The sushi was excellent and the owner was extremely friendly! I would highly recommend this place to anyone. I think the price is very reasonable for the amount and quality of sushi you get. I will be going back soon! Also, the owner told me that he will be the only one working here from now on, so I would disregard any previous reviews about poor customer service or lack of sushi knowledge from staff members. I had a wonderful chat with the owner and he knows how to make sushi!

I walked in to someone waiting with a smile to help me. The restaurant was perfectly clean and smelled wonderful. The udon was fantastic. Prices are very reasonable. The most expensive item is 15 dollars.

Concept of custom sushi rolls is amazing; it's like a Subway for sushi. Taste was really good (obviously depends on what you order). Price is about the same as regular sushi restaurant. Customer service was the best that I have ever had.

I visited Tamaki for the first time recently and had a great experience. I chose to pick my own sushi, and it was really good! The chef was very friendly and helpful. He gave me recommendations when I wasn't sure what to order as well as entertained us by letting us ask questions and talk to him while he was making our sushi. The price was also great, you can get a whole roll for under $10 and the experience alone is worth that much. You really can't beat the price for sushi that is as good or better as many of the other sushi restaurants around East Lansing. I recommend Tamaki for anyone who likes sushi or for anyone who wants a unique dining experience.

I am a frequent customer here and the staff are always friendly and the service is excellent. The custom rolls are fresh and delicious and the staff doesn't hold back on requesting extra sauce. The miso soup is good, as are the dumplings and the environment is nice for a date or just a family outing. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who loves sushi.

This was our first time trying tamaki restaurant. The service was great. We were able to try flavors and sauces before we even decided on a custom roll. Prices were good and everything was fresh and delicious. Thanks to Wavie P. for taking the time to make lunch fun and appetizing. We'll be sure to come back!
