Oyster House In Lagrange

We are from out of town. We googled seafood restaurants and this popped up. It was a very short trip from our hotel. The food came out in a timely manner and everything was fresh and hot. Our drinks stayed full and the waitress was awesome. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5, is because the seasonings are different than im used too. Its not bad, just different to me. I recommend this place if you are in the area. You will not be disappointed.

OMG, THIS WAS OUR 1st TIME EVER GOING HERE, & WE ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! WE ARE HERE FROM ATHENS, GA & HERE ON OUR ANNIVERSARY WEEKEND GET AWAY! OUR SERVER RAVEN WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! THE FOOD WAS OUT OF THIS WORLD!! THE STAFF WAS VERY FRIENDLY, MINDFUL, & PLEASANT!! IF U ARE EVER PASSING THROUGH OR STAYING OVERNITE IN LAGRANGE, GA, MY HUSBAND & I BOTH ENCOURAGE YOU TO EAT HERE!! AND IF I COULD GIVE 6+ STARS I WOULD! AND THANKS SO MUCH TO THE MANAGER KIM FOR TAKING TIME TO COME OUT TO SPEAK WITH ME, SO MY HUSBAND & I COULD COMPLIMENT THE FOOD & OUR SERVER! WELL DONE OYSTER HOUSE!!👍❤👏🥰

Caveat: I’m a New Englander. I know great seafood. This isn’t “bad” seafood, but they have a bit to learn. Covid has cheapened our lives and eating out is probably one of the biggest bummers. Takeout is fine for fast food but if you’re gonna do it for quality food, you need to step up to the plate, literally. The Oyster House is basically a fish house of yesteryear. I bet it’s a fun night out or a great first blue collar date. Take out? Don’t bother. $50 for 2 styrofoam trays and plastic a utensil sleeve that you might get at the hospital. Lobster MacnCheese was watery. Tasted like canned Mnc with ample bland lobster pieces scattered about and commercial cheese melted on top. Cod was ample, but soggy over cheap commercial steak fries. Simply stated, the food was ok and plentiful but way overpriced. It’s a bar.

For being a seafood restaurant, they need to work on it. The interior is dark and reminds you of a cheap Mexican restaurant and the servers are in jeans and t shirts which would be fine if they weren't charging fine dining prices. Then, my shrimp and scallop scampi came out cold, and I mean cold. I sent it back and I heard one of the servers I think say to put it in the microwave. Which I am not convinced they didn't do...needless to say, less than stellar experience and we will not be revisiting.
