expensive, rise to obscene, and will eventually hit: "Are you effing kidding me? I could have put a down payment on a house for that amount." The bread is phenomenal. Load up throughout your meal because you need filler for the small portions. Burger sliders with foie gras are great. Truffle pasta dish was amazing. La caille - quail with the mashed potatoes was incredible. We ordered sides of just the mashed potatoes because they are so good. Mashed potatoes are deceiving because these potatoes are whipped, light and airy with equal amounts of butter to potatoes....soooo tasty. The fresh raspberry dessert is a must. We spent over $300 on our meal for 2 and felt like the paupers in the restaurant. You can easily spend $2K per couple if you get into the rare wines and off menu dishes that include large amounts of truffle, caviar, and gold leaf. Yes, they will put gold on your food if you ask them. Sit at the bar and prepare yourself for a seldom viewed, masterful, culinary experience.

Awesome. L'Atelier has the best of everything - excellent wait staff - amazing food - super experience - dreaming about it still. Applause. Bravo!

We had reservation at 8:30.... We had reservation at
8:30the table wasn't redy ,the hostes was carefree .For a upscale restaurant I would expect a litle more attention,we waited 30min and decided to go next door to wolfgang puck where whit no reservation we only wait 10min.and the sevice was wonderful.
Grub 'n' Brew In Da Zoo
Outstanding. We ended up at L'Atelier quite by accident. We were coming into town for a wedding and had lucked into a reservation at E. Unfortunately, our flight was delayed an hour and 1/2 and we missed the reservation. This led to a mad scramble to try and find a suitable substitute, and long story short, we "ended up" at L'Atelier, not gastronomy in its purest sense, but it "would do"...

...4 courses into the tasting menu and it was clear that we had chosen wisely. I won't bore you by detailing every course (others have done that below), I would be remiss not to call out a couple of the standouts. The poached oysters in butter were downright outstanding, as were there langoustines (perfectly cooked and complimented by a green curry and coconut milk) and sea bass (in a sauce I couldn't quite pinpoint, but would sell my big toe to have again). But, the standouts for me were the La Cebette -- essentially, an artist's rendering of a French cafe breakfast (bacon, eggs, asparagus, white onion tart) in a single, incredibly complex and expertly prepared tart (it looked phenomenal, and tasted it as well) -- and, not surprisingly, the La Caille (the house signature dish) which is a dish that could go so terribly wrong in the wrong hands, but was everything it was cracked up to be and more; the foie gras was rich, velvety smooth and came together perfectly with the quail, and the whole thing was paired with the most creamy mashed potatoes to have ever passed my lips (so smooth, I could be convinced it was a sauce). Also, the jamon we started with (not on the tasting menu) was, well, exactly as good as you think it is.

All of this coupled with a modern, yet pleasant layout, some great seats at the bar to watch the action, and a phenomenal waitstaff came together to make for an evening we won't soon forget. Yes, it was our second choice, but...it was quite the second choice.

FAVORITE. This might be my favorite restaurant in the country! I go here every time I'm in Las Vegas and I always think I always get the very best I had anywhere. The food is always presented in an artful way but more important are the high end ingredients very masterfully crafted. Just look at the photos they are so much more than I can say.

So good.. Just the best cuisine and service I've experienced. Very welcoming. They are true artisans. It is expensive especially if you aren't used to spending $200-300 on a meal for two. It's worth every penny.

I will make sure to come to this little spot every time im in las vegas. I was in las vegas about a year ago and ate here, i had the tasting menu everything they brought out was so unique looking and full of different flavors. i am a real foodie and im fast to judge if something isnt done to perfection. i sat at the open kitchen where there have tall chairs along the little bar the decor was so unique and i loved how well everyone worked together and how professional they all were and one thing i loved was the prosciutto leg sitting right there and they would take their little knives and thinly slice it off yum! we finished the meal with ice cream tastings i think the flavors were chocolate, vanilla, cappuccino, and tequila everything was wonderful i would send anyone there thats going to vegas!

Once in a lifetime. Great experience for any food lover. I was captivated being able to watch the kitchen prep and cook. It was thrilling to see the work that goes into plating. And then there is the reason we went...the food. What an experience. My friend and I tried the six course tasting menu. Some of the highlights, a delicious and light amuse bouche that included avacado cream. The fried Langostine with Basil had a great balance of flavors and was plated beautifully. For a main a perfectly cooked flank steak served with the lightest richest mashed potatos ever. And for dessert they were sold out of the tarts so I chose a yuzu chocolate and raspberry dessert which was so good and wonderfully presented with a warm sauce poured on top to melt the chocolate ball. This was a great stop and I would love to go again.

