China Express

What used to be China Express is now KAKACHI (thought Google Maps had steered me wrong or something 😛). They still sell shrimp egg rolls so I was happy about that, and they were good and not greasy. My favorite closer-to-me Chinese restaurant, China Garden, and others in the area don't carry shrimp egg rolls. It's a treat I missed occasionally getting. Used to eat them a lot growing up in NJ, would still sometimes get in VA/MD, and when I lived in Orlando. I guess it's just not a Pinellas County thing. 🙂 I also got a small beef fried rice and it wasn't bad; felt like it didn't have whatever other places do (more oils perhaps? Or that they don't offer pork fried rice which I've recently gotten into), so although the rice was a bit mushy it felt heathier. The beef was well cooked unlike other places, so I appreciate that. The place is so small and they have the cooking area blocked so I was worried, but ended up pleasantly surprised. Parking lot is tight, and full when folks are at the bar next door though.

I have to say, this is my favorite Chinese restaurant in Tampa Bay. I used to live walking distance from it and the food is incredible. The prices are also awesome. Their General Tso chicken is great and they make the best bourbon chicken anywhere. I was SO happy when I finally moved into a new home that was close enough for (free) delivery. Try it!

I do not recommend eating here the chicken is under cooked and the chicken is just honey mustard on a piece of chicken. Do not eat here unless you want to get food poisoning. Since it is near a animal care place i have a theory that they take a dead animals and put it in the food and lable it as chicken

The rice was old, the soup was cold, the lomein was frightening and my toilet will be blown up tonight by the inveitble ass lightning. But, seriously this place was not worth it at all. the food was very poor in taste and freshness. I would not order or go there ever again. BUT, the egg rolls were delicious so there's where the one 🌟 came from. Everything else's was 💩💩💩

Loyal customer for 5+ years and thanks to a mix up ( person on the phone placed wrong order by accident ) and after receiving my delivered meals, discovered the wrong order!? Not the norm, so I called back only to be received by a hostile, condescending rude woman who refused to make it right! I even offered to pay more! Dinner nights are far and few between and I wanted to so desperately to make my families meal time perfect and she simply let me know that she didn't care and was NOT going to make it right. Tisk Tisk, you just lost a great loyal customer and sadly will NEVER be going back. Thanks for ruining family dinner night China Express, Thanks!
