We stopped in this little place for lunch, and it’s quite a hidden gem. The staff was friendly and food was simply delicious! Would recommend to anyone wanting to try some traditional Peruvian food:)
Wonderful food but be prepared, the staff when we were there didn't speak English. That, however, was not an impediment to having a wonderful meal and excellent service
Absolutely exceptional food.
Be ready to wait for your order, but it worst it!
Came back to have Peruvian food after a couple years. The food was ok, the lombo saltado meat was a bit dry and anticucho could have a bit more cummin. My husband is Peruvian and i have eaten Peruvian food in many places . This place is decent food but It can b a bit pricey depending what u order.
I don't eat tomato's at all and the only dish i will eat tomatos is lombo saltado.
Food was some of the best Peruvian I’ve had in a long time. Thank you for serving us! We’ll be back. 👏👏👏👏
The bathroom smells bad and it's really small and when I was going to wash my hands one of its parts broke
Service was a little slow but a little nice spot, I enjoyed my meal and overall would come again.
We got two appetizers to start and the four of us each sampled each other’s entrees. Everything was absolutely fantastic. We are planning our next supper date soon!
The food was good and the portions were very generous. The service was quick, as the place was empty when we arrived. However, I would say there is an opportunity to improve the service. There is an opportunity to enhance the way they greet and interact with their customers. When you arrive you should be greeted by friendly staff and you should feel welcomed. Every interaction that is had with the customer should be positive. If they can work on this aspect of the customer experience, I don't see why they cannot be more successful.
Really impressed with the food. My wife and I were on a weekend getaway to Lancaster and found this place online. We live closer to NYC so we always go to Passaic/Paterson for the best Peruvian cuisine.
Whenever we travel to other states, we don’t expect to get the best authentic flavors, but La Costena really impressed me. I actually thought that their pollo saltado a la probre was the best I’ve had. I love the fact that they included the fried plaintains and fried egg with my dish as it’s a combination I’ve not encountered at any Peruvian restaurant before. And they marinate the chicken separately with ginger and garlic as those are some of my favorite ingredients. The chicken came out so tender and flavorful.
My wife loved her seafood and rice dish and the ceviche picante which used Swai fish, the same that I use when I make ceviche at home. To top it off the restaurant is BYOB, and the music they were playing was awesome, a combination of 80’s and Latin music. I swear, they stole my personal playlist. Definitely give this place a try when you’re in the Lancaster area.