An experience not to be missed. An incredible experience that no food lover should miss. With a counter area that wraps around three sides of the chef's prep/cooking stations, you can pull up a chair and enjoy watching your chef create what might best be termed as 'edible art'. You can order ala carte off the menu, or go for the 'discovery' menu (typically 10 courses, offerings will change with the seasons) and then sit back and enjoy. Portion sizes are small, but if you leave hungry, it's definitely by choice. If you're celebrating a special occasion (birthday/anniversary/etc), mention that when making your reservation, you might get an extra treat.

Desserts are the star. The favorite of the night where we were playing "fencing" spoons was the passion fruit in a coconut meringue. The meringue is filled with a very tart and airy passionfruit mousse, a baked alaska sans ice cream. A very beautiful ethereal way to end the meal, such that the final fantasy end theme music played in my head.

Very memorable. We went to L'Atelier after we got married. You expect the place to be stuffy and formal with snotty waiters. It could not have been further from the truth. The server was very pleasant, friendly and explained the dished without being intrusive. Food was fantastic and it was a real experience to watch the open kitchen in action. Next time I am in Vegas, it's a return visit.

The Joel Robuchon Luncheon of a Lifetime!. Last weekend, I did a very special luncheon at L'Atelier with none other than Mr. "Chef of the Century" himself, Joel Robuchon! This was part of the exciting lineup of events at Vegas Uncork'd. We did a "cooking class" with the master, followed by lunch.

We started off with an actual cooking show at L'Atelier. None other than Joel Robuchon himself was leading the class, teaching us how to do langoustine fritters and seared beef just as he would serve right there at L'Atelier... With his Paris and Vegas crews there to do "sous chef duties" and translate his French instructions into English.

Since we don't have forever, I won't bore you too much with the cooking class details. Let's just say Robuchon doesn't do things the way most of us Americans typically cook. Wait on the salt, don't overdo the garlic, give the meat some time after pulling it out of the refrigerator, and always remember to cook with love. :-D

After the cooking demonstration, we were whisked away to The Mansion for some fine French Champagne with none other than Joel Robuchon himself. And yes, I obviously had a chance to meet him and snap a quick pic. Let me just say he isn't actually as intimidating as person as you'd think Mr. "Chef of the Century" "More Michelin Stars Than Anyone Else Around!" would be. Dare I say he was actually quite the charmer? He even did a toast with us!

OK, so let's get to the food! Here's what you've been waiting for:

- The amuse bouche was a lovely small plate of grapefruit gelee and avocado creme. It may sound odd, but the rich and creamy avocado balances surprisingly well the strong tart of the grapefruit.

- The langoustine fritters were amazing! The langoustine itself still tasted fresh and direct-from-the-sea, while the batter was light and didn't overwhelm the langoustine.

- The beef ribeye was seasoned simply with mainly just salt, pepper, onion, and garlic... And that's all it needed, as the natural beef flavors were singing a beautiful melody with my taste buds! The wasabi spinach that accompanied packed a nice punch, alongside the hearty mushrooms, asparagus, and green & red bell peppers.

- The strawberry panacotta was simply divine, with a simple panacotta that was surprisingly made from heavy cream and yogurt, along with real vanilla beans (which we had a chance to smell and feel during the cooking show!). The strawberry basil couli lovingly highlighted the natural sweetness of the fruit and the basil without any type of "sugar overload".

- And finally, we were served a fantastic 2008 Sancerre Loire Valley white wine with lunch. It had a nice fruity taste, with some floral highlights. This especially matched the langoustine fritters well.
A Chef's Better Half
Best $500 meal in my life!. Beautiful experience - we had to try the tasting menu with pairings. Very hard for me to swallow the bill, but very easy to swallow the food! lol Enjoy!

Beyong amazing!

Amazing experience. Sat at the counter so got to see all the action. Not inexpensive, definitely "french" portions so assume youll need many portiions to leave full. But the service was incredible, so we got to watch all the dishes come out and order as we saw what we wanted without feeling guilty. The foie gras burgers were amazing, as were several small tasting dishes, and a well balanced cheese plate made a great dessert to finish off a great bottle of wine from a very nice wine list. Definitely an experience worth the price.

One of the finest restaurants in the world - in Las Vegas!. L'Atelier is a world-class restaurant. My wife and I have been here twice (once in 2007 and again in 2009). What makes it so remarkable is the depth and quality of their tasting menu. You can share and sample so many flavors -- like an endless parade of oversized amuse-bouche. So be forewarned: this isn't some celebrity chef outpost. L'Atelier is the real deal for people who seek creative, unique gastronomic experiences.

