Review Sonic Drive-in - Lafayette

Well first of all, I am just going through back home in Minnesota from Ohio & got super hungry. Never had sonic ever in my life so hey let’s try it. Never been there, we got confused at the drive up things you go to & push a button to make your order. We had a problem as it wasn’t accepting both cards so luckily we had cash so the lady didn’t have to take out card & go in. She said we weren’t the only having that problem. But boy as we pulled away & parked & dug out our food… we started drooling. It was so delicious!!! I will be finding another sonic closer to home when possible.

I am at this Sonic an embarrassing number of times each week, because of my out of control Slush habit. Happy hour makes all drinks, shakes, and slushes half price so honestly you can't beat that, and I find myself here more often than I'd like to admit, just grabbing a lil snack of a 44 oz blue raspberry slush with extra syrup and nerds. Which...is not too much sugar, thanks. I could survive consuming more, with practice. But anyway, the service and staff can be hit or miss and they can very rarely hear anything you say through the drive through mic, which seems like something they'd look into repairing but apparently not a priority. About half of them get surprisingly rude and aggressive with you when they aren't able to hear you, despite the fact that you're leaning half way out of the car and shouting as loud as you can. This is not really appropriate but honestly, it could be damn exhausting to have to struggle with equipment all day, only to be able to hear less than half of what customers say anyway. So I try to cut them some slack, even when the issues lead to me not getting any of my food, just my drink and my husband's food and drink, which amounts to about $9 worth of food missing. That's enough to insist that you receive the food seeing as how you paid for it. When I parked and walked over to the patio area to try and get an employee to help get the food straightened out for me, I waited for several minutes, being ignored repeatedly, and then it became sort of obvious they knew I was there and didn't have the staff to come assist, or some other obstacle to coming to talk to me. Either way, I didn't want to cause actual issues or get in their way of getting back on track with the drive through line. I just went home, but I did definitely wish I had my food when it was all said and done. Not a great experience, which isn't always the case here. It's a steadily frequented store and in a busy part of town, and this has them working hard to meet that demand, so I get that mistakes happen.

Drive-thru communication was challenging, and they forgot the ice in the root beer. But the food was good except for the curly fries which were bland and neither hot nor crispy. The associate taking money and giving the food was very pleasant, however, which was a good conclusion to our drive-thru experience.

Food is awesome as always. Service could have been a little better but not bad. Forgot sauces.

The food was good, the staff were friendly and when we had issues without order going in, they offered to give us out meal for free. However, I wouldn’t recommend ordering at the tables and would recommend ordering your car. The system they have at the sit down tables is really slow.

Delicious food!! I got a number two meal and it was very, very good. The first thing you notice when you arrive is the old fashioned style drive-in. It is definitely something that looks very cool. The service was very good, staff was professional and very efficient. I got my food in a very timely manner. The food in the picture is their tater tots. Crispy and delicious. I highly recommend this place.

Ordered through the app. Food received quickly and everything was just as I ordered it. Great food. Atmosphere was outside in a roofed area which was awesome. Everything about Sonic was excellent.

Screaming through both car booth and drive thru to try & order. Cust service was ok w car-hop. Pretzel was 🔥 👩‍🚒 Most food is good here 😋 but they forgot needs the last time in my slushie 🥺 Wish they roller bladed still...

Food was great service was great too I added a pretzel twist to my order after I already placed it and it gave it to me for free how awesome is that.

I had the fortune of stopping at this location on a cross-country road trip that was stealing my soul. The comfort of familiar food made in a consistent manner was so helpful for reducing the amount of stress I felt. Sonic will forever be one of my favorite places for their selection, new items, and comforting normal items. (Chili cheese tots!) On top of the expected quality of this chain I also got a level of customer service that was definitely above and beyond what is expected at a fast food chain. The manager, Jon, came out and spoke to me personally while delivering my order. This man's customer service skills are out of this world and deserve far more recognition than they get! What an excellent team has been built here, I truly hope I get the chance to stop by again in the future!

Food was good but they really need to get the speaker in the drive thru lane fixed. You can hardly hear them talking to place your order.

I used to come here allllll the time for shakes and icecream, yesterday I ordered a small banana shake and a small icecream in a cup. Needless to say it was the worst EVER. BOTH icecream and my shake tasted like someone had crumbled up drywall and mixed it up into my shake and my mothers icecream. Was not impressed one bit. I HOPE my next visit will surely not be as disappointing as this one was...
