Nicely located. Fantastic spot for a mai tai during happy hour. They’re only $4 and absolutely delicious. You can do some good people watching from here as well. It’s a nice old place with a lovely open area. The meals are absolutely huge. Service is quirky but effective. One the servers here seems perpetually agitated. Maybe he’s the manager and feels he has to cover every contingency. He’s mighty efficient though and it’s entertaining.

Breakfast...... Just a fun place to have breakfast. The omlette with pineapple and sausage was unique and very good. And order a 1/4 cut pineapple. The way they cut it is great!

The best Sunday brunch! Chef Lee Anne Wong has completely transformed the pioneer inn. The food is fresh and delicious with an ever changing menu. You can taste the fresh local ingredients! The French toast is next level along with the Ramen. Order a bunch and share with the table.

If you are looking for a unique breakfast experience and dish then I HIGHLY recommend this place. I learned only after going that the head chef has won a season of top chef or something equivalent to. We started out with the breakfast Ramen and I was absolutely blown away. The maple butter in the broth was just another layer to this magnificent flavor already in this dish. The second choice we ordered was the mapo moco which was another amazing twist on an already great classic. Highly recommend and would love to try this place at a later time for dinner.

So we ended up going for Sunday brunch Papa'aina. The wait at 9:30am (15-20min) was not bad at all (could it be because of the Maui marathon???). We put our name down on the Yelp! kiosk in front of the hostess station and went for a walk across the street to look at the huge Banyan tree and the tourists lining up to board their ships for excursions. The service was great, the food was creative and delicious. Our server said the two most popular dishes are the breakfast ramen and the french toasts. Had the ramen, mushroom toast, and fish of the day bowl (sauce is a little spicy). The presentations were beautiful. The vibe was good, casual and relaxing. Took a stroll down Front Street afterwards to do the touristy stuff. Would have loved to also had time to try their dinner.

Absolutely LOVE this place! My partner and i have been looking for “our brunch spot” and i think we’ve found it here💛🌱 We don’t even drink but we sit at the bar each time we come. The bartenders are super friendly, helpful, and great guys. Joe, Mitch, and Shane. The food has been phenomenal every time. HIGHLY highly recommend this place to locals and those visiting!

We were here two weeks ago for breakfast. Out of our entire Maui trip this was one of, if not the, best meals we had on the island! We sat in the back courtyard which was quiet, peaceful, and absolutely beautiful. We got a round of drinks to start our vacation off right and we're not disappointed with the bloody Mary and salty dog (both had gin substitutions for the vodka). Our server was fantastic! I can't remember her name...but she was a fellow Californian and had some killer recommendations for the menu and other local places to check out. To eat, we got the French toast and crispy ramen - I normally don't go for sweet breakfast, but as we were on vacation I went for it and WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED! The flavor, texture, and presentation was on point. The crispy ramen was unique, but super good. The egg was perfectly cooked, the pork was delicious, and the noodles were crispy but also softened up if it sat in the sauce. I would definitely recommend stopping by here for breakfast if you are on the West side of the island!

Beautiful spot right by the Lahaina harbor and the banyan tree that serves a nice breakfast/brunch. Some dishes were amazing—I would go back for the crunchy/flaky malasada alone (and I don't even like doughnuts!!). Some dishes were a bit disappointing—the French toast was a similar flavor profile to the malasada but not as great texture (it had an odd, panko-like outside, and was pretty dry if it weren't for the butter on top). Pancakes were very thick/fluffly with a gigantic bowl of lilikoi (passionfruit) cream. Next time I'd get another malasada and try out their famous breakfast ramen.

We stopped here before jumping on the Sail Maui for a snorkeling adventure. We decided to sit outside near the gazebo to enjoy the scenery. Its really a beautiful restaurant. We came for a quick brunch bite. Our waitress seemed a little hungover but was still pleasant. I absolutley understand going out and enjoying yourself at night, but if your job is to cater to people for a business, I might regulate myself a little better. Food was light but filling. I got The Ocean Bowl and my husband and I shared the Lilikoi Coffee Cake. The Ocean Bowl was fun and interesting. Flavors that ranged from sweet to tangy and textures from crunchy to smooth. I've been trying as much Lilikoi deserts and dishes as I possibly can while visiting the islands. It was perfect. The coffee cake soaked in the creamy sauce poured on top. It hit the spot. Worth swinging by

I had my wedding rehearsal brunch at Papa'Aina this morning and WOW!!! I wasn't sure what to expect (planning a destination wedding is a fun process, but you don't get to see a lot of the venues in person before you book), but they exceeded every single expectation I had. First of all, we had booked a private room inside the restaurant in advance, but they decided to move the brunch outside to their GORGEOUS courtyard as a surprise! So when I arrived, I felt like I had walked into a dream--the sun was shining, the trees were gently blowing in the wind, the birds were singing, and there were tables and place settings just for my rehearsal brunch! The staff is incredible--quick, efficient, and the most kind and generous people you will ever meet. Every guest was taken care of, every moment of the event. The manager, Rich, was warm, friendly, and personally saw to it that every guest was welcomed and taken care of. We are so appreciative of the incredible people there that made this day a reality. The food--my friends and family were RAVING about the delicious food served at our brunch. Chef Lee Ann created culinary heaven for myself and my family. We had 3 courses and everyone left satisfied and full! I heard things like "best meal I've had in a really long time" and "food is incredible" for 2 straight hours! Everyone absolutely loved her cooking. She is simply the best! I will never forget their kindness, attention to detail, or their warm welcome. Planning and executing a destination wedding can be stressful at times, but they just took care of everything for us and we didn't have to worry about a thing today. Absolute slam dunk, LIGHTS OUT, incredible event at Papa'Aina. Thank you so much for everything!

Best food we had while in Maui! Make sure to try any of their fresh seafood. The prawns and jalapeños dish was superb and so where the eggs with fish. Very creative cuisine and friendly, helpful staff. Would come back any day.

My husband loved his breakfast bowl and said it was one of his favorite meals on the island. I got the French toast and it wasn’t what I was expecting at all. It was coated in cornflakes and wasn’t pieces of bread, it was more like little squares. It was also absolutely dripping in syrup making it more like a breakfast dessert. I wish it had been explained better on the menu so I could have gotten something else I would have liked more.