With that in mind, my wife and I decided to order a broad selection of sharable plates. Of the dozen or so small items, not a one disappointed. Each plate was portioned for a couple of bites each for my wife and I; just enough to savor the incredible flavor. It's very hard to narrow down favorites, but we'd recommend:
- crispy langoustine fritters
- any of their dishes with foie gras, especially the burgers and the free-range quail (mashed potatoes a bonus on that one)
- scallops cooked with truffle butter
- lobster in ring of macaroni
- sea bass

Of course, great food requires great service. L'Atelier delivers here, too. Our waiter was an eager partner, helping us choose the best selections from an incredible menu. He, and the kitchen, did a great job of timing; each dish arrived at the exact right time (not too soon, not too late). The restaurant manager also dropped by a few times to share some of his favorite dishes and experiences with us.

I've never been anywhere as wonderful as L'Atelier, and I've had the good fortune to dine at some truly great restaurants across the globe. If you're looking for unforgettable dining experiences, L'Atelier should be at the top of your list.

Wonderful Dining Experience. This is one of the best restaurant I have ever been to. It was more than just dining, it was a culinary treat. Was lucky enough to sit at the bar and watch as they prepared various dishes. One place that everyone that really loves food should have the chance to experience.

Fun. I had dinner alone at the counter.
The staff are very friendly.
Everything was delicious.
It was a lot of fun.
Great for a date, or alone.
Sit at the counter so you can see all of the action.

Great Experience. Loved L'Atelier. The counter seats are front stage and center to all the action in the kitchen. A great variety of gourmet entree's. The mashed potatoes are a decadent must have! They are 50% potato, 50% butter! YUM!
When ordering desert, and you will order desert, make sure you and your date make different selections, so you could share a bit of each! They aren't just pretty to look at.

Joel Robuchon was named “Chef of the Century” and has this restaurant has won numerous awards. I didn’t know what to order so I went for it and ordered the seasonal discovery menu.

Date of visit: January 31, 2014 L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon Las Vegas is a one-Michelin star restaurant. It's located in MGM Grand right beside Joel Robuchon. We went here instead of Joel Robuchon that has three Michelin stars because it was more affordable and seemed to have a high rating as well. My reservation was at 5:45pm, and we got seated at the bar right away. I think most people were brought to the bar until there's no more seats at the bar, unless the customers request to sit at the table. When I arrived, there were only two other couples sitting at the bar, but the restaurant was filled up soon after. Both my boyfriend and I went with Dinner Option A: $78.00 per person. It includes Amuse Bouche, two hot/cold appetizers, one main dish and one dessert. We thought the portion would be very small, but we ended up leaving the restaurant full. Complimentary bread service with butter. I heard that they would be providing bread service with a bread cart over at Joel Robuchon, but it

For Christmas Eve we had dinner at this fabulous one-Michelin-star-restaurant. The décor and atmosphere is trendy, chic, sexy with a black and red color scheme, yet classy and refined. There is a great upbeat vibe in here; there is a fair amount of noise that completes Robuchon’s vision of a “less stuffy restaurant” vs. a formally classic white-tablecloth candle-lit serenity – a nice contrast. An open kitchen is the perfect touch to this fairly small restaurant, with a surrounding bar and about 7 tables or so to fill up the remaining space. On this special occasion, my family and I indulged in the $185 Menu Découverte (Seasonal Discovery Menu). L’Amuse bouche ( Foie gras parfait with port wine reduction and parmesan emulsion ) This first dish made a great first impression! It was very light, and the foie gras was so creamy melt-in-your-mouth with such a nic

Joel Robuchon was named "Chef of the Century" mainly for taking French Cuisine in a new direction by modernizing his dishes. After inspiration from the sushi bars in Tokyo, he decided to come up with restaurants utilizing casual counter seating along with an open kitchen hence "L'atelier" (meaning " the workshop") concept. I'm a huge fan of counter seating mainly because either I dine alone, with a friend who's eyes I don't want to deeply gaze in every 20 seconds, or especially a first date as there's never a dull moment of pause as there's always something to talk about as you can see the food being prepared or the chef/waiter can chime in to fill those uncomfortable voids. The main reason why I tend to prefer counter seating vs. at a table, especially at a sushi bar, is that food is served immediately dish-by-dish. In addition, it's fun to watch the chefs

There is no way I will skip this restaurant the next time I’m in Vegas!

Our server was great! He would explain each dish to us and was always there to answer any questions we had. He even noticed when one of us was away from the table and made sure to bring out the next course after our return so that the dish does not sit out in the cold for too long. Now THAT is service – suck it rude server from Bouchon!
The Picky Glutton
Apart from a couple of missteps the cooking at L’Atelier is both inventive and accomplished. L’Atelier’s tasting menus are not cheap, but if you’re in any way interested in Modern European cuisine it’s well worth trying out. If only they would sort out their ridiculously uncomfortable seating.

