Taco Del Mar

I loveTaco del Mar but this location stinks. The lady speaks very little English which in and of itself is no big deal but she doesn't try to understand your order. She makes horrible tacos. She piles everything in there as if the corn tortilla shell is 16" across. I have to not ask for stuff I want because I know when she makes it, it won't fit. Chicken, sauce, and pico. Anything else and it's beyond a disaster. She rolls it up like who cares she isn't eating it and off you go. This location is destined to fail. It's never busy. The quesadilla for my son was burnt on the outside and not melted on the inside. Always a disappointment but we live very far away and when we come to town, this one's the closest. I always hope we need something further away so I can find another location and have what I actually want....and made by people who actually care and make the food with some regard for who will be eating it! 1 corn taco with chicken, 1 cheese quesadilla, 1 apple juice $14? Crazy.

I have been eating at Taco Del Mar restaurants for 20 years. This location is the worst, by far. Consecutively the food is bland, the portions are skimpy, the soda not flavorful, and the employees are either rude and or somehow over charge. Im editing this 5 months later to say I tried eating there again. As far as the manager or owner lady is concerned, she Needs to understand and speak English better. There was a misunderstanding Again due to Not understanding her wording. The blame fell on me the customer again. It was double punch Monday, I had to ask for my double punches. I know I got overcharged but at this point, I need to cut my losses and not go back to this location. I will add that the food and soda was more flavorful this time. I wish it wasn't so, as the location is very convenient.

Will not visit this place again, specifically. There was woman working there who was not helpful at all. I think she is probably the owner. Besides the language barrier, she did not bother to accommodate us and did not listen well. We ordered extras that were not given to us and we were so frustrated we ate the mediocre food and left. The guests who came in after us had difficulties also. I love the food at other locations and have had great experiences. This one? Never again, sadly.

As everyone has already stated, the lady working (asuming the manager/owner) was not very strong in the area of customer service. I have ate Mexican food from little mom and pop shops all over the country as this was not even close to being up to par. We ordered a Steak Burrito and a Taco Salad. The tortilla bowl for the taco salad was extremely stale. I'm not sure how long it takes for those to get stale, but i know it takes longer than one shift. Tortilla's are very inexpensive, if you want to earn a repeat customer, toss yesterdays out and make new ones every day. The burrito was gross as well. I wouldnt eat there again if it was given to me for free.

Small place, cute decor and food was ok. Seems like everything was precooked and then heated up to order. We got shrimp tacos and they counted out about 3 little shrimp per taco, put on a tray and microwaved them before putting them in a tortilla with cabbage and some "special sauce". It was just ok. The other selections might have been better because the place was pretty busy.

To get a smile and one bit of hospitality in this location when the owner is working is like pulling teeth. The daughter is very nice but you never see her anymore. Today was the last draw for me. The lady behind the counter was so rude she didn’t even acknowledge me when I walked in and said hello. I was served cold lobster tacos today and the cream sauce was awful. The corn tortillas were also cold. Asked for some lime to drown out the horrible taste of the tacos and she laughed at me and gave me a 8th of one and said that’s all she had. Just retire already if your that miserable.

The woman behind the counter had no customer service as she never greeted me when I came in or said I'll be right with you so I stood there for like 5 or so minutes wondering if I would be helped. I ordered the burrito bowl with pork. The beans and pork looked pretty over cooked and the pork had hard pieces in it. The woman made my bowl without much to say and didn't thank me for coming in after ringing me up; she didn't even smile. The prices were a bit much as well and the woman never told me there was an upcharge for guacamole. Not impressed!

Got the burrito, it was good. Nothing special besides the fact that it's $5 for a decent size burrito. I would go back and eat the food again. Friendly staff, clean place and the taste was good. I just hate when places charge extra for sour cream, it would be nice if they didn't, but this is nothing against taco del mar.
