let me start off by saying, i freaking LOVE this place. every single time i have ordered food from jays, it was spot on and exactly how i wanted it each and every time. i always get the cheese steak with extra American cheese on a pretzel roll with mayo... every single time i have eaten one of the cheesesteaks it has my mouth watering. i highly recommend this joint! it’s local, and of course the staff is always polite!

Jays is the best cheesesteak place, I have loved everything I have ordered here. I love how many gluten free options available and that as someone with celiac disease I can safely eat here. The breakfast sandwiches are my favorite and a must have.

Family arrived here around noon. Food was fresh and made to order. We heard about this place on the gluten free boards, where they were ranked pretty highly. Almost, if not everything can be made GF. Food was pretty awesome. And we felt good about our celiac daughter eating here and not getting sick. If you're in the area, this is a pretty good stop.

I had not had a cheesesteak yet and needed to get one before I left Philly. I found Jay's on the route to the airport. There aren't many parking spots, but it was raining, so I had no issues. You go up and order, then wait. It was raining and chilly so he told me I could wait in the car and ge'd bring it to me. What service! I prefer a steak and cheese made with provolone, so I got Jay's favorite. It was delicious, and I loved the kick the hot pepper relish gave it. Be ready to eat! The roll size is 12", and that's the smallest. They do have outisde seating under a carport. I would have sat outside, but it was a little too chilly for me. I was very satisfied and happy to have found them along my route!

Excellent casual place for hoagies, steaks and fries. Huge gluten free menu. Pretzel rolls are a must. Large portions, fresh quality food. Jay actually exists and is onsite, super nice and passionate about his food.

Amazing selection of gluten free food and “regular” food. The gf pretzel roll was out of this world. All of their ice cream toppings including the cones are gf. Only feedback is they gave us the smallest amount of sprinkles on our cones.

Gluten-free Sandwich shop. Jay's steak and hogey joint was fabulous. They have a dedicated gluten free kitchen with extraordinarily knowledgeable staff. They even have a separate cook to keep everything separated and safe. We meet the owner and he was quite a character. It was a pleasure to eat here outside on their patio on such a beautiful day. If your passing through philadelphia and are hungry, Take the time get off the highway and stop and enjoy something delicious to eat. They do have traditional gluten full options.

Excellent! My 1st experience was at their awesome food truck visiting over in Bristol borough at the Odd logic brewery and I was super impressed with the QUALITY of the sandwich. We've all had great cheesesteak but here it's a whole package of fantastic rib eye steak meat and tasty toppings on the best pretzel long rolls ever! I would compare the fluffy texture to the Bristol Amish market pretzels, not the thin dry pretzels of some chain pretzel sandwiches. The second my tongue touched the roll I literally realized this was an authentic pretzel NOT a roll just looking like a pretzel. I ordered the South Philly Philly which has real whiz and nicely chopped in-fried onions. No meat grizzle, no chewy funk, this is a memorable sandwich moment! My next visit was at their own location which is in a residential area so don't think you're messing up when you're on your way. I used Google directions on my phone and it's really easy to get to. We tried their cheesesteak egg rolls which you can choose to get an additional filling in and I got the French onion which is a cream cheese based spread with the frizzled breaded thin fried onions which was a very nice accompaniment to the appetizer and then it is all rolled up in egg roll and they're very fat and delicious. I also ordered the bacon cheeseburger fries. This is not how I expected it to come and it was so much better than I imagined it being and I expected a lot after my first terrific experience. The hamburger meat is chopped and then the meat and the cheese and bacon were all on top of perfectly cooked fries which were larger than shoestring and smaller than steak fries. They were perfect to hold up with the mouthfuls of meat. The portions on everything that we've gotten so far are very generous also by the way. I took a while to write this review after my first experience because I had so much to say and all of it positive. The owners were very friendly and the workers at the Jay's location we're very nice and helpful and they were even bringing the food out to the cars once it was done. Inflation is causing the prices of food to go up everywhere so at this eatery I totally felt like the money I spent on absolutely everything I purchased was totally reflected in the quality of the food... which we got 2 meals out of. If you like cheese steaks you absolutely must stop here. They also have gluten-free options and you can get regular buns as well. Also check the pictures they have some nice outdoor seating. They do have shortened hours. I believe they're closed Monday and Tuesday and that they close at 8:00 on their other days. But as we've noticed in most restaurants, hours of operation seem to be pretty fluid so I would suggest that you call or check online. My most recent visit is May 2022.

I've eaten from here for cheesesteaks three times (one being takeout) and we've been equally happy whether sit down or take home. I love the garlic bread cheesesteak. There's a good amount of steak with a delicious flavor. The french fries are plentiful and moderately crispy. We prefer the garlic bread roll over the pretzel roll because it's less soggy. So happy we found this establishment last year. Top notch cheesesteaks.

Jay's is great. It's your standard suburb steak shop in terms of ingredients used (very similar to The Works). But Jay's has a ton of unique menu items, including a bunch of sandwiches on pretzel rolls and a full gluten free menu. The food is always good. Location is brutal. It's smack dab in the middle of a neighborhood. And to make it worse, it's a neighborhood surrounded on 3 sides by Neshaminy Creek. Great for the people living in the neighborhood. Not so great for anyone living outside the neighborhood. It's only a 10-15min drive for me though, so I make it over there from time to time. They seriously would do so much better in a shopping center though. They're already busy, so they would clean house in a place that's more accessible.