...King Crab a la plancha with vegetables and lemongrass oil. Is it wrong that I still want to call this The Crab of La Mancha? It tasted really good ... so good that we had to fight back the urge to sing The Impossible Dream, which is a mercy for everyone who was in the restaurant that night.

Name Chef of the Century, of course I had his restaurant while I am in Vegas but Joel Robuchon ( @RobuchonLV ) $425pp Tasting is way out of our budget, so we went next door to L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon next door. It's the culinary workshop of the gourmet mastermind, featuring counter service where everything is prepare right before your eyes in the open kitchen. I will always love an open kitchen concept since it's just fascinating to watch the chefs working on the dishes but thought the decor of the the space here is a bit dated. They have a 5 and 6 course prix fixe menu for $78 or $105pp as well as a $159pp 12 course Seasonal Discovery Menu but a la carte is also available. With dishes of $25 and up, the prix fixe is really the best choice. We decided on the 5 course option which include an amuse bouche, 2 Entrées, 1 main and 1 desserts. Amuse Bouche ~ Foie Gras parfait with a port wine and Parmesan foam Les Endives ~ Endives méli mélo with foie gras shavings and blue cheese

The food here is SO fantastic. It's one of those places where every first bite you take from a new course, you can only chew twice before you have to stop, let your still occupied mouth gape open enough to mutter the words, 'oh my god'.
Bruleeblog
An important part of the dining experience here is watching the kitchen staff make your food. It is for this reason that Robuchon calls this series of restaurants “the workshop,” or L’Atelier.

This place is good If you enjoy tasting plates and sitting by the bar watching all the meticulous details that top notch chef’s are trained to pay attention to. However, many may find the food too expensive for it’s value.

Vegas, pure and simple, revolves around money. Ways to make it (for the lucky few), and ways to be relieved of the burden of an (even temporarily) overweight bank account (for the remaining majority of people). The greatest part of that equation is the explosion of world class dining venues, as another (arguably better, from a food lover's perspective anyway) way for visitors to draw enjoyment from carefree / conspicuous spending. I am not one who is afflicted with an obese wallet - but having saved on meals and other areas throughout the year, I do allow myself to indulge in a spectacular meal or two on occasion...as long as I'm not taking rent money or loans to do it, right So, just before a business trip to Vegas, I threw out a request for recs to the Twitter hive mind, and was excited when sinosoul recommended L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon as good value for the fine dining meal. As the chef with the most Michelin stars in the world (where others strive whole lifetimes for just one,

This time I made sure I got reservations at L’Atelier at the MGM Grand.

I have to admit I love girly-drinks. I ordered their highly recommended raspberry mohito. I’ve chosen the seasonal menu, an 11 course tasting experience.

For dinner, I made a reservation at L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon at the MGM Grand. First, the amuse bouche: Warm Shot of Foie Gras with Port Wine? and Parmesan Foam?.
Eating Is The Hard Part
To me, visiting Joël Robuchon is a bucket list item. And, if you are like me and you love good food, making a visit to any of his restaurants is surely a bucket list item for you as well...Needless to say, when I was in Vegas this summer, I took the opportunity to book a reservation. Located next to the flag ship, three Michelin starred Joël Robuchon , L’Atelier (which translates to workshop) is the dark and moody single Michelin starred little brother

L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon is the workshop of the Chef of the Century Joel Robuchon in the MGM Grand Las Vegas. The open kitchen allows diners to see artful modern French cuisine made right before their eyes. It is located next to Joel Robuchon, the chef's top-of-the-line restaurant. While French restaurants often offer limited options for vegetarian diners, there is a complete vegetarian menu and degustation available nightly at L'Atelier. Vegan diners were out of luck on the menu - dishes were almost always made with cheese and/or eggs - but the talented kitchen is capable of turning out great items for just anybody with advance notice. The open kitchen concept has been utilized by other chefs to great success - visit The Catbird Seat in Nashville to see the approach absolutely shine. The dining room itself is a show with chefs performing acts of culinary precision in a way that puts every diner at the kitchen table. The beverage program at L'Atelier shows the same rigorous care as t

If you didn't know before, Joel Robuchon's mashed potatoes are insane famous, we're talking really really famous. It is unreal how creamy and flavorful they are. Although the potatoes have tons of butter in them, the end product tastes fresh and creamy, not heavy and buttery at all.

While I wouldn’t put it in my top meals of all time or any outrageous claim like that (and it is priced as if it should be), it was fantastic. Some real home runs (like the wondrous scallop with uni below), stunning wines, and a cool ambience/view of the kitchen. Though my ass and back hurt the entire time in their simple bar seats.
