Tavern On Kruse

First time last week. Their prices are SO good. They do have $35+ entree plates, yes. But everything is SO appropriately priced. Most sides and apps are under $10 vs McMenamins would be $15-20 for the same dish, let alone Kruse’ burgers are under $20! And even their more expensive Poke Bowl app is like a MASSIVE amount of poke on top a heaping portion of guac. It was SO good. But really what sealed the deal was when I was served their steak tenderloin, which I ordered medium rare, it was over cooked to a medium well-“ish” and before I could even get a word out our server noticed and told me she’ll take it back. Talk about service!

Omg, pumpkin beignets were to die for...so light and delicious. So good we devoured them before I got a pic. The seafood omelette with house smoked trout and crab and leak fondue was so good and as much as I usually hate red peppers they were an amazing accent to the dish and were just a touch sweet. The hubs had the beef brisket hash though less hash like and more bowl like it was equally delightful with large chunks of house smoked brisket tossed with a nice assortment of root vegetables. Their fall menu dropped today and so far it's amazing!

This was our second visit to Tavern on Kruse and the food was once again phenomenal. The patio is really lovely, especially the area around the front, and it was very quiet and serene for our brunch. Both of the benedicts (crab/steak and smoked ham) we ordered were fantastic - this place nails the hollandaise - and the chef's bowl with pork belly was a winner. The portions are good for the price as well. Our service was a little less attentive than we'd have liked this time, but I still absolutely recommend it for the exceptional food and relaxing environment.

Kent Lewis and Chef Nate recently re-vamped their already tasty choices and you can’t beat a relaxing mid-day lunch in the open air.
