Okura is one of the best place for sushi... For the ones with the big appetite... They don't cheat on fish... 37 bucks all you can eat is so worth it... Never been anywhere like this... Made to order and great appetizers to go with it... I owned a sushi bar before.. And this place is worth every buck!
And say hi to the best manager ever! Preda... He's one of the managers there! Tell him Winston sent you there lol ...
Best of the best I say!
I recently had the the most amazing dinner at Okura in La Quinta! To begin, the venue itself is elegant, and reflects the Japanese culture in its design, combining elements from nature: fire, wind, water earth and void.
The full bar includes all your favorite spirits, along with sake (of course), and some amazing handcrafted martinis. The Geisha Girl was a favorite!
Our first course was a yellowtail carpaccio, and OMG, it was perfect. The quality of the fish here is far and above any I have had in the desert. (Sidenote: Pokehana has joined the Okura family, offering poke bowls with the same quality fish!) We were transported!
Our 2nd course was a tempura soft-shelled crab. The batter was
unbelievably light and crispy. The crab was bright and fresh. I ate the entire crab in 2 minutes flat!!
3rd course was a filet mignon skewer, and the flavor!! Wow!! The Asian spices, and the high heat preparation bring out all the best on this simple appetizer. The dipping sauce was light, and not sweet or cloying. The filet soooooo tender!
4th course was a salmon skin handroll, it was crispy, light, and the salty crunch of roe enhanced the texture and flavor of this amazing roll.
Dessert was a mini chocolate souffle served with ice cream. For all you chocolate fans: this homemade dessert was melt in your mouth delicious!!!
I will be back to Okura, and often! Whether it be a business meeting, or a date, this is the perfect venue!!!
The food here is always a hit. I came with a group so we tried a variety of dishes. Everything I ordered was really good. The garlic soy edadame and shrimp & veggie tempura were good. We also had the Baked Alaskan and the Marilyn Monroe which we enjoyed. Our server was helpful and took care of our table. I enjoy coming here and would recommend this location.
We got there fairly later in the evening and there was plenty of parking. We tried the white wine and two types of rolls. We got the Marilyn Monroe rolls and the mango rolls. Fairly large size rolls. We didn’t need more than two plates. Service was great and they were able to sit as very quickly. We have the option to sit at the bar or a table. Next time I want to try sitting at the bar. I really like how they redid the restaurant. It is a great date night restaurant. It is also kids friendly. Good for birthday dinners.
Walked in for dinner on Saturday night at 7:40pm, said not accepting reservation until after 8pm. Busy place indeed with the vibes of various celebrations or date night. Bar is full house the whole time. Food is generally ok, cocktail menu is around $20 per.
This is my new favorite sushi place now. After driving past it for years, I finally had dinner there and it was awesome. Staff were very friendly, service was quick and the food was super tasty. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for good sushi
Excellent service, martini was not so good, tiger roll the bhomb.... spider roll excellent, ribs so good. Kyle excellent servicer. Will be back ty
This place is amazing! Great environment, wonderful crew and the owner is always there greeting and talking to customers making sure everything is perfect. My favorite sushi spot in the valley, I'm there often with friends or family reunions. Keep the great work.
This place is my absolute favorite. Every dish is prepared with delicacy; even the garlic edamame and wasabi served alongside the sushi are unique and I've never tasted them anywhere else before. The food is elegant, yet reasonably priced. I adore every corner of this restaurant.
Very good sushi. Tasted very fresh. One thing was weird, our server didn't bring us our food. A guy in a Tshirt brought it from the back. But they really took care of my wife and I on our anniversary.
Always a delight... Never a disappointment here. We're just waiting for them to bring back the All You Can Eat and life would be perfect.
Came here for a friend's birthday. Ordered the baked mussels, monkey brains, stuffed jalapeños, and tofu appetizers. Party all agreed the best thing was the monkey brains. Stuffed avocado and lightly fried. We also ordered several sushi rolls and you can tell all the ingredients were fresh.
Will definitely be back again.
We loved it! The James Dean was our fav. The gyoza was ok. The cilantro sauce on the side was delicious but I didn’t take a pic of it :) Go! Make a reservation!
