Hacienda Real Mexican Restaurant & Cantina has been one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Lafayette for years. My favorite meal with them is the Chicken Mole with a dark sauce infused with Mexican chocolate. It is hard to find and they do a great version of it. I don't get it this time, but also pictured is the Enchilada Supreme plate. With Chicken, Cheese, Beans, and beef with Queso on top. My picture doesn't do the food justice.

We went after lunch but before dinner. Big and airy space but beautiful decor and large, clean parking. Our waiter was great and really nice with the kids. Food was delicious and super huge portions.

My friend took me there and we had dinner and it was good. The waiter was pleasant and courteous. It just took us a minute to make up our minds as to what we wanted to eat and he understood. The atmosphere was good and at the time we were there it was easy to get in without the crowd. The food I ordered was delicious and hers also. We enjoyed ourselves and the service was great all around.

We’ve been to the new location a few times and the food and service is always good. With the exception of today 09/12/23. Went today for dinner with friends, the food quality is not what it usually is the taste was off. I also ordered my soda with no ice, but received ice. The waiter we had wasn’t very prompt or friendly, when we received our check instead of a itemized list of items and prices we received a calculator tape with out total. We also didn’t receive a thanks for dining or anything. Very disappointed!!

Very good and tasty food. It is authentic Mexican food. The staff is mostly family, and they provide great service. Regulars are treated like family.I had the beef taquitos plate and 2 marguaritas. I also like the chiles rejeno plate. They will be opening a new restaurant called Hacienda Real just down the street, toward Johnston. The same people from La Hacienda will work there, and the food quality will remain the same. Look for the grand opening in about 4 weeks.

When i arrived it was very busy. I was greeted with a smile and seated right away. They brought me salsa, chips and my sweet tea. Their salsa and chips are thicker than most Mexican restaurants. The more you eat the more you want! I had a hard time deciding between the #36 and the #38. I finally decided on the #38 with red sauce. Very tasty! You won't leave hungry. 😊👍

One of the best Mexican food restaurants in Lafayette. The chips and salsa are awesome just like the service. If you are hungry and in a hurry, this is the place to go. Before you can finish the first basket of chips, your food is on the table!

I have my own waiter when I go!! Alfonso!! He's the best, I get a #65 with chicken instead of shrimp, no beans extra rice with cheese on top!! He knows my order before I tell him!! He always has a smile and is so nice!! Great food, good smile and great service is hard to find, but not when we go here!!

It's.. Uhm.. I swear when I took a bite out of their salsa, I heard "New York City!!". If you're coming to Lafayette, it's not to try the TexMex, and if you have to try some, this place is a bit on the bland side, especially if you're used to TexMex by way of Texas.

LOVE this place!. This place is right around the corner from home and I had driven by a million times but never been in. By far the best mexican restaurant I have been to in Lafayette. I lived in southern Cali for 8 years and ate at some very authentic places, and so far this is as close as it comes to that. The owners are from mexico, and have decorated it with things from their home town. My favorite thing there is anything with chicken. I don't know how they cook it, but the flavors of the sauce it is cooked in is amazing and the chicken is so juicy and tender. The Mole is the best I have had in ages. The prices are excellent, especially for the amount of food you get. The service is good and fast, and the food always tastes so fresh. Do not pass this place up if you enjoy real mexican food!

Typical. The food was hot, brown, and there was plenty of it. OK, it wasn't bad but it wasn't different from any other Mex-Tex. Better than Taco Bell or at least a wider selection. Margaritas get a 8 out of 10. Service-fast and pleasant.

Excellent Surprise. I wound up here accidentally, and couldn't have been happier with the food or the service. I ordered the Acapulco Camarones and iced tea. The tea was delicious (unfresh tea is something I have come to expect about 75% of the time - not here!) The shrimp were fresh and light and delicious. The seasonings were just the right level to let the gulf shrimp come through. Their rice is fantastic, nice and salty and freshly prepared.<br/>The owner of the restaurant waited on me, and told me that he purchases all the decor from his town, Degollado, which is pictured on front of the menu. What a great experience this was. I added it to my Garmin and I will go back when passing through again.

Great food. Great price. Great service! Happy hour ALL DAY EVERY DAY! 2 for 1 margaritas and daquiris. Very good margaritas (never tried the daquiri). Fajitas are probably the best deal. The fajitas for one easily feeds two people WITH leftovers!!

What to get: Taqitos are outstanding. They are little tortillas wrapped around tender flavorful shredded white chicken then topped with a small amount of white cheese sauce. Tacos are good too. <br/><br/>Pros: excellent service. And while La Pagua is the best Mexican restaurant in Lafayette and one of the best restaurants period, La Hacienda takes my award for best Tex Mex. <br/><br/>Cons: this location used to be a fast food joint. And although the owners have done a really nice job with the decor, you just can't help but feel like you're in a fast food restaurant, which is kind of a turn off for me. <br/><br/>If you like Tex Mex you won't be disappointed by this place.

Food was pretty good. I dont know if you can call it traditional mexican, because im not an expert. I had the enchiladas. They were different from what I'm used to, but still good. Food came out quick, and as mentioned by other reviewers, the portions were huge.

La Hacienda. I went there yesterday for lunch. The chips were fresh, and the salsa way pretty good. I ordered a chicken chimichanga, which tasted great, was a good-sized portion, and had a lot of meat. I also received it lightning fast.<br/><br/>Overall, I had a great experience, and I will definitely be going back.

Just ordered TO GO - Sooo much food - almost too much. Portion sizes are great - and taste good too. The taco salad #55 was dressed well, but lacked color (could use "diced" tomatoes and "shredded" cheese). The nachos #49 were a meal - do not confuse this dish for an appetizer - it is way too loaded to be shared unless you ask for a serving spoon. The enchiladas #6 were AWESOME - the best of both worlds - cheese enchiladas with shredded pork and peppers on top. Keep in mind that I was not at all impressed with the location in Broussard - this location may have restored my appetite for La Hacienda. Might try the lime margaritas - I thought they were good.
