Caffe Rustica

The food here was great specially the appetizer. This would be few of restaurants I would recommend here at Lake Placid. The environment was cozy and service was pleasant. They have grocery store next to the restaurant if you were here on the first day and needed to do grocery shopping. Would recommend for anyone to try it.

We had a large party of 10 on a Saturday night at this establishment. They sat us at the time we had reserved, it was nice table in the back of the restaurant. The server was really good. He was friendly outgoing explained anything we asked and was very attentive all night long. The food was very very good, I had a beautiful steak with blue cheese that just melted in my mouth. So far my favorite restaurant in Lake Placid.

Love this place. Only a few restaurants were open in Lake Placid NY, and I remembered this one from a previous visit. Tucked away in the left corner of the Price Chopper parking lot. It is worth the stop. Fine dining price and fine dining tastes! Liked it so much I went back four days later for another meal. My friends gave me a taste of the Salmon dish and a veal dish. I would have been very happy with either of those also. I had the Lobster Bisque with my meal and savored each spoonful. I wish they were here in my hometown, I would be a regular.

What a find! This Italian restaurant has the mixture of options that suit my adventurous curiosities and my wife’s preference for familiarity. The pan fried goat cheese appetizer with beet salad was wonderful, the cheese prepared with an exquisite crust on the outside. And the mushroom ravioli? Extraordinary! A divine, cheesy sauce, and pasta made and cooked to sheer perfection! I would have tried more but didn’t want to overly stuff myself. My only caution is to make sure they have a dedicated bartender, if you’re looking for mixed drinks. Ours came out a little too strong, but the drinks had been made by serving staff.

Everything about this place was marvelous; the atmosphere, our waiter had a lot of character, the rest of the staff is very nice and the food was tasty. Only reason I'm giving a four star is because the core of the pizza was tasty but once I got to just the crust I realized how bland it was. I've had hundreds of pizzas in my life, this was still very tasty, I just wish the actual crust had a little more character/flavor. We had the pan seared goat cheese, Saltimbocca, ravioli carbonara, French onion soup and the special 5 cheese pizza. The fresh baked bread that they brought out with olive oil and balsamic was spectacular. To drink we had an Aperol Spritz, Lake Effect Mojito, and a Pinot noir. Aperol spritz was fantastic, the lake effect mojito was tasty but not very strong, however was very refreshing.

We had a table for 7 reserved. Four adults and three kids. Our reservation was for 5:30. When making the reservation and when they called to confirm, we were NOT told there was a strict time limit on the table of 1.5 hours. We were extremely rushed. I didn’t even have a chance to finish my drink when someone came up at 7:02 and told us to wrap things up because they need to seat the next party. We didn’t even get to order tea or coffee. Yes the food was good but when I am going to a nice dinner, I also want to relax and enjoy myself. This is not how you do business or get repeat customers. I will not be coming back nor will I be recommending this place to anyone.
