Piggin' Out Smokehouse

Great mom-and-pop BBQ joint with covered outdoor seating (heaters, too). We had the sampler platter for two people, which had ample amounts of brisket, sausage, turkey, cornbread with 2 sides of mac and cheese. Turkey was a little saltier than we like, but flavors are good, and the raspberry chipotle sauce is delish and super spicy. And they have Blue Sky root beer on the fountain. Love the atmosphere. Will def return.

I've driven by the restaurant numerous times and always kick myself for not stopping because it smells amazing. Today, we bit the bullet and ordered take out. We got the Piggin Out Sampler, with mashed potatoes and kale salad. All the meats in the sampler were remarkable, my favorite being the ribs, my husband's favorite being the ribs. Tender, juicy, flavorful without needing any sauce at all. But the sauces were also amazing. The stand out was absolutely the Sweet Pineapple. Sweet, without being overtly so. We also had the Spicy (a kick without too much spice), Mild (good for all the meats), and Carolina Vinegar (thicker than I would have expected, but a nice vinegary bite). The mashed potatoes were smooth and almost smokey flavored, pairing perfectly with the BBQ. And the kale salad was the perfect crunchy fresh bite, topped with apples and golden raisins to cut the deep rich flavors of the meat. The amount of food that came in the sampler was great for the price, enough food for 3-4 people, all for only $39.99. For us, a great meal, with enough leftovers for tomorrow as well. We will absolutely be back.

The BBQ is excellent here and the potato salad is the best! I love the outdoor experience they have created and the service is outstanding. The only thing I would change is the drink offerings - it's such a quaint place and the feel is just screaming for scratch made lemonade and iced tea. I think it's possible they might offer lemonade, but I was pointed in the direction of the fountain drinks which had Minute Maid and it wasn't good.

Our work travels to different BBQ restaurants and we compare. Today we had a great experience. All outdoor seating but the weather was nice today. They do have outdoor heaters if needed. Dog friendly patio. Great beer selection. Our favorite was the Brisket and Pulled Pork Mac N Cheese was fabulous. We will definitely be back.
