Review Dog N Suds - Lafayette

I’m so glad I got to try their famous Coney Dog 😋 for the first time three days before they closed for the winter. Since it was my first time, I also had the Kraut Dog and it was ok. But the fries and Cole slaw were very yummy. Of course, I couldn’t leave without having their root beer in a frosted mug. I will be back for sure.

The food was VERY good! I had tenderloin, fried mushrooms & a root beer. My biggest complaint is the root beer was handed to me about 1/2 full. It is too expensive to get a cup 1/2 full. My husband did unknowingly enter through the door that was for employees only to ask for them to top the root beer off and I ended up with 2/3 a cup of root beer. The employees in the kitchen stopped everything and were staring at him like he had 3 heads for going in that door. I was dying laughing at their reaction. 2 bits of advice… if you don’t want customers walking inside the doors, place the ‘employees only’ sign on both doors. The door he entered had no sign. We are not from the area and had never been there. Our root beer stand has an indoor counter for customers. The other thing is If the foam is that extreme, try to find a way to get rid of the foam so the customer gets a full cup (especially when they are asking for you to top it off since it wasn’t full already). Our waitress was very nice, the overall price was reasonable and the food was good.

Refused my gift Certificates. Hot Dog tasted dried up. Rootbeer 2 liter flat. Fries burnt.

We had a great lunch here today. Great food, great service.

Never disappoints. Mushrooms were way too greasy, dripping. All in all I have loved this place for 20+ years! Friendly staff!

You just don't see drive-ins like this these days! I'm old enough to remember eating at a few like this during my childhood back around the region. Most have long since closed. This place brought back found memories. The Root beer and coneys here are fantastic. There's something really unique about the chili, it has a hint of sweetness that really sets it off. I love that they have a four pack of rootbeers to go. I bought some to bring back to Georgia to share with my wife. Thanks for the memories and the meal. I hope you never close. Boiler up!

Service was friendly and speedy. Burgers were fresh and delicious. Fries were hot and well seasoned. Root beer float was so good, creamy and had a good root beer bite. Chocolate shake was perfect. Thick and actually tasted of chocolate syrup.

Since moving to Arizona, I don't get my yearly dose of Dog n Suds. We just came back for a visit & was able to get my Coney Cheese Dog! YUM! Just as I remember! Next time, Boilermaker! I love this place; a must go to!😋❤️

If you want fine dining, this isn't the place for you. I don't particularly like the fries. That's not their fault, I'm picky about fries. I like mine super crunchy, almost burnt. The dogs and root beer on the other hand, if you don't like those, well.. you're too posh and shouldn't be going to a 70's style drive in. I get tired of seeing people leave reviews like they just at the White House. It's 70's drive in food. If you don't like 70's drive in food, then you're not going to like this.

I give dog n suds a 3/5 simply because I am unable to eat there do to food allergies and cross contamination issues. I am unable to eat any form of seafood. All their food that is fried is in the same frier including fish and shrimp and breaded tenderloins and mushrooms. I have even gotten sick off of the hot dogs simply because someone had touched the dogs after touching the seafood. My kids love it there and I have fond memories of going there with my family growing up.

Always a real treat. Took my grandson for the first time. He definitely enjoyed it. Especially the root beer drive over from Westfield just to have lunch. Car hops are a great group young ladies. Appreciate the speedy service. Thanks

I've been going to this Dog N Suds for about fifty years they have always had great food and service. I love to stop when I'm in town . Lots of great memories with this place . I went there with my Dad . And I love to take my sons there.

Live here in Lafayette. Fairly regular customer, ALWAYS good food and welcoming staff. Having a bit of a problem with some of the negative comments made here..... just see no evidence of poor service or food ever.... thanks to all at the Dog N Suds... see ya next spring

I can't go there often mainly now because I moved away but still go to Lafayette every couple of months and try to stop in because I get treated the same every time. The service is good, the employees are nice and seem to like their jobs, the food is great and consistent and the place is living history, how could you not love the place?

The food is delicious and just as I remembered from my childhood. Process are competitive and reasonable. Apparently some misunderstanding between us and staff.

I bought a 2-liter of root beer to take home today, unfortunately it leaked all over my back seat. Stopped back this evening, the manager was apologetic and corrected the situation. Thank you! Now if you could just get people to stop smoking in the drive in...

Came all the way from Fort Myers, Florida to enjoy a coney dog and Texas Burger plus had to add a root beer. You need a store down here. Was also my favorite as a kid growing up in Indiana.

The service and food gets worse and worse every season. Today was the worst service ever ! And our oder was wrong not once, not twice, but 3 times... Needless to say 50 dollars later we shoulda went elsewhere.
Tim Greene
I hadn’t been here in probably 35 years or more, and I had forgotten how delicious the food is.. 😉🤗

Grew up on it!! Best fried tenderloin!! Yummy fried mushrooms. Can't beat the coney dog with some onion rings. Love the root beer but if you haven't tried a root beer freeze, you are missing out!!
Tim Emerson
The coneys were pretty good. Be better if they had a little more coney sauce. The fries and root beer were very good.

Always have a great experience when my husband and I stop in. Fast service, fries are fresh and let’s not forget about the coney dogs!! So good!! Our 7 year old always asks to go when we are in Lafayette. Really wished they still had one in Crawfordsville!

My favorite milkshake in town! Reminds me of summer as a kid, we always begged for Dog N Suds!!! Always great service, yummy food and wonderful memories.
Mick La Lopa
The BBQ sandwich is good but inconsistent on quality and portion. The cheeseburger is also pretty good compared to those in town.
John JD Helsley
Great food and amazing service. The breaded mushrooms are to kill for. Will for sure be back when I’m working this town.
